I did some repairs on a lightsaber And a droid that a family got when they were at Disney Star Wars. They had broken not long after they purchased it. I can't remember all the details but the Droid had a desoldered wire and if I remember the lightsaber had a burnt resistor or something along those lines..
Good morning, Jason. I feel it you can't pay enough for the memory. My daughter Zoey built her driod when galaxy's edge first open and we still play with it. He lives in the living room by the TV. Great chopper outfit as well.
Great video. I have done both experiences, the lightsaber and the droid (both twice). I love both so much. Even if the droid just sit son a shelf it's still a really cool decretive item that you can look back and remember the time you built it. As a massive star wars fan, I always wanted my own droid and the face I own a B/R unit makes me happy even just to look at. I personally they are worth it. I also have painted mine too.
As someone who’s good at art I can’t wait to weather mine this year, and have an absolute blast. Any recommendations on how to save money on tickets for Hollywood Studios, I’m thinking of going to Disney World this year with my brother and sister but I’m trying to save money.
Best advice I can give you befriend a cast member, my bf is a CM he has people who were his costumers and befriended him when he worked at a restaurant over Polynesian, and my bf has let them into parks sometimes, same with other CM that used to work with my bf he has his regulars that he also takes to some cm exclusive events but that one costumer is actually a pass holder he is local too, anyways you can befriend a cm and most of them are nice.
I wonder if Disney is willing to “fix” the defective droids, I mean I get it that is not a good option for people who only go on vacation but maybe they can give an address to ship the droid and get it fixed/replaced.
I just got back from my Disney trip. I really wanted to build a droid, but I built a lightsaber on my first trip to Galaxy’s Edge and it wasn’t working correctly after a week. Disney didn’t offer any services back then. So it’s left a sour taste in my mouth.

I heard that buying the backpack comes with a different chip if chosen in some way, but I'm not sure how that works. Thank you for saving me on this journey! I'm really scared of not understanding things there when building the droid and ruining my daughter's long-awaited experience.
i personally dont know but im sure the employees there would happily guide you and your daughter through everything along w your questions. after all that’s what they are trained to do
Sorry for the delay. You’re probably already there building your droid. if so, I hope you enjoyed it. If not, they do offer packages that include the droid, a carrier, and a personality chip. There are a few different chips, so you just need to pick the one the sounds the best to you. Having two of them is fun because they do interact with each other and you can also race them. Have a great time!
That's unfortunate your red bb unit stopped working, but does that purple one with the white head still work? Also, what kind of precautions could I take with a bb unit to keep it maintained and working? This video was very helpful and provided some insight for me the next time I visit Galaxy's edge
Yes, the purple bb droid still works. The red one is just a faulty one, so you’ll probably be okay with the droid you get. All of our other droids still work great. The only advise I can give you is to take the batteries out if your not using it. Also, make sure the batteries you use are all the same brand when you’re using your droid. Have fun!
I really wanna get the BD Droid and a C Class Droid. I've been wanting these two so bad because I have plans to repaint them .sadly I won't be able to go to Disney Park anytime soon :(
I understand they want you to go and do it for the experience but what I don't get is why we can't just build them online, I'm not going to Disneyland for just that you know.
The oldest droid I have Is about 5-7 maybe 5-6 years old so they can last quite a long time and I bilt one with a family member on the same day so that's TWO the have lasted about 6 years.

Which one would you recommend getting? The bb unit and r unit have me torn!
Both units are cool, but I prefer the R unit because it’s a lot easier to control.

I've heard you can send them back for repairs or in some cases, they send you replacement parts.

We always go to Disney world in Florida, so the prices must be different. That’s good for you though, because it’s less expensive.
