How to maximize one day trip in Tagaytay? | Food and Travel Guide | Self itinerary | eat.travelgal

Tagaytay City is a constituent city in the province of Cavite, Philippines. It is one of the country's most popular holiday town south of Manila because of its outstanding scenery and cooler climate provided by its high altitude. In addition, it overlooks Taal Volcano, an active volcano surrounded by Taal Lake are the most remarkable features of Tagaytay.
Bulalo Point Turo Turo Grill
They have a broad menu of Filipino dishes. We ordered Kare Kareng Bulalo because it’s unique and excites us to try it and Crispy Tawilis as it’s famous in Tagaytay too. You can really taste the peanut in Kare Kareng Bulalo, the beef is so tender, it’s kinda sweet and a lot of veggies so it tastes even better! The tawilis was crispy you could eat the entire fish! Food is delicious, the servings were generous and prices are reasonable. The view wasn’t as good as we had expected since there were trees blocking the view of Lake Taal.
Peoples Park
It is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the province. Entrance fee is 30 pesos. The park was converted from an incomplete mansion, known as the palace in the sky. The view up there is breathtaking offering you a good sight of the Tagaytay landscape and great view of nature.
Picnic grove
A well liked tourist attraction in Tagaytay perfect for families, couples get together group of friends to come for a picnic or just enjoy spectacular view of Taal Volcano. Aside from having a picnic, there are other activities here that you can enjoy such as horseback riding, zip lining, shopping, and etc.
Cecilia’s Buco Pie, Tarts and Pasalubong
It is actually a pasalubong store, so you can find a variety of local products to choose from. They offer delicacies from other places such as Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Bulacan, Pampanga and Dumaguete. Cecilia’s buco pie did not disappoint us! It is freshly made and always served hot. Each slice has huge chunks of buko in it that are extremely tender and not too sweet. The crust consistency is also superb without being too crumbly or too hard to bite. Aside from the MUST-TRY buko pie, we also purchased Silvanas, Charito’s Special Espasol, Tabliya ni Jalia, Margie’s Biscocho, Broas, Pastillas de Leche, R&L Chicharon Pork Belly, Instant Batangas Kapeng Barako in Tea Bag, Highlands Brew Kapeng Barako, Sweet Sunflower Seeds and Cranberry Trail Mix. We’ll definitely be back for Buco Pie!!! 😋
Tsokolateria
It is one of the restaurants in Tagaytay that are often jam-packed. A visit here is never complete without a cup of their handmade and old-fashioned tsokolate de batirol. You can try their Tsokolate Ah a milkier hot chocolate or Tsokolate Eh a richer hot chocolate. They also have a great selection of dishes served uniquely infused with chocolate. We ordered one of the Tsokolateria's all-time favorites include the Bacon Lechon Kawali Cebu-Style which is good and Tsokolateria's Churros Waffles include Strawberries and Cream that have a crisp outer layer and soft inside. Nonetheless the place provides a great view of Taal Volcano while we are enjoying Tsokolate Eh.
