I would rather them buy back the whole company. Think about it, Banjo-threeie, Conker 2, Diddy Kong racing 2, new jet force gemini, new perfect dark. Even a new battle toads. Although if they did, they should change the name back to rareware. Also, since some of the great developers left to retro, they could combine rare and retro to make it bigger and better :)
Nintendo never owned Rareware in the first place, the just had a 2nd party deal with each other. Rareware was really a seperate company, and joined microsoft when they outbid nintendo. Many classic rareware fans fail to realize this fact because of their nostalgic rage (not inculding you). I think the info's just a rumor. A similar copyright misconception is Insomniac Games once owning Spyro the Dragon.
I got in an argument my brother over the buyout from Microsoft because I said I hated Microsoft. Being an Xbox owner, his argument was that Nintendo was dropping RareWare from the works and Microsoft picked them up. I did some research only to find out, he was right. D:
