I don't have any trouble moving my windscreen up or down on my '23 R1250RS. I push out/forward while moving it up or down, definitely helps. Also, just grab up higher on the windscreen to give you more leverage (I grab the upper left side of the windscreen). The real issue with the 1250RS windscreen in my opinion, is the ridiculously unacceptable vibration/clatter at low speeds. Local dealer on test ride said nothing abnormal, which I completely disagree with, especially for a $20k bike.
Thanks for the video, nice to see a comparison of what BMW engineers have come up with on other models. Actually surprised there are so many variations!

Thanks for checking out the video and commenting. My stock windshield would vibrate and make a clacking sound at low RPMs especially when going around a corner. I thought to myself I just spent so much money on a premium motorcycle and it makes this kind of racket. My BMW dealer could not fix it. However it fortunately fixed itself when I purchased an aftermarket Puig smoke colored race screen. It’s basically the same size as the stock screen except it’s I believe curved a little bit more which put more outward pressure on the hinges where the screen goes up and down thus stopping the clanking sound.

It is not easy to change position on the go. It becomes dangerous because you can lose balance trying to move it up or down. A small lever would do the trick. Just stop, adjust the screen and continue your journey. It is safer. Also the retention springs of the pins that hold the windscreen come off frequently with the bike’s trepidation. As well as the ones on the passenger footpegs (since less used and more subjected to that effect). On my dealership the mechanics in the workshop confirmed this is a common issue.

Activate cruise control and use both hands. Quick and easy.

@ if you own the same bike you know that you have to wrestle with the mecanism. Does not make it safer, I chose to protect myself from disaster, rather stop, adjust the screen and proceed. No big deal. You lose 5 seconds but likely avoid putting yourself in a potencial unsafe situation. It is just smarter.

I would not use that trick where you use your fist to push it out and rotate to lift. This looks like it puts unwanted pressure on the info screen which is mounted on rubber grommets. Mine is already flimsy enough.

Agreed, just saw some dude do that on UA-cam. I never move mine because of the head buffeting in the higher position.

As much as I love my RS, the aeros are bad. I've had multiple RSes and this is the worst as far as buffeting & noise is concerned, even after trying multiple aftermarket screens (currently using a clear MRA Variotouring). Maybe this will be improved with a R1300RS? Who knows.

Hoping the 1300 RS makes some improvements over the 1250. The screen is ridiculous and why I had to buy that $30 wind deflector that sits on top of my screen to cut down on the buffeting

Interesting! On the RS it would be unsafe to try and raise it and it seems like it should be electric right for a premium bike. Also, have you test rode the F 800 or GT bikes? What do you think of those bikes and the R 1250 bike? Just asking. And thanks for this video.

Unfortunately I haven’t test those bikes. The RS should come with a lever for the windscreen. But like I said I would never raise it anyways because it creates too much head buffeting
