You don't count, it's your video
It absolutely counts.
@@mediamementosofficialNuh-uh! It doesn't count 'cuz Ma said so! >:(
Also, curious that - after further research - the animation team that worked on this film, particularly the Danish side from A• Film, worked on films such as Asterix and The Vikings, The Iron Giant, Lilo and Stitch II, The Magic Voyage, and I S**T you not, _Felidae._
...So from cat gore to deer poop to actual Disney films and WB animation.
...Wow.
🎵THAT'S, A TECHNICAL FOUL!!!🎵
Perfect sum up of Sandler’s bad movies
I can’t believe animators signed up for an Adam Sandler movie and were surprised that it was raunchy. That’s cluelessness on their part.
Kinda glad we’re past the point of getting genuinely mad at media that’s heavily flawed or “cringe”. I heard about this from the nostalgia critic years ago and i’ve come to realize that if something gives you joy with how bad it is, why not celebrate it I guess
Say what you will about this movie, but the animation is really beautifully done, and the soundtrack is pretty decent for the most part. Also, at least Adam Sandler went on to make or star in in better animated films, like the Hotel Transylvania movies (actually made by Genndy Tartakovsky of Dexter’s Lab and Samurai Jack fame) and Leo.
I still can’t believe they thought an adult animated film would appeal to families.
This is one of the first movies that came out when DVD was seen as commplace in most American households, and we got a lot of special features on that DVD release because of it. Way more than if this movie had come out in the 90s, or today. It was just the right place at the right time for DVD.
The film had two commentary tracks too. The first one has the screenwriter chat with Adam Sandler (in character as Whitey and his sister). The second one, which Trevor used for researching the video, was the director’s commentary.
@@KawikaProductions I never liked commentary tracks personally. It gave me people talking behind me at the theater vibes. But I appreciated the effort and money they put into giving you your money's worth. Back in 2002, DVDs were expensive.
@@KawikaProductionsThe first one also had one of the co writers of the movie Allen covert.
It’s fascinating that Sandler hasn’t talked about the film in years. You’d think he would bring it up considering his recent animated film Leo on Netflix.
I consider eight crazy nights as one of my guilty pleasures which is funny because I was never fond of Adam Sandlers movies, maybe with the exception of Hotel Transylvania
Aside from most of the gross-out jokes, the movie's fairly enjoyable. The music and animation is great, and is quite heartfelt. I even found myself liking Whitey more than I thought I would. For the past few years, I've made a tradition of watching it around Christmastime.
Despite some of the gross out humor, I've always liked this movie. The animation is fantastic and it has a good heart to it, plus some great songs.
My sisters and I enjoy this film.
While yes, Eight Crazy Nights has problems, but we appreciate the animation and how much time and effort everyone, including Adam Sandler, put into this film, especially the songs.
Idc, what anyone says I love this movie
It’s always great to see a darker Christmas animated comedy than most movies try to do.
Also, if you like this movie
Be sure to check out iron giant and the animated bits of osmosis jones
They’re also done by the same animation, people who did eight crazy nights and they’re great darker kinda adult animated films too.
No joke, I’ve had thoughts about what it’d be like if someone got together with Adam Sandler and adapted “Eight Crazy Nights” into a(n) (off) Broadway musical. Can you picture that?
That might honestly work tbh. If they just hadn't tried to appeal to a family-friendly audience and instead catered to Adam Sandlers loyal fanbase and their cult-following that developed since the last decade, don't see why they couldn't give it a shot
@@frankie3466 The good news is that Sandler learned his lesson when making Leo.
Underated movie. I ended up watching it days ago and enjoyed it. For those who are reading this comment I recommend you to at least watch the movie this holiday season.
An animated Hanukkah so bad, there was never another one ever since. Maybe if this film was less mean spirited and made for the whole family, it would have been a classic. Maybe it could have lead to other Hanukkah animated movies and be on the same level as Rankin Bass.
So Eight Crazy Nights was going to be a co production with Sony and WB… …sort of. Fascinating.
It still technically is.
Warner bros animations name is in the credits
And many people who worked on the iron giant, and osmosis Jones’s animation worked on this film.
And, you can tell with the movement and the way the characters look.
Oh!! Even more fascinating!
People say this is Adam Sandler's worst movie and I can understand but come on this movie has some charm and it's actually not that bad compared to his other works too it's not great but it's a lot better than Little Nicky
How can this be the worst with Jack and Jill exists. This at least has good moments.
@@DrewtheStew1999 I completely forgot about Jack and Jill
@@Swap_ew Dunkaccino
I like the idea of this movie
@@KawikaProductions, don’t mind if I do.

I’ve always loved this movie. I never thought it was bad
There are worse holiday movies than Eight Crazy Nights, I'd say (and probably anyone else). There is one in particular: "The Christmas Tree". Released first on video on September 1991, before airing on the USA Network in that year's December. Still, I'd probably say that not much people saw it because they were busy (and would probably rather be) watching something else: either the Soviet Union becoming not much of a union anymore, or were participating in movie theaters' holiday season buzz (MANY films, plenty of which are family-friendly affairs, were released around that time: "The Addams Family", "JFK", "Hook", "Father of the Bride", "Cape Fear", and even a pair of animated films, "An American Tail: Fievel Goes West", the theatrical sequel to Don Bluth's film, and Amblimation's debut film, and the famous (and probably the most successful film of the 1991 holiday season) Disney adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast").
Funny enough according to seth kersehey the director of eight crazy nights this film beat Disney treasure planet in terms of per screen viewing.
Don't forget the role Roseanne played in this. Originally Roseanne was supposed to perform 8 Crazy Nights on SNL, when she was the guest host that week. It's the rules at SNL that everything you write goes to the host and/or the celebrity guest. Darrell Hammond played Donald Trump on SNL for decades, and was fired from the role so Alec Baldwin could play Trump, and the reason that was given was "Alec is more famous than you. He gets to play Trump." So Sandler wrote the song 8 Crazy Nights, and Roseanne was to perform it. But Roseanne graciously said, "No. It's Adam's song, he should perform it himself." And the song blew up from there. And who knows if 8 Crazy Nights would be the beloved classic holiday song it is today if Roseanne had sang it?
Damn never thought something i requested would actually get made like HOLY
I was happy to see it show up on the Gift Video suggestion board. I was like, “Even if this doesn’t win, they’ll get what they want the week before.” Did you sneak a peak at the secret schedule? 😁
@@mediamementosofficial actually no, i didn't (THAT'S A TECHNICAL FOUL). This is still good enough for me regardless! Thank you and keep up the great work, Trevor!
Thank you, and thank you for your support! It’s always cool to see someone pitching and/or getting excited for a video that hasn’t even been announced. Keep using your psychic powers…but only for good.
@@mediamementosofficial you're awsome
Funny thing is, I bought this movie from a thrift store ages ago and I still haven't watched it yet
Whitey's voice always gets a chuckle out of me
This movie is a chanukah classic that I watch every year
Say what you will about Eight Crazy Nights, But it's one of my personal favorite holiday movies as well as one of my all time favorite Adam Sandler movies!
In fact one of the many things I love about this movie is that even though it's about a Jewish guy and Hanukkah, There's no rule saying you have to be Jewish to watch it. lol
The fact this vid released 8 months ago is perfect timing
I saw Eight Crazy Nights only once, and never watched it again.
I just like Adam Sandler’s step in Disney-esque animation but honestly it’s not my favorite. The history is interested though! Highly recommend this! Merry (early) Christmas! 🎄🎅🏻🎅🏻🎁🌟❄️☃️
Reviews like this make me wanna do the robot dance.
Can you do a Complete History of Jungle Emperor/Kimba the White Lion video? I saw you did Speed Racer so I feel Kimba is another vintage anime that needs a video.
There's good bad flicks guys. Also happy holidays to you, and keep up all this good work! But why is your thumbnail so detailed, and does anyone else think it don't look really good, as me?
I think I’ve heard of this movies before, but I’ve never seen of it.
They didnt get warner on the animation exactly but they did get some people who had worked on iron giant the year before. Its so weird to think 8 crazy nights shares dna with the iron giant.
I love the joke theory that this and Iron Giant share the same universe because of that
I stil think most people are just embarrassed to admit they like this film lol.
I will never not laugh at the “Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid,” edits of the movie poster
I see Eight Crazy Nights as the greatest film ever
Love this movie.. always will💙
Ah yes my favorite holiday movie 🤣🤣🤣
I wonder what would an animated Kwanzaa movie would look like.
12:14 Wasn’t expecting this.
Personally i dont mind gross out humor, its the "haha youre different from me" jokes found in every sandler movie that rubs me the wrong way.
Who wants Eight Crazy Nights to be re-released in 3D?
Let me get this straight: They expected a film based on a holiday which only 2% of the US population celebrates to be a success? Huh?
This video is a technical foul
LET IT OUT DAVEY!!!!
Could you guys someday review the amazing digital circus? I managed to see it(despite youtube's best efforts), and doesn't look, sound or feel even half bad, probably be next to lackadaisy!
12:15 omg klonoa
I used to like this movie, but that was long ago.
I’m getting the dvd of this for christmas
We called it!
The animation and art style was really wasted on this film. It's so goo, but why couldn't it be made for something actually good? It kinda reminds me of the art style from the Iron Giant.
by far, the moat adam sandler movies made by sandler
I saw this movie once. One time too many
We saw it together, and what a magical time it was!
@@mediamementosofficial You need to see Black Hawk Down with me for some magic then
"YOU'RE AN ANIMAL!"
AND YOU'RE BALD!
Look while I don’t like this movie like a lot of other people do the animation (and some of the songs are really good!)
It’s the same issue I have with the brother’s grunt good animation catchy music (due to how it aired on MTV!)
And the fact that it’s such a weird show that I can laugh at!
The story really kills it for me!
(When are they ever gonna get the chosen one!?!)
i watched 8 crazy nights in school
like, middle school or high school, cause i don’t know if thats a school friendly movie
@@littlepleeth9423 high school
This seems like it could have been better if Adam Sandler toned down the humor a bit, like he did in Leo. The movie was funny and there were enough adult jokes, but they were age appropriate.
Is 4:11 from another video or was it specifically made for this? Because either way, this remix is a bop.
BTW, I watched this movie earlier this month. I found it pretty enjoyable, even though it’s no high-level art; Whitey was definitely my favourite character since he has a funny voice yet a sweet and kind personality.
I actually made the remix. I slapped an Amen Break while also speeding up the video. I was inspired by the B-12 Remix by sozal.

@@KawikaProductionsThanks for letting me know. :)
The animarion and actual drawings are really, really good. Too bad they're attached to a steaming pile of dog turd. I accidentally blew an interview to be an animator on a Happy Gilmore game by impulsively saying I hate Adam Sandler. I have no regrets.
I thought you hate eight crazy nights?
Did he say that?
Yes he did Say in My Complicated Relationship with Click (2006) video
I used to go through waves of hatred and tolerance. Now I feel like I’m locked into “meh” territory. But much like Allen Gregory, I find myself watching it despite not liking it.
adam sandler
it's still the WORST Animated Christmas/Haunanaka movie
Movie is a meh from me. Nothing special but it’s not the worst animated movie
I hate this movie it's so awful
