Linda, I think the little table in the bathroom would be pretty painted a rich dark emerald green. It would really bring out the greens in your artwork there.
I love, love, love your gorgeous gallery wall in the bathroom. I would paint the table sage green which is organic and would compliment the green shades in your photos. Would also use sage green candles. Need taller ones than what you have. I would paint the candelabra flat black. Would get a small chair covered in leopard, a neutral that compliments everything, always looks stunning and never goes out of style. Could buy a wicker chair and paint it sage green too, use leopard covered chair seat and matching back pillow. Would not put southwestern decor with your lovely photos. They have more of a tropical vibe than a southwestern vibe.
My goodness, I don’t know if it was Tim’s face profile & the glimpse of the twinkle in his eyes, but I immediately thought of Tim Conway. (And interesting they have the same first name! Love, love the beautiful photographs taken by your talented friend, Linda! What a great idea to make such a gorgeous display of them! The black & white beret Leah is wearing is very cute! Your channel is so creative and interesting. A great joy to watch and be inspired.
Linda is the kindest, most tender-hearted person and I believe she would never do anything to intentionally embarrass or hurt someone. It seems they all feel like family and tease with each other as such. It feels natural and real. I love the homey informal atmosphere of coming into her home and seeing the real Linda. ♥️ Thank you, Linda, for sharing your beautiful home and gardens with us.
My tips for pantry organization is thrifted baskets. I have one for all my baking ingredients, chocolate chips, coconut vanilla, etc. When I bake I pull the whole basket out. Same thing with my beans, rice. It is so much easier to find things. I love your blouse. Goes with my hippie lifestyle, 😂.
Your home is just as beautiful inside as it is outside. You have put so much thought, work and love into your new home and it is just as lovely as you are. I for one am very Thankful this year for you, Linda Vater, Stewart and Leah. I’ve been watching for the last four years and always learn something and enjoy your videos each and every time. So Thank You for bringing your garden inspired life to all of us! May you and your family have a very special Thanksgiving☺️
I do not have a pantry in my townhouse, so I had to figure out what to do to have one. With that in mind, I moved one of my chest of drawers to the hall outside of the kitchen door and emptied the drawers in order to use it as my pantry. One drawer is baking things, Another drawer is all of my plastic containers and lids. Etc. It has just worked wonderfully and I just say that I have a lateral pantry rather a vertical one. It didn't cost me a thing!
Isn't it funny whenever Linda suggests, "Stewart, we've got to show an image of it right here", and he simply doesn't?😂 Love the picture wall and your outfit, Linda!❤
I totally love your videos Linda! They are full of so much wonderful and interesting content! You not only inspire us with your amazing gardening expertise but your knowledge of design inside your cottage home is just so fun to watch! Just a little idea that helps me get organized in a closet space is using baskets for holding things that don't stack. If your pantry is deep, a rolling drawer might be helpful? I found on Amazon an HOLD N’ STORAGE Heavy-Duty Premium Collection Pull Out Cabinet Organizer that looked like something I'm going to invest in. (sorry I can't attach a link)
Greetings, Linda. We have no doubt that your ingenuity and creativity will work magic for your 2 table Thanksgiving set up in your kitchen. When you first gave us a tour of your cottage we were aghast that your new home lacked a large formal living room and had no formal dining room; we so enjoyed watching how you embellished your large elegant table with your beautiful table linens and tablescapes, along with the adornments on your sideboard. Now, those experiences live on in fond memories and are captured in videos of years passed (which we will re-watch). Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
I’ve taken the organizing mantra “Like Things Together” into my pantry. Soups are grouped together, salad items, staples, condiments, sweets & snacks, cereal & crackers, etc. And any appliances are lined up on one side, heaviest on the bottom shelf to lightweight on the top. Creating a spice drawer also helped free up space.
I organized mine according to how often I use items. Daily use items are front and center, and rarely used items are on the tippy top requiring a step stool.
I bought some black wire metal baskets with copper handles from Target to organize some items in my pantry. One has chips and snacks in it, one has candy treats, one has small bags and cans of baking ingredients, etc. For all my canned goods I used double and single tier lazy susan's. I have the clear, square plastic larger canisters for my flour, sugar, nuts, etc. I don't go to any extreme method makes everything easy to see and in reach.
Pantry shelf cleanup: I have the rubbermade rounders that spin around for most of my kitchen shelves and in my refrigerator. Also great for spices, olive oil, vinegars, etc. inside the cupboard by the stove. Easy to find items inside the cabinets! Never used on the top of counters.
My favorite Trader Joe’s holiday purchases is lemon, ricotta cheese that I pair with their thin ginger snap cookies it’s like a little cheesecake.! I also love the waxed amaryllis bulbs! They are a great price compared to other vendors.
Hi from Annie. some great ideas there like those bathroom picts. You could move that blue sofa up to the front window in your parlor room then the rest of the lounge chairs against the wall and then the one or two tables would fit nicely in the centre of the rooms.
I’m loving the place setting and the use of the leaves! I have found a few of the sycamore leaves in my sister’s neighborhood in Kentucky. I took them back to my home in Ohio and plan on using them on my Thanksgiving table.
Many things to be thankful for, but still many prayers going up for our crazy world going mad. I think Thanksgiving will be wonderful in the cottage....I didn't buy the turkey towels, but I did buy the turkey aprons, one for each of my daughters and myself! The cooks will be decked out. Also, where is that beautiful top from. LOVE it! Thanks Linda, we are very grateful for you and your little gang!
Hey Linda thanks for sharing. I thought there were three bathrooms in your home? Not understanding your comment about the bathroom gallery saying it sort of public bathroom. Primary bathrooms/master bathrooms are normally not the case. Have you considered renting a long table & placing in the parlor for Thanksgiving dinner this way you can set a beautiful table and use the bar as food station.
Yes, please! It reminds me of the style of a Joseph Hirsch painting at our local art museum, but it doesn't seem to be one of his. I would love to know who the artist is.
I watched this video the other day & today thinking how you was planning to relocate the dad's chair & the bar stools to make more room for Thanksgiving gathering. So today adding my extra table leaf for Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday & thought of your video & I got the idea to move our buffet to the hallway so would have more room around the table. Then decided I would not move it back but leave it there until christmas. :D
i am in love with the prints from Sister Golden. Found two that will be perfect in my bedroom on a wall that has been calling for some beautiful artwork. Thank you for showing her fine work!
I have been using the slim wall ledge picture rails...from Ikea! in white and a couple of different lengths... they are the perfect fix for wonkiness...also, I keep the rails permanently in place, once I like the arrangement...BUT I can change out the artwork and photos effortlessly, without having to rehang, re-nail...etc.
Linda, I learned a tip from a professional framer. When you hang any photos or art under glass, make sure the glass is not ordinary glass if the frames are going to be exposed to sunlight such as in your bathroom. Museum quality glass is required so your art does not fade from the UV rays. You may have already taken this precaution , but so your viewers know. Good job and beautiful photos.
And now your wall of flowers is an inspiration in all our minds!! It's gorgeous. I just have a tiny little warning about the suitcases, however. My husband got one, and unlike mine, it has no outside pockets where you might keep hard copies of reservations or travel arrangements, or liquids etc., that you can pull out easily. Also, when his case is open, it takes up twice as much room in the hotel as mine which just has a flap lid (with the pocket) which can lean against a wall. Here's the kicker: when he opens it, the clothes etc call easily fall out, whereas mine stay put in the case. If you have to open it at the airport, or wherever, it's a bit tricky. If those don't seem too much of a pain, then just "carry on" travelling! I love, love love your flower arrangement. The colour is almost a cranberry to me. Perfect!💚
Thank you for another great video❤️I love how you put fairy lights in your flower arrangements. I actually did the same for my Father when he was in the hospital for a few weeks. I got him a Christmas cactus and it made his hospital room feel cosy with the little lights.Sadly, he passed away on Sunday, I brought the plant home and placed it next to his picture and now it feels comforting to me☺️
Good Evening Linda. I just received my copy of the Garden Journal. Just in time for me to record planting of my allium bulbs. JulieAnn from zone 6B Dutchess County NY
I love those botanical prints!!!! Love the colors and the gold simple frames. Would look nice all through your cottage hill home. Will love the wicker painted black, will look very dramatic!!!
Our dining room table has 2 leafs - so it seats 8 comfortably & I found it at a thrift store marked down to 25.00 from 50.00 believe it was January 2022. It did not come w/chairs, but I already had plenty of chairs.
Love that you gather leaves to use as fall decor. I do the same with pinecones and acorns as well. Do you spray them with something so that they dont crumble? And your thanksgiving ideas are lovely. When you have a smaller home you have to get creative. Just lovely Linda!
Linda, I can’t thank you enough for sharing Sister Golden’s art work. Wow! The hardest part was choosing. I want a gallery wall of her work. I bought 2 Christmas presents, confident that they will be loved and not duplicated.
I love the gallery wall and even more that it is in the bathroom! As much as I love you and all the inspiration you give for flowers and gardening, I don't know that I could be friends with someone that matches her gift wrap to the sofa..🤣🤣 you are so out of my league.😮💨
Linda, since friends share, I wanted to tell you about packing cubes. I get mine on Amazon, which ever color and type move you. But they have changed my packing game. Everything is so tidy when they’re in their own little packages.
Yes! Before Thanksgiving I always clean my oven and reorganize all my drawers. I clean my pantry and refill my stock of items I need. I go thru my coffee bar and reorganize that. Kind if a spring cleaning in late fall! Love your top today! Where is it from?
Also, I am starting to get more organize in my pantry. It seems like I try to put things the way they were at the beginning…then they get to other areas lol. Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours. Hope each one of you have a very Happy 💛🧡💛Thanksgiving …., by the way, we’re thankful to have you Linda as part of our UA-cam family with your team!🍁🧡💛🍁
I just found your youtube channel and few weeks ago and just love it. Today I got a surprise when you mentioned Sister Golden. I have visited their store in Door County many times in the last couple of years in Fish Creek, Door County, WI. Door County is a wonderful place to visit. I am lucky to have a niece who lives with her family in Door County so I have a place to stay when I visit the area.
wonderful Thanksgiving decorating ideas Linda, also love your collection of photographs and framing on bathroom wall! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! 🦃🍂🍁🧡
I so enjoy these videos each year. Watching put things together and plan your family gatherings, it sort of calms me down. Thanksgiving is not generally celebrated over here across the Atlantic unless perhaps there is an American family connection. 25th Dec is the 'big' day' and although its roots are a celebration of the birth of Jesus it has just become a big hulabaloo of decoration and present shopping in a very samey materialistic way. This has become a dark cloud of stress for me. So listening to you planning some traditional more simple elements of your day, all of which I think are really special and welcoming and personal as always. Have a beautiful family day.
Pantry: definitely the lazy Susans and clear hard plastic square boxes for all the little loose stuff. And locate frequently used stuff in the prime real estate- seasonal stuff rotates to hard to reach areas when ‘off-season’. Also , on the inside of the door, I post a shopping list that has a plastic cover on it so I can check off items I need to replenish with a dry erase marker. I take a picture with my phone when I need to shop. ✅
I love your gallerywall, Linda, it is awesome… And also the flowers and leaves for Thanksgivving… I wish you and all the people you love… a happy Thanksgiving.
I also enjoy celebrating Thanksgiving all on it's own. I enjoy table scaping and your ideas are wonderful. For turkey feathers I have only to step out in to my yard!!! I enjoy decorating with natures bounty and the gift of family. Then on Dec 1st I start with my winter/Christmas decor. It is coming fast this year so it seems. Just received a notice from Amazon that my garden journal has been delayed....hope it comes soon as I have much to put in it. Happy Thanksgiving.
Love your new designs gif the holiday and for the table settings and the extra table so sophisticated. I’m not that fancy with my adult son and family that’s all I have so I don’t go all out but appreciate how you and others decorate. I wish I had your pantry I just have one cupboard with 3 pull out drawers and above cabinet which I wish I had more room for my blender etc. I can’t wait to see the finish touch.
Why not get some of those lazy susan turning stands and you can organize things on them in your pantry. Or install some pull out slider shelves so you don't have stuff 4 and 5 deep on those stationary shelves.
You do so much like I do, I think I remember the candy/cookie cloche was thrifted? It’s so cute, I wish I could find one like that.Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for all the inspiration through the year!!!
You're so cute Linda, you're not so late to the party, I'm REALLY late to the party. I just got home from a 10-day trip to the New England states, and I found I am in desperate need of new luggage, your topic about new luggage is very timely for me! Thank you very much sweetie!!! BYW, love the photos in your bathroom. I'd like to know your secret to hanging them so perfectly even and straight?😮
Everything is beautiful Linda, I really enjoy your channel. I understand how much you wanted to enjoy thanksgiving in your garden parlor; have you thought about maybe having a dessert and coffee or drinks outside around your firepit snuggled up in your new outdoor throw blankets and party lighting. This Thanksgiving our dinner will be held in a wonderful location. My daughter has her own photography business and built a 16x20 greenhouse out of old pane windows she calls it the glass cottage.
Hi, Linda: You have outdone yourself!! The holiday decorations for Thanksgiving and Christmas sound so beautiful! A suggestion for your bathroom re-do. I wondered if the dark green paint that you have on your other wicker furniture would look better than black, on your bathroom table. The photos seem to have the same dark green in them if I recall correctly. Also, would a band of gold paint on the outer rim of the wooden table in the bathroom make sense? It would coordinate with the gold frames. Also, you had asked for suggestions in your pantry. I would suggest making labels for the shelves after everything is organized. That helps to find items much easier, and to be able to return them to their proper place, so your cabinets stay looking beautifully organized. I hope these suggestion help. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!
Linda, you may have already told you're viewers but the light above the artwork where you stood in from to the pantry... where can I find it and is it battery operated?
A few videos ago, you mentioned sharing a recipe for maple shortbread cookies. I would like to make those for Thanksgiving giveaways. I’m unable to find where the recipe is posted. Please share or tell me where to look. Thank you!
I could see some beautiful vintage glass vases in varying sizes in greens and merlot or hot pink ... would reflect the window light. You could add twigs or seasonal stems. As for the gorgeous coordinating wrapping paper.. it always looks so elegant til people start sending or bringing gifts in others styles and colors. The trick I have is to buy some paper handle bags in solid colors,,, like your golds and blues with tissue paper, and just put the different gifts in the bags and put them under the tree! Problem solved and theme in tack! For the little metal turkeys on the tablescape... I put a Ferrero Rocher in each one. The gold foil and brown wrapper lend itself to any fall color palette. I know many have asked about the kitchen table.... I just don't feel Linda Vater vibes when I see it. But then, you seem to be reinventing yourself. The Thanksgiving tables and themes are what I associate with you .
It's hard to say because I can't remember what else is going on your bathroom, but one thing that you see a lot of today but I don't find that trendy is teak, so I might paint that white wicker a shade of brown so that it looks like brown wicker, and I might add a teak bench or stool, which shouldn't be hard to find at the moment. That way you can add other natural elements which will add some warmth and character. I know I'm an outlier, but I don't like matching gallery walls, although I think you did a nice job with yours. In the future, though, I might think about picking just three favorite photos in a larger size for more impact. You also might think about doing one large flower photo, sort of a la Georgia O'Keefe 💚
@@LindaVaterpeople are so noisy 😂 it's your private space and very beautiful bathroom try to enjoy it and Thanksgiving. We know with all the details and being busy we often forget to relax and enjoy. Hopefully by the new year you can take a much needed vacation with hubs to relax.
So wonderful finally there is someone else who doesn’t mix their holidays. So much more meaningful this way. Let the season be the season.
It’s definitely more tropical.
Oh, I agree! But there are so many gorgeous fabrics in Santa Fe and they are not all Southwestern in motif. It will take some searching for sure.

I love your gallerywall, Linda,
it is awesome…
And also the flowers and leaves for Thanksgivving…
I wish you and all the people you love…
a happy Thanksgiving.
Linda. Your gallery wall is beautiful! You did a great job. So nice! Very beautiful for your home!
I've wanted one of those TJ's ivy topiaries for a year, but have not had good luck with ivy in the past. What's the trick to keep them looking well?
Please do share the kind of finish for these prints I’ve been wanting to do something similar in my master bath that can take steam
That is absolutely stunning!!
Breathtaking gallery wall! Love love the vibrancy and little gold frames!
Every thing looks Beautiful ❤
Love the intention on all the detail...
Completely the way I roll.
Attention to detail...
Beautiful❤
It would be fun to change the images seasonally
Nice idea but too time consuming!
I love the wrapping paper!
Hi Linda, Love your sweater!
Love ypur blouse!
Me too!!!
Love the complimentary red/green colors in your gallery wall. Good idea to not use mats. Gold frames perfect.
Fun video
Stunning
Everything is beautiful Linda, I really enjoy your channel.
I understand how much you wanted to enjoy thanksgiving in your garden parlor; have you thought about maybe having a dessert and coffee or drinks outside around your firepit snuggled up in your new outdoor throw blankets and party lighting.
This Thanksgiving our dinner will be held in a wonderful location.
My daughter has her own photography business and built a 16x20 greenhouse out of old pane windows she calls it the glass cottage.
Sounds beautiful
I hope we can! I’ll be watching the weather every day until thanksgiving arrives!
Loving that gallery wall
Linda’s blue top - it’s beautiful ! Where did you purchase it from please?
Bought some similar bags as a retirement gift to myself. I love them.
would you share your menu besides the turkey ???
Question: aren't you concerned that the humidity in the bathroom will cause the photo prints to stick to the glass without mats?
Linda, you may have already told you're viewers but the light above the artwork where you stood in from to the pantry... where can I find it and is it battery operated?
Ordered the new journal for my daughter today!! Are you listing g a link for the seagrass hamper??
Check out the description box below. :-)
Hurrah for the pantry!
So beautiful! Great idea
Very nice video
What is the name of the black canvas tote that you had when talking about your new luggage?
Your pantry is neater than mine 😊
Beautiful art for a gallery wall. I’m not clear on why it’s a public bathroom that will be seen by others. Isn’t that the private master bath?
It’s a very large bathroom and one of the things people want to see when they come see my cottage as it was once a porch!
