Not really. Everything humans do, a subset of people try and take it to as high a level as possible. That's all "Pro" sports, the Olympics, and basically all competition is about. Why would food be any different??? And you apparently either haven't eaten truly high end cooking, or you're one of those people who don't take all that much pleasure in food. And unlike trying to experience pro-football, which will quickly land most people in the hospital, it's really not hard to cook amazing food. And too much time on their hands? Have you looked up the average time people spend watching TV and on the internet??? Maybe, if people got off their asses and actually did something like cook real food, we wouldn't have a 33% fat rate, and a 34% obesity rate in America. Yes, 67% of Americans are either regular fat, or outright obese. That's just over 2/3 of the population. Never mind the 30-ish percent of the people who are prediabetic directly because of a crap diet.
Every French Culinary students favorite knife skill lol. If you can get the carrot down, the rest are simple.
Glad to see you back Arrouzé.
lol and chefs complain about the long hours... it would appear they have far too much time on their hands
