This film continues to be an excellent, carefully executed documentation the poverty and political entrenchment of that poverty under a state that denies, or more commonly, refuses to acknowledge both. What it's missing is an analysis of the causes of this now 40+ year reality...but then again, who cares? This film was made in Cuba and everyone of its participants acted courageously in its production-especially those who remain as disempowered then as they are now.
