You could just add nether portals at the bottom and set up an auto kill spot in the nether to get rid of the “spawn cap” problem and make your current creeper farm more OP

i've tried several of the various snowman-based farms. I keep having trouble with the creepers blowing up and wrecking things. I may have to try this one

How does it work? What do the snowmen do?

the snowmen will selectively throw snowballs at any hostile mob and creepers in particular seem to hate them. they run over to explode on the snowmen, but fall thru to the collection system.

The problem i have with the snowman bait farm, is the creepers get too close and explode, wrecking everything. the only way i've gotten it to work properly is make sure there's at least 3 blocks between where the creepers can be from the snowmen.
tbh, i've had better results with a modified witch farm style farm, using trip wires and trapdoors to flush the floor into the collection area. Add some trapdoors inside and it cuts out the zombies and skeletons and all that's left is spiders and creepers. i've had one running in one of my worlds and it's actually out produced some of my best producing dedicated cat-baited farms.
