Didn’t feel that quick TBH. Ran it ‘half gulp’ for first ride this morning more comfy than I expected but not as explosive. Then downloaded the Strava file and I’d got 6 PRs plus a KOM on the final climb 🤷♂️
@@GuyKesTV looking forward to it! Did your chisel earth frame come with the collectors book? I just finished a chisel fire build but the concept store in Chelmsford lost the frame accessories while it’s been hanging on the wall since 2021 and specialzied UK wasn’t able to replace it. I’d love to see the book if you’ve got a copy. Looking forward to the head-to-head with the World Cup!
I'm looking forward to the oncoming deep dives into this new design concept and weather or not it is something that will be a good choice for my racing needs.
Been riding it a month now and it’s amazing. It sprints and climbs like a hard tail and with the 120mm front fork you can run it at very low air pressure. The longer reach puts the your weight further back so the front doesn’t really dip much on the low pressure. The head tube angle is a bit too slack for slow loose climbs but everywhere else it’s nice.
@@GuyKesTV I’m running the rear in the firm setting. There’s a good video explaining the different settings. This video is spot on. ua-cam.com/video/MmTWqEouiGI/v-deo.html I haven’t ridden the bike much in the softer settings yet cause honestly it’s super smooth and soaks everything up in the firm setting. And my mistake I meant 110 travel fork that the bike comes with. Not 120mm.
If the rear suspension performance is up to it, I'd like to see a Manitou Mattoc Comp tested for more trail capability. How wide of a tire will go on the rear?
Guy, why would you assume this bike is stiff? It's really no different than the current S works Epic or Epic Evo. Those seat stays are super long and thin. The rear end is going to be no stiffer than those other bikes I mentioned. Also, why would you want stiff bars?? So the bike sucks on long rides and the rider is fatiqued. How about riding it, then give us the truth abouth the bike. Besides, "it's a proper ripper". Please.
Ed, I’m assuming it’s stiff because Specialized have said that repeatedly throughout the launch PR. Same with the bars. As I say in the video, this is the intro and I’ve already started a multi ride test sequence which you can follow on Patreon if you want. Spoiler alert, neither frame or bar feel exceptionally stiff compared to the Canyon Exceed I tested recently. As for “ripper”, sorry for getting excited.
Me too. Plus I also want to know if SIDLux WICD actually stands for “Superlight Integrated Design LUX World Cup Integrated Design”. Anyway I've just asked Georgia at Spesh and Alex at SRAM to put me in touch with the relevant tech folks so hopefully I'll be able to get answers soon
Are you referring to the stickers on the overhead bins or the bike? It’s already led to several ‘conversations’ this morning. They mostly ended in PR’s or a KOM though 🥵
I would not want to own anything with specialized brain suspension to much problems and after 5 years of ownership you won't own get suspension Parts from specialized I rather own anything .
Looks rapid!

@@GuyKesTV need a match with this Lux I’m testing I reckon!
Beautiful piece of kit
There's a reason they want it back before Ard Rock! Seperate to that, would be cool to see a tour of the Kes Cave.
Looks amazing but I'll be sticking with my sworks HT ✌🏻
I prefur my xc hardtails
Thanks for the run down, it’s a great looking bit of kit and paintwork! I’d be keen to see the comparison with your chisel Earth project. Cheers
That's definitely part of the plan

Definitely stay tuned. First ride was already very interesting!

@@B-gh7md that’s great feedback. What setting are you running the rear shock in? Did you add the 120mm fork yourself?

very nice
S works Regression - Back to 90’s MTB
cheers
That would look so fire kitted out with bontrager RSL
Then it’d be a Trek Supercaliber 🤣
@@GuyKesTV yeah I'm just fooling around. I like the new WC and the differences between it and the trek are significant for sure
Friend of mine called this bike EpicCaliber..... : D, nevertheless this bike looks spectacular
Wow ❤
Sure is pretty, but think I'll be running my Chisel for a while longer yet!
Me too so far!
The S isn’t lighter, if you factor in the lack of a dropper post.
If the rear suspension performance is up to it, I'd like to see a Manitou Mattoc Comp tested for more trail capability. How wide of a tire will go on the rear?
I’ve got a 120 SID that could possibly go in and I’ll see what rubber will squeeze in too
Do you think riders other than serious XC racers should be interested in this bike?
That’s what I hope to find out over the next month
Im sure its going to be better than a Giant NRS!
It’s definitely smoother so far, but those semi carbon Giants were pretty iconic 🤣
the steering has lock on?
Yes but it's not so much it interferes with riding
@@GuyKesTV i have the sworks problem is when steering begin loose it doesn't work well you have to check steering every ride
can you explain where is the place of stickers kit that come with owners manual
TrekSpec 😂😂😂😊

I'm hoping for an 100/120mm travel EVO version of this bike at a price that mere mortals can afford????
Just get the existing Epic Evo. 110mm rear, 120mm front and the frame is lighter than this bike 🤷♂️
This is replacing the hardtail, not the full suspension version.
@@GuyKesTV I think the Epic World Cup is better looking. With the hidden fork it has a great look. Much better than the Scott Spark.
Looking for more info on how the compression and rebound work in the shock

6:21 Scott Scale does not have a 78 STA, more like 75
Sorry yes you’re totally right. Was sure it had a super steep seat angle. I was even on the launch and was sure that’s what they said then 🤷♂️
@@GuyKesTV All good man. I was like wow…78!
Except you can get a Supercaliber in a rational price.
Similar to Trek Supercaliber
The design concept is very similar yes
Wwtd?
