That is beautiful and if I attempted this quilt I would brag about it to anyone that would listen, because I know that I have graduated my quilting skills from k-5 to middle school, now when I attempt fm quilting I will except my diploma.Thank you April, love your videos.
What a cute quilt and I love your fabric pull!!!! And best of all was seeing you think out loud. I always confuse The Engineer when I think out loud. Great video!!!
I made this quilt with the original 2 1/2” strips. I can’t stand to cut off half the diamonds on the sides so I added side setting triangles. Less waste.
April you have to be really talented to do what you just did. Wow that quilt is wonderful. I may start it as a wall hanging first just in case, If I mess up completely, I won't be wasting too much fabric that way. I will make sure my kitty's, Smokey, & Snickers are with me in my sewing room. Then all I'll need is a package of treat's for them, & a whole package of Chocolate for me. In the morning I should be finished with my wall hanging. lol.
Hey April, I love to "supersize" (McDonalds forgive me) quilt blocks and quilt patterns. It's your quilt make it your own. Great colors (my favorites). Probably why I love watching your tutorials. Keep 'em coming girl. Love you.
Another GREAT video April. Thank you. Only there aren't many funny out takes. I like the out takes, they proves you're human !! You are getting better.
I love krista moser quilts....they all come out terrific and I have all her patterns. I was so happy to see you doing one of her quilts, yours was fantastic!!!!!
Love how you enlarged the pieces to create a bigger quilt. Thanks for sharing your creative process with us. I think you are NOT being selfish by keeping the quilt for yourself. Enjoy! You deserve it!
Watching you put this quilt top together on the design wall made me dizzy; or, it could be the Covid-19 shot I took yesterday. I love that cat. That is a beautiful quilt top.
April, I love what you did! The colors are right up my alley! It is just beautiful! I have never done a diagonal pieced quilt, but this might encourage me to do one! I watch Krista Moser, too! She is a delightful quilter!
I was laughing when you were mentioning “the line up”. What I was seeing in my head was… before a sporting event on tv , they will name a player and then his info. Took me back . Thanks
I love Kristas patterns. I’m making another one at the moment. Her instructions have really helped me get flatter seams. . I love you’ve made this bigger. I need another quick quilt ( I made one of yours last time you up sized a quilt). So I think I better get scrounging through my stash.
It turned out really pretty. Reward yourself for completing a challenge- definitely deserve keeping this one!! Probably not going to attempt this but do love your version in size and colors!! Thanks for sharing!
Good job 👍🏻 have you seen Krista Moser video on scraps you cut off? You get another quilt top, she is a genius!! lol I just love her videos and patterns. I have both rulers and patterns, I need to finish up quilt blocks..
Hey April you may already know about this store, but as I am new to quilting I just found it. Its called Marshall Dry goods. I was blown away we i walked in. A hugh wearhouse full of every colr and parint of cotton fabric . Just wanted to give you another place to vist. Its in Batesville, Ar
Great prints. I like Dan Morris prints. You have a great eye for placing colors. I've been watching Kristen Moser. Thanks for sharing. You always do such a nice job of sharing the ups and downs of piecing.
That came out gorgeous. I love watching you, you make me laugh! I watched Krista do this and thought no way, but you made it look easy. Love the wider strips too. Definitely keep it, I would too. Eat some chocolate!
This turned out so pretty! A & B are a bit confusing, you'd think they wouldn't be. I like that you upsized the strips otherwise you'd end up with a wall hanging not a useful size
Beautiful quilt with beautiful fabrics. Glad you made it your own. I won’t be attempting that one as I would be one to turn all those blocks backwards and every which way 😂 I would be writing on the back of each one with a frixion pen as to which one is A and which one is B. Love your tutorial videos. Missed Oliver in this video though.
Love the quilt and an interesting solution to width problem. I love your larger, fewer blocks. Love the bright, cheerful fabrics you chose. Tks so much. I don't think I could have trimmed the pretty fabric. Someone else (Opinionated Quilter?), floated the ribbons with background triangles. No trim on color strips. That would be me. lol Tks again.
That turned out real pretty. I won’t be making any quilt on the diagonal anytime soon. I did one recently and UGH! The squaring up didn’t go as it should have. I had to get my husband to use his laser squaring up tool to get it to some semblance of square! 😜
Community quilt ... LOVE IT ... I think that is pretty kool that he had the laser squaring tool ... maybe I should look into that ... LOL Thanks for sharing April
I would like try this is, but add an extra all white piece at the end of the rows. I hope that would give a white edge along the sides, so that I could cut the straight sides without cutting any of the colored ribbon pieces. This would also make it a bit wider.
That's beautiful April....I was wondering what the quilt would look like if you just cut some corner and side pieces and make the pattern look like it was kinda floating like???
Mainly because I was lazy. My attention span is quite short and by the time I put those diagonal pieces together and diagonal rows my brain was tired. LOL. And I couldn’t figure out how to get them filled in without a Y seam. I would love some ideas on how to fill in those half diamond areas. Another idea I had was to leave the pointed edges and just bind it that way. But again I got lazy. ;-) April
April, I love this pattern!! How long did the quilt end up being with using the 4 1/2" strips instead of the 2 1/2"? I may have to make one of these for ME also 😍😍
Hi Christy .. I am so sorry youve had trouble with it .. send me an email and I can email it to you ... aprilscraftroom@gmail.com make sure to give me the title of the video so I know which one you are needing thanks April
Putting it together is just like when you do a quilt on point. Also I hate this strategy of just cut off the sides instead of side settings triangles. Seems so wasteful
April I can honestly say I will NOT make this one! Too much thinking and not much relaxing! I’m still not sure your 3rd ribbon stripe is right. Like I said, too much for me.
I love the bright colors. It is beautiful.
Thank you so much!
And i love the kitty visits.😊
😺
I absolutely love this
That is beautiful and if I attempted this quilt I would brag about it to anyone that would listen, because I know that I have graduated my quilting skills from k-5 to middle school, now when I attempt fm quilting I will except my diploma.Thank you April, love your videos.

Hmmmm....love this pattern.....may require wine in order to get it done 🤣
LOL Whatever it takes! LOL
April
I made this quilt with the original 2 1/2” strips. I can’t stand to cut off half the diamonds on the sides so I added side setting triangles. Less waste.
I would love to see it! My friend Dee wanted me to keep the diamonds too. Thank you for watching and commenting.
April
I also added pieces on the side to avoid cutting the triangles.
April you have to be really talented to do what you just did. Wow that quilt is wonderful. I may start it as a wall hanging first just in case, If I mess up completely, I won't be wasting too much fabric that way.

Watching you put this quilt top together on the design wall made me dizzy; or, it could be the Covid-19 shot I took yesterday. I love that cat. That is a beautiful quilt top.

Just beautiful 😍
You are so kind-- Thank you so much!
April
This turned out so pretty! A & B are a bit confusing, you'd think they wouldn't be. I like that you upsized the strips otherwise you'd end up with a wall hanging not a useful size
right!
I totally agree!
Thanks for watching

Oh gosh! I’d be so confused, no telling which way my zigzags would end up!
I like that you enlarged it, I hate sewing tiny pieces.
I hate tiny pieces also .. lol
Thanks for watching
April
Love it

April
Try putting the strip sets wrong side together, then cut. You will get mirror pieces without worrying if you have the ruler correctly situated.
Thank you for this Tracy! I appreciate you sharing!
April
I like it very much. Sure teaches your brain to work another way doesn't it.
Thank you Pamela!!!
April
It is really pretty. Why didn't you fill in the sides rather than cut off, and add to the sides.
Mainly because I was lazy. My attention span is quite short and by the time I put those diagonal pieces together and diagonal rows my brain was tired. LOL. And I couldn’t figure out how to get them filled in without a Y seam. I would love some ideas on how to fill in those half diamond areas. Lol when you are try to line this up good luck girl hugs
Thanks June!
April
I’m thinking about a layer cake for this…?
Very interesting. It will definitely be scrappy. Please send me a picture of it. I bet it will look great!
April
April, I love this pattern!! How long did the quilt end up being with using the 4 1/2" strips instead of the 2 1/2"? I may have to make one of these for ME also 😍😍
The size is about 59” x 72”. Thank you for watching. And I think you will be happy with this pattern.
April
Where can I buy the clear diamond that you're using to cut your fabric
There is an affiliate link in the video description. Thank you for watching and commenting.
April
It looks easy because only 2 blocks...but I couldn't do it.
You can do it .. I have faith in you!
April
I’ m here

I tried to get the free pattern and I could only get the picture and comments!

April
enjoyed the pattern, but seems very confusing to make.
it is easy when you play with it .. I hope you try it... I think you can do it!!!
April
If you don't read the directions they aren't very good! 😂
LOL
thanks for sharing that ...
April
It’s beautiful but way too much thinking for my pea brain. lol
Thank you ... but I am sure if I can do it ..anyone can ... it just takes some practice
Thanks for watching
April
So pretty but it made my brain hurt! HA!
lol
Sorry about that
Putting it together is just like when you do a quilt on point. Also I hate this strategy of just cut off the sides instead of side settings triangles. Seems so wasteful
Thanks for watching Rebecca
April
This is not for me ...lol...but congrats on figuting it out
Thank you so much!
April
It does look scary to me
You can do it ... you saw that I made some mistakes .. that is why they make seam ripers ... LOL
thanks for watching
April
April I can honestly say I will NOT make this one! Too much thinking and not much relaxing! I’m still not sure your 3rd ribbon stripe is right. Like I said, too much for me.
I think what’s throwing you off is she alternated the solids
True. I see that but for some reason it throws off my eye. I love April!
That was my row that used solids from the other rows. LOL. I can’t decide if it is my favorite or my least favorite row. 😀
April
Yep. I think you’re right. 😀
April
Beautiful!
Thank you Jo!
