As a professional dog walker and former owner/trainer of 2 Certified Therapy Dogs, I have a big huge yellow flag for anyone trying to get into the pet care industry. Pet care involves safety risks especially after 2020 (for a *variety* of reasons), as well as being on everyone's camera 24/7 in their homes. If you aren't already adjacent to dog behaviorists and trainers (some of whom abuse dogs, too!) and use a dog walking app, expect to get jipped in terms of payment. If a dog injures you during play, do you have insurance? If an off-leash dog runs up to antagonize you/the pup you're walking, what do you do? If the dog you're walking bites another dog, what's your liability look like? Dog ownership changed quite a lot after 2020 and being in the dog industry a while now, please, for the safety of yourself and the dogs, don't just jump into dogwalking thinking you'll be rolling in cash without some real and at times fleshly sacrifices. Please.
Things like these are only successful if you go after affluent clients. Tons of people want these services, but don't have the money to pay for them. So be sure to market towards the affluent to be successful.
