That's why Leon not be able to move while aiming was implemented...thats how all RE games up to that point were. Obviously it seems odd now, but there was a reason for it at the time.

Loved the remake personally, though as someone whose played the original to death they definitely cut a significant amount. The village is mostly the same but there were quite a few areas that didn’t make it into the castle and that whole battleship section is missing from the island. Definitely worth playing but it made me want to go back and play the original as well, which still holds up perfectly fine despite its age.
Never finished my playthrough of the original RE4. I remember having reached the island, though. Now, two weeks ago I finished RE4 VR, and man was that a blast! And I still haven't enough. I'm looking forward to playing the remake next week :D
I’ve played this on gamecube, ps2, wii, and ps3. Such a groundbreaking game that won game of the year on its i Titian release. I can see this remake becoming game of the year again!
I bought the original a few years ago and couldn't play it because the controls were too dated. I can't wait to finally play RE4 with this remaster woohoo!
RE4 was not the next in line. Code Veronica was next and indisputably a main series entry. 4 is much better than CV, but that's why it needs a remake FAR more.
I'm hoping for a gold lugar in REm4ke with the flavor text of "We do it." As a treasure you can get with one of the new side missions. Wouldn't it also be cool if you had to fight a Bandersnatch to get it!!!
@@Drachenkonig2 That would be incredible. Though I'm still holding out hope that their fear of remaking 5 & 6 will lead to a CV one, and maybe an RE1 remake in this new style. But I'd enjoy the nods if it's all I get!
One of the biggest and best changes is that the game allows you to play it how you want with the ability to craft ammo. That way you are not just stuck using weapons which you find ammo for. I really enjoyed the freedom to do what I want.
The demo highlighted that the 'modern' controls, camera and gameplay perhaps still aren't best suited/advanced enough for fast and aggressive zombies, but the original is still a masterpiece that I can't wait to play again.
My PS4 remastered of this game is still sealed and might remain that way since this remake is coming. I remember beating the original over a decade ago back in ps2 and I think it was okay. Gotta play this remake and see why this game gets so much love. I'm hyped.
Wild I only came across this on the PS2, staying over with a cousin and was playing while everyone was gone to work, was amazed and scared in certain areas.
What is this absolute false narrative so many reviews are pushing today that Ashley was in anyway "annoying" from a mechanical perspective, citing that she is improved in the remake because "she doesn't get in the way of the action"? Pro tip: she has been considered one of, if not the best escort mechanic in games for the last 18 years, if you struggled with her in RE4 that was on you.
All Cut Content from RE4 Remake SPOILERS: * Trailer sequences of Ashley running through the Village alone at night. * The U-3 Bossfight and area. * No running from a Boulder sequences * The Cable Cars are now merely scenery and not accessible * Incendiary Grenades * Island Laser Room * Island Throne Room * Verdugo #2 does not combine with Salazar and but is alive and absent for the rest of the game * Separate Ways Campaign * Assignment Ada Mode
Incredibly well done remake but the Dead Space remake I still find to be superior. It's like RE4 is the gf that's a 10, Dead Space is its sister and she's a 12
The good news is that Capcom is a game publisher that is very generous in giving heavy discounts all the time meaning one can build up a dedicated console playing resident evil games on it. I will buy this when it is on discount. In the meantime I still have the HD original to play with.
This year the award for game of the year will be a slaughter. RE4 Remake, Dead Space Remake, Zelda, Final Fantasy 16, Spiderman 2, Silksong and there's a chance Hades 2 or Armored core will be in too
Seriously, the only thing I don't like is the arrow that pops up over any enemy's head to tell you you can melee him. It's so unnecessary. The game still uses the same system as original RE4 where enemies stun in a very specific way and that's how you knew they could be melee attacked. It's completely redundant to have the arrows. I hope someone makes a mod. They can't be turned off in the demo.
I’m almost 100% sure you can disable that by turning off HUD and other little in game pop ups. I did the same in the RE2 Remake when I got close to items and had the little arrow notification disappear making it more realistic. Edit* Just saw that you tried to turn it off in the demo and couldn’t. Well hopefully there’s an option to turn it off in the full game!!! Did you try the HUD options??
I really genuinely appreciate the fact that rather than lambast the game for failing to capture the 'corniness' of the original in favour of a more serious tone, you instead praise the game for tip toeing the line between both. Kudos 👏

Im actually glad they made an improvement on Ashley she looked like she was 18 in the remake where as in the OG she looked 16 yrs ol this remake version felt more matured than the original
All I care about is the VR version. I'm waiting to know if it'll be the full game or just a short "mode". No full VR mode, no need to rebuy the game. It's that simple
No U3 boss fight -_- They just shouldn't cut content ..if add in more content . Then sweet. But why the hell do they cut content ? That's so lazy and lame
U3 was the worst boss fight in the game anyway lol. They replaced everything they cut with something else so it's fine. Not like RE3R where they flat out just cut stuff out.
Those 10/10 reviews should be at the most a 9.5/10 because they didn't even offer RE2R Ada to voice Ada in RE4... This is a problem I'm seeing is going to be more common is not being able to keep the same voice actors for multiple titles. The Carlos/Chris voice actor bullshit kind of ruined my experience in RE: Village.
Got the special edition pre-ordered on the first day of pre-orders and I can't wait to play the full game. Though Action Resi 4 would never make my top 5 Resi games and it was very highly overrated plus Resi 5 was a better game overall, better gameplay mechanics and didn't try and do what Action Resi 4 did to pretend it had horror in co-op I lost count how many times completed with all weapons having infinite ammo. I hope the new Action Resi 4 live up to the quality of RE2&3 remakes
How are they gonna pretend like the RE1 Remake didn’t absolutely nail remaking the original?!?? People and reviewers act like that masterpiece doesn’t exist!!! 🤦♂️
What I want to ask is if this early review copy of the game fixes those issues with aiming on console. Leon controls great as is, but the way he aims feels off in comparison to RE2R. I have a way easier time making headshots in RE2R than I did in the demo of RE4R.
I did too at first, you just need to turn up aiming sensitivity under camera controls. I put it about halfway. I'm pretty sure by default it is turned all the way down so he aims slow as shit.
@@markdesselle5572 Nah, that doesn't really help. I cranked acceleration up to the max and set speed up to halfway, which does... help, but it still feels off. I could make headshots fairly easily in the past games, but I am having a hard time doing so in the demo. The reason why is because of dead zone problems, which are notoriously crappy on Xbox.
I can't wait for this. I'm incredibly bummed that my collector's edition was canceled by gamestop, but I'm glad I can get the standard edition none the less. My Chris Redfield statue is just going to be feel lonely without the Leon statue.

@Papi Mood the game is built around the controls. it’s timeless, not dated.
The demo highlighted that the 'modern' controls, camera and gameplay perhaps still aren't best suited/advanced enough for fast and aggressive zombies, but the original is still a masterpiece that I can't wait to play again.
they aren't that fast
My PS4 remastered of this game is still sealed and might remain that way since this remake is coming. I remember beating the original over a decade ago back in ps2 and I think it was okay. Gotta play this remake and see why this game gets so much love. I'm hyped.
Wild I only came across this on the PS2, staying over with a cousin and was playing while everyone was gone to work, was amazed and scared in certain areas.
Now for Capcom to bring on the Code Veronica remake
What is this absolute false narrative so many reviews are pushing today that Ashley was in anyway "annoying" from a mechanical perspective, citing that she is improved in the remake because "she doesn't get in the way of the action"? Pro tip: she has been considered one of, if not the best escort mechanic in games for the last 18 years, if you struggled with her in RE4 that was on you.
The OG RE4 is a top 5 videogame ever made! I haven't been this hype for a game in a long time and never been close to this hype for a remake ever!
All Cut Content from RE4 Remake
SPOILERS:
* Trailer sequences of Ashley running through the Village alone at night.
* The U-3 Bossfight and area.
* No running from a Boulder sequences
* The Cable Cars are now merely scenery and not accessible
* Incendiary Grenades
* Island Laser Room
* Island Throne Room
* Verdugo #2 does not combine with Salazar and but is alive and absent for the rest of the game
* Separate Ways Campaign
* Assignment Ada Mode
Incredibly well done remake but the Dead Space remake I still find to be superior. It's like RE4 is the gf that's a 10, Dead Space is its sister and she's a 12
Great review, after watching this I’m psyched to pick up my pre-order next week!
This is how you remake a game Naughty Dog.
I really genuinely appreciate the fact that rather than lambast the game for failing to capture the 'corniness' of the original in favour of a more serious tone, you instead praise the game for tip toeing the line between both. Kudos 👏
I'm glad theyre putting in the effort here but let us not forget how they half assed RE 3
Certified Capcom classic.
Now let's hope we get a 3rd person remake of the original game next! Although the REmake will still be the GOAT of all remakes
Can we get the OG Resident evil on the RE engine 👀
I NEED TO KNOW DO YOU STILL GET THE RPD OUTFIT AFTER BEATING THE GAME AND ALSO IS SEPARATE WAYS STILL THEIR
No separate ways or Ada campaign
I would have combined Separate Ways and Assignment Ada into one single unlockable story.
There's no way they leave it out.
Seperate ways is DLC- Per Credible leakers Apprerently From what I've read all over reddit ect.
I'd be shocked if Seperate ways doesn't make a return eventually.
That said Mercenaries is Confirmed to be free post launch dlc at least, will get our Ada Fix there till Seperate ways Comes out lol
@@firefistgaming117 at least it means that they're taking their time with it. Making it more fleshed out and integrating Assignment Ada into it for a more cohesive side to the story. That's what I would do with it anyway.
@@Drachenkonig2 apparently Leakers say Seperate ways will be Longer and have more content then OG one, So let's hope!
It's official. Here comes the greatest game human being ever made.
Nah not even close lol
@@ghostlegit he spit 200% facts
Delusional.
Terrible game they cut content
@@TeryonTheHuman resident evil 4 isn't even the best horror game let alone this year.
I haven't seen this site give a game a 10 in while. The RE series is having one hell of decade!
I'm gonna miss Ashley's bazookas.
Im actually glad they made an improvement on Ashley she looked like she was 18 in the remake where as in the OG she looked 16 yrs ol this remake version felt more matured than the original
They added Remake voice after the record at the end of the video :D
All I care about is the VR version. I'm waiting to know if it'll be the full game or just a short "mode". No full VR mode, no need to rebuy the game. It's that simple
Except for the unnecessary change in appearance of Salazar including the changed conversation, everything else is just Masterpiece. 👏🏼
No U3 boss fight -_-
They just shouldn't cut content ..if add in more content . Then sweet. But why the hell do they cut content ? That's so lazy and lame
Chill, it was just one boss that was cut
U3 was the worst boss fight in the game anyway lol. They replaced everything they cut with something else so it's fine. Not like RE3R where they flat out just cut stuff out.
What about ada mission, separate ways and mercenaries?
Those 10/10 reviews should be at the most a 9.5/10 because they didn't even offer RE2R Ada to voice Ada in RE4... This is a problem I'm seeing is going to be more common is not being able to keep the same voice actors for multiple titles. The Carlos/Chris voice actor bullshit kind of ruined my experience in RE: Village.
The only question that I want to know is can we still shoot the merchant.
Time to remake resident evil 5
The game still one week away and there are already reviews popping up 😵💫
What I want to ask is if this early review copy of the game fixes those issues with aiming on console.
How about the verdugos and mutated krauser? Are they still moving at hypersonic speed when you shoot them ? If not I'm not buying it
Can someone explain to me why the PS4 can run this game, but any version of the Xbox One (S or X) can’t?????
I Love The Sound, The Scare, And The Voice Actors Of The Original.
I wonder if they fixed that issue with the rain and how nobody could see in it as it filled the screen
Capcom said they would address it in the Day 1 patch, so we’ll see I guess
Yup it's fixed check resetera the demo thread someone posted a vid on the new rain.
@@samza9622 that’s only a relief as it looked really rough there, the rest looked incredible I’m glad they fixed it
Ada kind of looks like Lana from Smallville 😅
They seem to have done everything right with this remake. Except for the sad choice to make Ada and Ashley less hot for some reason. 😔
I can't wait for this. I'm incredibly bummed that my collector's edition was canceled by gamestop, but I'm glad I can get the standard edition none the less. My Chris Redfield statue is just going to be feel lonely without the Leon statue.
Ah man that's a bummer. This is gonna be my first RE collector's edition and I'm so excited.
@@donmcron3334 nice! You might get hooked on getting CE's of games. This is a good one to start off with.
@@itkirk oh I already am lol it’s just usually they sell out faster than I can buy them. Wish I owned more RE ones cause that’s one of my favorite franchises.
Who wrote this review? She wasn't annoying in the original either. Did you even play that game?
is there an alt that lets you keep the jacket in subsequent playthroughs?
wondering if they gonna do re5 next or just gonna leave it with this? but we all hope re1 gets an amazing remake, can you imagine being stalked by yawn or neptune. exploring the house, the amazing enemies you had there
I never forgive capcom for skipping code veronica... it was my first resident evil 😭
I'm not sure they'll remake RE1 again. When REVII came out, they started treating the GC remake as the start of the new timeline. It goes from RE1R-RE4R and picks up again at REVII.
@@TheDalisama i do feel they wanna do re1 but the thing is probably the pressure they have to make it perfect, it was the starter after all. Don't wanna have that game be like the re3 remake
They will never leave it at this. They are making too much money. My guess is Code Veronica, Re1 and 5 will be done again at some point.
Dino Crisis would be their next remake I predict.
ya know after all these years resident evil has always gotten hate. But now that people are finally confirming that resident evil four remake is actually a 10. I feel like this is a drastic change for resident evil as a whole. It has been a very long time since a resident evil game got a 10 this marks history for old resident evil fans and newcomers.
Definitely grabbing this
You're not the only one that says stuff like that it's always been said about other games if this game would have never happened just certain genre would have never been made I don't believe that
8:13
Why does it sound so chopped up? How hard is it to read a script and rerecord this line….
RE4 didn't revolutionize 3rd person shooter. Idk where you all get this thing from. RE4 only made over the shoulder 3rd person view popular.
It revolutionized 3rd person shooter, no third person shooter use re 4 camera
10/10, 🤔RE4 over the true king of survival horror Dead Space, now that's new. But I'm happy the RE4 has improved over its og release. Dead Space and RE4 great choices nonetheless.
As you finished the game is there going to be a infinite durability knife
So glad Capcom nailed it again!
Erm, is it me or is a lot of this footage the EXACT same as the Ign review footage? Like 1min in when he kneecaps the guy, changes gun and runs towards him, then changes to knife. Exact same as 3:45 of thr ign review.
Does it has a new game plus like the original???
I will always think Monster Hunter is one of Capcoms greatest things that they ever made, until someone specifically brings up RE4 then I admit I am wrong
I never played RE4 , I am hype for it !!!
Game of the year, boys... 🍷👌
I’m so intrigued how all these reviews aren’t allowed to mention ANYTHING about Ada/Assignment Ada etc…
I was hoping for a Mr. X like stalker character in 4 remake, but I guess it stays faithful the original. Which is fine.
There's always hope for Verdigo. However brief that may be.
man why a 10 , now i have to go play the whole remade series
Now let's have an RE1 and RE0 over the shoulder remake.
Nope
@@bigpapasm yes
Yes please!
Did he say its good, because i dont want to receive spoilers
But is this game great because it was the first of its kind at the time? especially for its genre or because it's a 10/10 in every aspect. Looking forward to playing it being that it'll be my first time
it was a great action shooter and a good game. but a horrible RE itself
@@bepohal meh it’s a natural progression. Every RE from 1-6 got progressively more action focused and goofy, including the earlier ones.
@@jordanscott4543 that's just wrong. only because progression is happening it doesn't mean that it is true or even ok. re4 wasn't a horror survival like 0-4 & CV. completely different genre. fantastic game but it was a huge bummer as a RE game
@@bepohal sorry, but Jordan is correct. The action gets more apparent as soon as 2 with some stunts done. Also, you can’t tell me Code Veronica didn’t kick it into overdrive with that intro.
@@Mojo1356 no he's not, lol. and that's for obvious reasons. there is a huge difference between progression and stripping everything from a franchise and make a completely new game.
the intro of CV was very action loaded but the gameplay wasn't. so that's not a valid argument, tho you were right with the intro
im so hyped cant wait
I love RE4.. but third person shooters wouldn't exist without GTA 3 which came before resident evil 4.
i already know this is gonna be game of the year
I want a gears of War 3 remake with this combat system 😫
Is it better than the dead space remake???
