I tried it. It works well. Note the oil must be hot - the correct temperature is important for the puff.
that's very true. Oil should be hot otherwise pooris will absorb oil.

Thank u shilpi. Very much appreciated u made a video on my request. I tried the same way u said but it's not getting fluffy I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Is the dough same texture as roti dough or have to make more hard?
+muz Dear Muz dough has to be harder than roti dough. Knead the dough for some time till it become smooth.. If your poori is not rolled evenly it will not puff.

Looks easy when you make it. Tried at home during this lockdown. Resulted in very hard pooris.
The key is the proper water to dough ratio which this recipe doesn't mention.... it's difficult to attain except thru trial and error

Love Pooris. Adding 1 or 2 tbsps of fine Semolina/Rava to dough along with Atta will help to puff and keep the shape for longer time.

The water is it tap water or warm water
I was today years old when I found out what a puri was. I'm going to have to try this.
Ok, just tried it, didn't really pay attention to quantities and added a little too much butter. The puri disintegrated in the oil. Back to the drawing board!

dear I used to use it so that my burners stay clean. But I think it's not a good idea. Later I came to know that it becomes very toxic after heating.
No baking powder? or is tge flour self raising flour?
