Of course, there's no "wrong" way to display amiibo, but if you pay attention to the text on their base, you can determine what the intended front of the model is. It might encourage you to rotate your figures just a few degrees, but it might surprise you how much more charismatic their silhouettes typically look.
After reading this i immediately went to check my TOTK Ganondorf Amiibo. Turns out it's actually supposed to face you despite the fact that his pose is based on the sideways art. I guess the people who make these also noticed that the intended pose really isn't great.
No need to read the text, just display them with the smash logo facing the right way (same for the Zelda logo btw)
I wanted to collect each and every one of these amiibos but goddamn you'd have to spend a fortune and a re-seller's premium on like 90% of these as if you're a third worlder like me.
Yeah its awful. I'm so glad I started collecting when it came out cuz these new prices are jusy awful
Not just that but you need to have as much space as possible to have them all. I just gave up and bought an Amiijoy controller that has them all digitally stored inside of the controller itself to scan.

Something I found though is if you're on holiday in Europe and have space it's worth checking as I found some cheaper. I picked up 3 fire emblem Amiibo in Portugal all €12 each and they were at least double price here
when I started. I made a rule where I never spend more than $25 on 2nd hand Amiibos (with some exceptions).
there are a number few that ive yet to see this low but thankfully retro resellers & reprints have filled my roaster.

Daniel do you keep your amiibo near a window? That's likely what's causing the discoloration. The amiibo community is slowly discovering light damage as the years go on
Good thing I keep mine on a shelf away from the light. Glad to know this now because I really don't want the 30th anniversary mario to fade out
I also really wish characters that got significant redesigns in Ultimate got new Amiibo

I just want to inform you and everyone else that you can actually see ROB's jet boosters and underside details if you look through the space between his base and the trophy base. It's super well detailed and has no reason to exist, but they decided to add it anyway and I love it.
The surge in Amiibo related videos on YT lately has me as a collector very happy, ah maybe someday we will return to our 2015 glory of dozens of amiibo dropped every year.
You managed to collect the entire Smash lineup as well. This was a long, expensive, and often stressful journey we've been on and I'm so glad it's finally over.

@@jaredkhan8743 I mean, I guess there are a couple nuanced ones like Gold MegaMan and Famicom ROB I didn't bother with. Regular ROB and Mega are fine and I can still say no cap that I have the entire roster including all the P2 ones.
Im pretty sure samus pose is based off her entrance animation/when she gets off a save place in metroid
Yeah, I haven't played more than like half an hour of Super Metroid but that was clear even to me as a standard Samus pose.

The reason Sheik goes before Zelda is because Sheik was confirmed in the E3 Trailer, but not Zelda.
You see Sheik playing the harp, then she looks up, and we see Zelda's reflection making the same gesture. It's more confirmation of Zelda than Dark Pit got.

I really wish we would have gotten reprints of a couple characters where Nintendo addressed their faces (a la Marth and Villager) - namely, Palutena, Shulk, and Lucina! They’d look so much better made today!

I love the Kefka perler in the background there. Terra was my most wanted Smash character.
Also, a good place to display amiibos and other small figures is on spice racks! You can fit them on a regular shelf and they're tiered, so you can fit three times the figures in one space.
I have a small but slowly growing collection of amiibo sitting on the shelf on top of my TV, and they look really cool. I used to get them for the in-game benefits, but now I just get them because they look cool.
You have no idea how badly I want that Mega Yarn Yoshi and Qbby amiibo.

20:41 Foxes scouter was originally transparent in the same trailer they showed with the narrow clear supports. It changed when they lowered the quality for the final product tho
Yeah, the transparent scouter would have looked so good. I at least appreciate that on some like mine, the scouter is a bit separated from his face so you can see his eye under it.

I would've liked to see the new Ultimate designs of the characters (like the Miis, Link, Zelda and Ganondorf) get an Smash Amiibo too tho as well as the characters that's alt costumes, like Enderman, Zoombie, Alph and the Koopalings

But really there's a lot of good here I wish he would've tackled it in release order instead to show the progression of them. Also yellowing plastic understanding that as a concept for materials it happens. And I understand not being thrilled with the supports it's not an easy thing but we're talking about relatively inexpensive figures too and not wanting them to be too fragile.
I would’ve taken them in the Number order they put on the EU/UK packaging for the Smash series.

It's really funny having my Pyra and Mythra amiibos right next to the scale figure because the quality is night and day. It's amazing how making these anime figures bigger can do to make them look way nicer. And also not mass producing them.

I like the knitted Yoshi Amiibo. But probably my top top fav amiibos are the Guardian from BOTW, Magnamalo and Malzeno from Monster Hunter

I remember when amiibo first came out thinking i was just going to get a few at most and that was it. Now i have not just almost all the Smash amiibo (only missing Daisy and Ken), but i have 160 in total. It was a lot of time and money spent, but i can't deny its been fun and satisfying seeing my collection grow throughout the years.

The Mario amiibo will always be my favorite. Not only is it, of course, because of personal bias - Mario’s my favorite video game character, had an influence on my UA-cam icon, was my main introduction into gaming, the main reason I love gaming in the first place, I grew up with him for many years, and he’s had a major impact in my life overall - but that fireball effect is just the coolest; not too many amiibo have effects like that, and it certainly wasn’t necessary for him. But they did it anyway, and it looks sick.
Loved the video and would also enjoy another video reviewing all the other amiibo that weren't included in this one

I think the pirana plant might be my favorite amibo, it just looks so good! By the way a great example of a support done well is on the breath of the wild archer amibo, they made it into like a gust of wind because link is in the air doing the bullet time pose

I started with Fox and Samus on the day Smash Wii U released. It was all down hill from there. I turned into a full on collector by the time wave 3 released.

Awesomd job with the collection hunting. The only rare one i got left to buy are snake and pyra and mythra. The remaining i need are quite easy to get ahold of
I used to proudly have my amiibo displayed around my room with series specific having it's own spot, but ever since I moved they've been in a large Amazon box, which funny enough originally shipped 1 amiibo at the time, and I pull them out when I play a game that supports them. Unfortunately I don't have all the smash amiibo due to the fact that Pyra and Mythra went REALLY fast in both preorders and launch.
Well done impressive collection. I never went full on Smash amiibo collect but because Zelda is my favorite game series I have collected all the Zelda ones. Good enough for me with a couple other ones from different series.
The visual improvements between the Smash 4 and Ultimate Amiibos really make me wish the Smash 4 Amiibos got remade. Its sad how cheap and simple they are, compared to how insane, detailed and creative the newer ones are. Charizard and Lucario looking way worse than Ivysaur and Pichu is painful

Of the Smash amiibo, my favorite is probably Piranha Plant. Of all the lines, my favorite has to be Callie from Splatoon. The sculpt is so nice and the subtle glitter effects look super great.
I wish we could get Amiibo of Link to The Past Zelda, Female Byleth, Female Villager, Male Wii Fit Trainer, and Kazuya in a suit, but at the same time, they already put so much effort and love into these figures that I am grateful for what we have.
The ice effect behind the Ice Climbers go harder than they have any right to. If I had to buy at least 1 Smash Bros amiibo, regardless of how they play in the game, it would be them. ❄️

the fire emblem amiibo i got most of bc you could unlock the associated character in several different games like fire emblem fates and code name steam and fire emblem games were some of my favorites on 3ds
Haven't heard you say it, but it's worth mentioning that the original WIi U line of amiibo are all based on the character poses from the select screen. So you can thank Sakurai for how Luigi got done dirty!

So I know it isn't a Smash amiibo, but an interesting thing about the Isabelle amiibo from the Smash and Animal Crossing series is depending on the figure's outfit it'll automatically use that costume in Smash. I think the two R.O.B. amiibos and Inkling amiibos from the Splatoon series do the same thing for male and female.

I have three different Amiibo. I have Wolf Link that I got with Twilight Princess. That one makes sense. I have Link Rider that my Dad randomly got me which is a cool pose and I love Zelda so it also makes sense. Then I have Ryu. I have played Street Fighter on occasion but I don't own a single Street Fighter game and the fact that I have Ryu is a bit random. I think my Dad saw it cheap once and got it. I have no idea why but I appreciate it.

I also have all Smash Bros. amiibo. I got some action figure wrestling belts for them that they all compete for. Currently Incineroar is the Nintendo Heavyweight Champion and King Dedede is the Nintendo Power Champion.
My years of Amiibo hunting. Ahh those times of me going to couple of stores in France and Spain with my pops and looking for the best ones they had (Shulk being among my most wanted ones)
My favorite one tho? Hmm, tough choice 🤔 Lots of them have cool details, so (with minor exceptions) they are not that bad
But I go with my boio Kirby, Mega Man and Joker
(and if non Smash Amiibos count, then Twilight Princess Link and *maaaybe* Wolf Link)
The only Smash Bros. series Amiibo I currently own are Kirby, Dr. Mario, Lucas, Gold Mega Man, and Dark Samus.

I think they should make Amiibo for the Ultimate renders of characters who have a Smash 4 render as their amiibo, using a costume to differentiate.
Female Wii Fit has a Smash 4 amiibo, so make Male Wii Fit the Ultimate pose
Give Ultimate Mario the Builder costume
Ultimate Link’s base style uses BoTW, so it would work
Villager could use the Female default Villager
Pac-Man
Pikachu could use one of its Shiny variants
I'm not even a Persona simp but I feel bad that Joker couldn't quite make the cut for the S tier LOL. Seriously, I think he looks the best out of all the amiibo, even if I have a very strong bias towards some other of my favourite characters.
Min-Min is S tier, but of course. However, I can't believe she ranks lower than the Piranha Plant. XD
I think every single amiibo from the Mario Bros. series is better than its Smash Bros counterpart.

Ness is probably my favorite as well. Both because I love the character (though I still have to play Earthbound... Fake fan, I know), and also because it's the first Smash Amiibo I ever bought. The GameStop I got it at had the last King Dedede amiibo next to it and after talking to some people there, I caught FOMO and bought it. My Amiibo addiction kicked off from there ever since.
The only Smash ones I'm missing now are the Mii Fighters and I doubt they'll ever see a rerelease. (Okay, I also only got one of the characters witha P2 variant (whichever I thought looked cooler, so I guess I'm missing those)
