I love that you jumped right in and even though you think it was a mess at the beginning you didn't give up and you found what works for you. This year I'm committed to writing down something from everyday that I was blessed by and grateful for on that day, the monthly pages would work well for that.

I was a person who had no idea what to do with my monthly spread but a few weeks ago I figured it out. The monthly spread has been perfect to write my reoccurring monthly bills, birthdays, blog post dates and books I’m reading for the month. It’s a perfect quick glance of my bills, birthdays and special dates. I still write these out in the weeks they happen but having that overview has helped and my monthly views used to be blank all the time! Love your personality, beautiful planning. God Bless 🤗
I have a mini happy planner but I use mine for function. Each month’s appts go in as soon as I make them. (Hair, dr, meetings, whatever). I mostly only decorate special occasions ( birthdays, anniversary, girls days, parties). I keep track of what I cook daily because it gives me inspiration on days when I can’t think of what to cook. I just look back and get ideas. I track my daily steps. At beginning and end of month I chart my weight using the scale sticker. I’m not one who likes planners with all the page filled with stickers. I love and use my white my spaces!! I think I’m notbusy but at the end of the month I can see all I’ve accomplished and feel satisfied. I’ve only been plannings going on 7 months but I grab my planner for everything. In the back I keep a log of books I want to read and then check them off as I read them. I have medications I take listed. A suggestion... I think you might benefit more from a horizontal layout. Put your important things scheduled on your monthly calendar and then break each week apart on the weekly addingthibgs that need to be done during each week. A few timely well placed stickers are all you really need for a functional planner. I hear you about liking pink and purple!! Me too!! Girlie girl colors. :-) Hope you find what works for you!!

I put birthdays on the monthly 2 pages, girl, you got it worked out! Its beautiful and I really love how you put together your pages. Great job. I like your monthly overview. but because you love color schemes do that on your monthly too.
Love your video, keeping it real I love it. I use my monthly spreads as a quick view of what appointments, birthdays I have or major events. I do a monthly color scheme for each month. Keeps it functional and also looks good. Keep planning!

Love it! I use my monthly spread for an overview of the whole month with appointments and events pulled from the weekly views. I usually decorate it a little...not too much. I liked your cake washi, btw.

I do the same with the monthly with limited decor because I like seeing everything due on one layout....just as I did for all of my school assignments from elementary through graduate school and continuing in present day life! I enjoy new technology but I’ve always loved my pen and paper crafts. Go figure! Lol

Wow! As a newbie to the HP, I am exactly where you were at the beginning. My first weekly spread is a mess. Love your first color scheme. It was great to see the growth and transition you went through. This video let me see, “I can do this!” When I say new to HP, I’ve been a functional planner for years. The decorating part is difficult for me because I don’t want to crowd out space I need for something important. Once I work it out, I can enjoy the decoration AND use as a functional planner. I totally jumped into this reality with a classic home planner, mini purse planner, classic bible study devotional planner, classic budget planner, and big teacher planner that I had to create myself with a six month extension pack. I’m so happy that I found you and this video! It will help me immensely! May I suggest to you how I use my monthly? It’s not heavily decorated, just a sticker or two for birthdays. Think of using it as a functional planner to preplan your month. Organize bills, paydays, birthdays, events, appointments, etc. Then, when you plan each weekly spread you can look at the monthly so you won’t forget anything. Finally, the best part is listening to your year in review story as you flipped through the planner. It’s like your first memory planner. Not only did you transform (find) your style, you created a story. I love this video. Please guide me through 2018 with more videos of inspiration.

My background is art, drawing, painting and scrapbooking. I started with my happy planner in Oct. 2017. previously I used franklin covey since college or notebooks in highschool. So my monthly is barely decorated also but functional for Appts, kids game schedule and payday. I guess I will figure it out how to use more in 2018. I started using the happy planner last year, but I was on such a tight budget it wasn't as nice as I would have liked. I made almost everything . I'm a scrapbooker. I really loved your planner layouts. I don't have kids or a lot going on. We are at the empty nester stage in my life..but I love decorating it. I like looking back on the previous year. You seem like you are more of a memory planner. I love that you were able to identify when you weren't feeling your best. You can use the monthly calendar to track things like moods, budget, wellness....Thanks for sharing...I love your Happy Planner share♡♡♡
I'm waiting for mine to arrive on Monday. I agree with leaving white areas. I really don't like the ones that are all tape and stickers, not very creative. Those are nice looking pages with all the white. Mine is going to have the first three months empty, but I have an idea on what to do. I do a lot of gardening and growing some of my food. I figure than I can cover the month and year and use them to plan all the things I have to do before it's warm enough, again. (Where I live it gets extremely cold, -35 degrees F, so I start many of my vegetables indoors and then transplant.) Hopefully that will help me and I won't have to waste all those months.

For your monthly: pay days for budgeting, bill due dates for bills that aren't on same day every month, birthdays, days off from work /school, events, parties, church, bible study plans. One important thing about each day for a helicopter view of your month. Fitness, meal planning...
It was great to see someone else just starting out planning. Sometimes I get stressed about planning. I'm unsure yet if I am strictly functional, decorative or both. I have multiple planners for different things and I think I am more of a one planner girl. I guess when I find my grove I'll know. Thank you for a wonderful video!
I use my monthly pages to list bill due stickers as reminders, as well as birthdays, anniversaries, game/ practice days for my children, etc. I especially like the fact that my bills are never late due to me forgetting to make a payment. Best wishes. Love your color scheme decor.

I just started out with the happy planner and what i use my monthly spreads for is basically tracking any major thing going on in the month (birthdays, bills due, important events, important appointments i can't forget for the month, etc.) And i would like to go back and decorate it. That's basically it for me.
Its so funny. I just bought my first planner EVER never have I owned one before today. I dont even know if this is for me, Im amazed by the amount of people that are reallly into deep planning...... i came onto your video in hopes to see what your did with your monthly over view and im really laughing out loud because you sound just as clueless as I am right now with what to do and how to decorate. 😂
Loved, loved, loved your video!!! You sound like such a GOOD person! Your style is great! And your planner shows your ups and downs, it's refreshing to see a planner like yours, meaning an actual person USES it. Now an idea for your dashboards and monthly views: if something doesn't work for you, just cover it up. Glue paper on top of it and use it for whatever you want. I used to draw habit trackers on graph paper, but nowadays it could be just cute stickers or a single image. I once cut out a page of a coloring book and stuck it on the page. The drawings my kids make me and recent pictures of my family work perfectly, too (a little bit of memory keeping can't hurt). And if you want to use the extra months left in your old planner along with a different brand new planner, Frankenplanning to the rescue, that's what I say. I hope you'll find a good way to put all the pages in your planner to use!

I love this video! I always use the monthly view for the dates that my bills are due so I can see them all at once. I also put my work schedule in there because it changes every week.

I just got on the happy planner kick! So far I am really enjoying it. I got it for a faith planner so for the monthly layout I write down the verse and in the weekly layout I actually write the whole verse out and then I bought the extra paper you can put in and I write notes about the verse. I also have the horizontal layout over the vertical layout which is easier for me to work with. Hope this helps 😊

It was great to see someone else just starting out planning. Sometimes I get stressed about planning. I'm unsure yet if I am strictly functional, decorative or both. I use my monthly pages to list bill due stickers as reminders, as well as birthdays, anniversaries, game/ practice days for my children, etc. I especially like the fact that my bills are never late due to me forgetting to make a payment. Best wishes. Love your color scheme decor.

I just started out with the happy planner and what i use my monthly spreads for is basically tracking any major thing going on in the month (birthdays, bills due, important events, important appointments i can't forget for the month, etc.) And i would like to go back and decorate it. That's basically it for me.

Its so funny. I just bought my first planner EVER never have I owned one before today. I dont even know if this is for me, Im amazed by the amount of people that are reallly into deep planning...... i came onto your video in hopes to see what your did with your monthly over view and im really laughing out loud because you sound just as clueless as I am right now with what to do and how to decorate. 😂
Loved, loved, loved your video!!! You sound like such a GOOD person! Your style is great! And your planner shows your ups and downs, it's refreshing to see a planner like yours, meaning an actual person USES it.
Now an idea for your dashboards and monthly views: if something doesn't work for you, just cover it up. Glue paper on top of it and use it for whatever you want. I used to draw habit trackers on graph paper, but nowadays it could be just cute stickers or a single image. I once cut out a page of a coloring book and stuck it on the page. The drawings my kids make me and recent pictures of my family work perfectly, too (a little bit of memory keeping can't hurt). And if you want to use the extra months left in your old planner along with a different brand new planner, Frankenplanning to the rescue, that's what I say. I hope you'll find a good way to put all the pages in your planner to use!

I just got on the happy planner kick! So far I am really enjoying it. I got it for a faith planner so for the monthly layout I write down the verse and in the weekly layout I actually write the whole verse out and then I bought the extra paper you can put in and I write notes about the verse. I also have the horizontal layout over the vertical layout which is easier for me to work with. Hope this helps 😊
