Thanks Simon, interestingly I prefer the colours in the image without the supernova, however, I think that the supernova image is a bit more accurate. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic capture. I imaged it a few nights ago. I’m still a beginner with PixInsight. Would you mind doing a video showing how you post processed 101?
I might do once I stack the rest of the data that I gathered over the rest of the week. I wasn't really happy with the final image in this video from a colour perspective. The M31 video I did should help a little though.
Congratulations on capturing it. I managed to capture it with my CAT 51 and hypercam 183 cooled mono camera over three nights (had a lot of trouble with guiding on first night). Typical for the uk, clear skys for a very rare astronomical event coincide with least hours of darkness, but at least everone should get a chance to see or image it.
Wow! Another great image of another galaxy on the list of, favorite galaxies, The Pinwheel Galaxy, for Astrophotographers to image! What a great job and to catch the SN2023 in there as well. What a great time to be ALIVE! Keep up the great work. Sincerely, Rich Williams Astor, Florida 32102 USA!
Thank you Rich. Since recording this I have about 8 hours more on this target but I haven’t had a chance to stack and process it yet. I’m hoping to do that this weekend. I bet you get some nice clear skies in Florida!
@@astrojourneyuk Mark, I can't wait to see the finished image. With 8 more hours of data it will be way better than what you've already done, and I find that hard to believe because your current image is just awesome. I can't imagine it being any better! About Florida, this time of year it's hit and miss with the clouds because we're getting into the rainy season down here in the semi tropics. But when we do have clear skies, the seeing is awesome, for me anyway. I've been into visual observing for almost 2 years now and I'm just beginning my journey into Astrophotography. I hope I can get images just half as good as yours are. Great works Mark!
Thanks for the video. Good job! It finally quit raining here long enough to get out and try my new AM5 with the AT115EDT on M101. Only got five 5-minute subs but the SN is clearly visible and brighter than the galactic core. Amazing.
Great image, thanks for sharing. I have the same EQ6r pro, it’s a beast, reliable, strong, hard not to love it. I’m on the fence for a new scope, would you still recommend a Newtonian ?
I'm on the fence about Newtonians. :) Mainly because they require more maintenance than refractors, but they are a lot cheaper and faster for the money. It's collimation that is the issue, get that nailed and I'd say it's fine and they are great scopes. I need to clean my mirror too, so more hassle again than a refractor, but most people don't have issues with them at all.
I did it on Friday just gone using my redcat51 and 533MCP. It is small but the SN is visible. I managed 2hrs 40mins what with the lack of darkness and the moon.
Could be your rig operated from home? Does ZWO system have such capabilities? Supernova was bright in May. I got it in 5 sec. What is bortle of your location?
Nice image Mark well done for capturing it, I managed it last week only to be photobombed by Elon Musks space junk & Aircraft lol, oh & the collimation was out to aaargh. I don't think the spider would affect the image although if it were tarantula sized then quite possibly. As for your mirror that is pretty filthy shouldn't affect the imaging to much but looks like it could do with a scrub.
I saw your collimation issues, what a pain, oh and photobombing satellites are a pain. :( Mirror cleaning coming soon, mind you I said that last year too! :)
That’s a cracking image Mark! Love the colours, you’ve captured it well mate👍

Great work as always. I have put my kit away for the summer. Great to see people still getting great images in the UK this time of year.
Yes, it doesn’t get completely dark but I still figure it’s dark enough to get something and I’m still using the expensive kit I bought. 😀

Thanks for your kind words. I’ll share the image here when it’s done. Good luck with your transition from visual astronomy.

Glad to hear that you were able to get out and capture your own image of this event. It's a pretty cool one!
Nice Job ! I also shot the same target using NINA and I am working on processing it.
Good luck and I hope you get a good image. 🤞🤞🤞
good job
Thanks Mike.

Excellent, that’s the great thing about this hobby how we can all get involved in imaging significant events like this. Nice one!
300s LRGB? What place do you live?
It’s RGB only and 300s with the Optolong light pollution filter in a bortle 6 sky.
@@astrojourneyuk ohh thanks. L-pro?
Yep, that’s the one.

Sorry, what could be my rig operated from? I live in a bortle 6-7 location.
@@astrojourneyuk Let’s say I am located near you in Brumy, I can still operate my rig in Texas. Could you do it with ASAir?
@anata5127 I could operate elements of it but that’s not really what it’s designed for.

@@astrojourneyuk It's ok my Newtonian's mirrors haven't been cleaned for 10 years so plenty of time lol.
