this video is going to be a part of a series like those ariana and demi channels where we just collect live vocals and stick it all into one video, with the benefit of note naming and small bits of channel personality shining through in commentary. in hindsight i got so caught up with naming haseuls notes that talking about her her voice overall just flew over my head so ill just say here that its so easy for her and her vibrato is so rounded and even every video i'll state the members name+their colour for the first time they show and the second time it'll only be the notes! i also have an mr removed version of the fairy tale cover on twitter here: twitter.com/gg_vocals/status/1023399167257849857
GG_Vocals Ik this may be a lot of work but could you please make a video about YYXY's hidden vocals and adlibs? I think they did a wonderful job with the vocals on the mini-album and I'd like to see a deeper analysis from an expert.
so this is going to be a long comment and im not the best informed when it comes to this, but to try to shorten it a bit,, there is the octave scale which goes 0-10, using letters as it goes into another octave. example: C3 D3 E3 F3 G3 A3 B3 C4 so on and so forth the lower the octave is, the lower the note is and vice versa which is kind of obvious. vibrato is basically when there is comfort/support in a note, and the person is comfortable with the note. also bonus note there are notes that go in between the octave scale, one being sharp notes. not all notes have sharp notes, the ones that do are C D F G A B (all except E, and the sharp note is represented by having # in between the letter and the number.) also there are "b" notes, such as Eb4 or Bb4 which i believe are the only ones with b notes. any questions pls reply with them and remember i'm not a genius when it comes to this,, i can't identify notes or if something has vibrato, i'm new to music theory edit: there are three voice types which your larynx will shift to adjust to, being chest voice (which you use to hit lower notes, mostly, but you can hit higher notes using chest voice), mixed voice (which is a mix of head&chest voice) and head voice, which will allow you to hit higher notes. also falsetto and head voice are not the same thing. falsetto is airier than head voice, and that's how you usually tell if it's falsetto or head voice.
Don't take the next sentence as dirty, it doesn't have a double meaning: What she does with her tongue drives me crazy, Jesus Christ. I love that woman.
OMG yves live vocals!! bbc really won when they got her. Also Kim lip needs to be a bit more confident singing live she gets extremely uncomfortable when someone asks her to sing while jinsoul would push anyone aside to get a chance lmao.
PhillisWang I think it’s fair to give the vocal attention to Haseul and Chuu since they literally have nothing besides singing. Also they have the most footage debut and pre debut of them killing it live Yves is very talented but she trained to be a dancer not a vocalist (even though she’s effortlessly killing that role too). Chuu and Haseul being the only members that can currently belt and pull a note out of nowhere like it’s nothing they should have the most difficult parts of a song but in terms of line distributions I want Yves, Jinsoul and Heejin to have the most lines since they have a voice that suits the upcoming concept and have a voice the general public would like.
I think because Yves is such a triple threat in talent people really focused on her dancing. Like Kim Lip, and Jinsoul.. who both have very decent vocal talents. (Jinsoul definitely being the best supporter and ad lib girl at the moment. ) But Yves music video was so dance and story inspired, no one focuses on her killer notes. The girl can dance, sing, and she's visual and body goals. She's a walking swan goddess. 😂 This entire group is a gem.
John Swift I agree completely. IfJinsoul couldn’t rap shed probably be one of the main vocalists but I do think she’ll be one of the lead vocalists too. Yves is the same - she’s got the visuals (they all do!) and will probably be a main dancer but she’s def deserving to be a main/lead vocal. With Kim Lip she started as a dancer but has a nice voice so BBC is promoting her as more of a vocalist
PhillisWang you're acting like Yves is underrated. People praise Haseul more because fans often ignore her. And of course; Haseul is amazing and deserves to be a main vocal. Yves is good too but no one is sleeping on her
Why is kim lip so shy singing live :/ And yves live performance wow just wow! Also jinsoul pronunciation always gets to me like it never fails to make me laugh.
i know kim lip has such a beautiful voice! In some vlives you can see JinSoul trying to get her to sing live more probably because she knows that she has so much potential!
HeavenlyLove47 I noticed jinsoul tying to get her to sing and she visibly gets uncomfortable especially when it’s a low note poor bby :( I’m sure in time she will get a bit more comfortable it’s not easy pulling a note or a song on the spot, I remember yves first trying to sing live she was literally shaking that’s how uncomfortable she was and now she’s on jinsouls level of confidence she literally sings with pride anytime anyone asks.
i used to think maybe hyunjin was airy because of a vocal technique or something but im pretty sure she’s just naturally that way considering the fact that the others have more full voices and im assuming they have the same trainers so why would they have hyunjin use a drastically different technique in that case? she reminds me of artists like suran that have really unique voices that people often call bad technique among other things. gowon is a case similar but also kind of different. she has a thin(?) and light voice naturally as well but she still sounds full and thins out/gets airier the longer she hold a note I think ( some notes in one and only sound that way to me ) which I think makes loona so unique, they have really different voices that harmonize surprisingly well.
I think Gowon also has like a very slight raspiness to her voice, even if it sounds sweet and cute at the same time... or should I say "crunchiness"? Not even joking, I think "crunchy" actually describes it well :o In any case, it's not a bad thing but something unique!
Yves is just so flawless. Her vocals are so crisp and sharp, her visuals are absolutely breathtaking, she’s an amazing dancer and she can even rap. PLEASE SHOW ME A WEAKNESS YVES SO I KNOW YOU’RE REAL.
Haseul wow!!! 😍i liked her since she debuted with her solo Let me in (still one of my fave songs form all the LOONA members-singles), and watching her fun personality on their loona tv videos i like her even more. she’s so talented, all the girls in loona are! a big group is coming to snatch our wigs really 👍🏻😆
God I love them all. Both of your video ideas at the end sound good. I think, based on what we've gotten from her in studio and her personality, Olivia might actually be lead/main vocal power and talent level in the near future as she gets more confident and practices, her tone that varies in her different ranges is probably my favorite general vocal tone of ot12 after jinsoul
This is the video I’d definitely like to show to some people who truly believed Haseul isn’t a great vocalist and said Chuu was far superior. Don’t get me wrong Chuu can SIIIIING but like Haseul is clearly the top vocalist of Loona
Katz she’s arguably the better vocalist but I think they’re both around the same level technique wise as they both have their own respective vocal strengths and weaknesses. As for vocal color, although both of them have very beautiful voices imo I personally prefer haseuls, she sounds like a literal angel when she sings 🥺💓
I think chuu has a higher pitch which would allow her to hit high notes easily but still haseul is really amazing don't come at me or smth if I'm wrong I barely know anything abt how vocals work
After watching this video I need people to stop sleeping on Choerry, Go Won, and Olivia's voice like seriously so much potential considering their age!! People also sleep on Vivi and Yeojin's voice but thats tea for another day. A good voice does not always have to be a powerhouse js
HeavenlyLove47 Choerry especially because that girl HAS vocals. Olivia has good lower register and for gowon I need to see a bit more because so far her vocals definitely ain’t doing it for me, but I’m on the fence because I’m sure there’s more to it.
HaSeul really took me by surprise during Line&Up cause - where did all the nasality go?! Why doesn't she sing like that usually? I'm just... I honestly thought she was a bit overrated for the Main Vocal position but after that I really don't know what to think... I wish Lippie would be more comfortable singing live, I adore her tone. JinSoul just need to sing more, period
Emily Nini, Stan BTS & LOONA Obviously the "thought" was completely overlooked there. But yeah. Her voice was so nasal that, despite liking it since the start I _thought_ there were others more suited for the main vocal position. Not anymore
Multifandom Dreamer being nasally isn't necessarily a bad thing. Jessica from snsd was one of the main vocals and she was pretty nasal. What matters is the technique and that's something Haseul has. A LOT
mulan4ever14 I know nasality isn't bad. Kim Lip is my LOONA bias & I can't deny her nasality and Jessica, since you mentioned her,is one of my all time favorites. It's just... HaSeul was somehow too nasal for me sometimes? She's in no way bad and I love her voice but I doubted her sometimes. Not anymore as I've gotten used to her and can enjoy her voice now but it used to be there
bbc really needs to stop sleeping on haseul fr fr, she's got arguably the clearest head voice when singing high notes in loona and maybe even all of kpop, just look at let me in, her belts are clear as diamonds and she doesn't get as many lines as she deserves like the leader she is
I recommend doing the produce48 video first, since it's probably going to bring attention to your channel. Also can you at some point do something related to the The Perfect Red Velvet album pls ^^
I love all of your videos and the editing is always on point! I will never get tired of this channel I would love to see a video relating produce 48, as you suggested at the end of this video.
If the concept for the debut is going to be dark as Kim Lip said Yves and Jinsoul better have the most lines (includes rap) their deep and mature voice will suit the dark concept the most. Maybe Heejin too. Kim Lip has the aesthetics down but her voice is a bit too high pitched compared to the others I have mentioned. Chuu and Haseul also being extremely talented vocalist can get the difficult parts.
I have now found another singing voice I could die listening to. I’m basically that type of person who’s never really had a taste for unique voices like Rose, Jimin (aoa and bts), etc. but I’m more in love with smooth, more technique-focused voices like Wendy, Taeyeon, IU, Jungkook, Seohyun, and the list does on but basically my point is IM IN LOVE WITH YVES VOICE ITS SO BEAUTIFUL AND GENTLE LIKE HONESTLY
안다빈 iu and jungkook really arent technique focused people and definitely focus more on their tone and style but the rest of your list are amazing singers in a vocalist/technical sense
Haseul woah~~ daebak! I really hope BBC includes such amazing high notes in some of the next Loona songs. This entire group smells like talent♡ Kim Lip😂😂😂😂
your intro was so nice and clean i was like shocked i had to watch it 5 more time and haseul !!!!!!omgggggg she is so so so good thanks for uploading this im glad i saw it
Thanks for compiling this! I've been looking for clips of the girls singing live. Have you seen the vlive where Haseul and Heejin singing Fairytale? It's not recent but I find it super interesting since yyxy did too; I guess it's a song they all really like.

in hindsight i got so caught up with naming haseuls notes that talking about her her voice overall just flew over my head so ill just say here that its so easy for her and her vibrato is so rounded and even
every video i'll state the members name+their colour for the first time they show and the second time it'll only be the notes!
i also have an mr removed version of the fairy tale cover on twitter here: twitter.com/gg_vocals/status/1023399167257849857

GG_Vocals i love you for these videos lol
Lol imagine if haseul joined masked singer.
RonnCas Ss i was thinking that yesterday omg.. imagine her singing an opera song...
dahlia virtago I hope she does
This HAS to be one of the first things they do when they debut
I'd choke to death
RonnCas Ss yes oh my god
"Why is she so airy compared to anyone else" BICHT HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH
me, pretending i know what all of this means: ugh i love vocal legends
uwu daehwi

edit: there are three voice types which your larynx will shift to adjust to, being chest voice (which you use to hit lower notes, mostly, but you can hit higher notes using chest voice), mixed voice (which is a mix of head&chest voice) and head voice, which will allow you to hit higher notes. also falsetto and head voice are not the same thing. falsetto is airier than head voice, and that's how you usually tell if it's falsetto or head voice.
Scary thing is, they will definitely get better. Their potential is honestly staggering.
when jinsoul said out of control.... i really felt that

Don't take the next sentence as dirty, it doesn't have a double meaning:

OMG yves live vocals!! bbc really won when they got her. Also Kim lip needs to be a bit more confident singing live she gets extremely uncomfortable when someone asks her to sing while jinsoul would push anyone aside to get a chance lmao.
OEC's broadcast where Choerry couldn't get her solo right was hilarious 😂Lippie was so done lmaoo
Haseul is obviously amazing. But no one is mentioning Yves. Don’t sleep on my bias! Lol😅 but for real. Yves is a vocal queen.
PhillisWang I think it’s fair to give the vocal attention to Haseul and Chuu since they literally have nothing besides singing. Definitely haseul has the biggest range in loona
I think chuu also cosidering her deep voice
I think it's Yves check their latest video!
@@blueorangeade712 Haseul, Chuu, and Yves have the widest ranges I think.
Yves is just so flawless. Her vocals are so crisp and sharp, her visuals are absolutely breathtaking, she’s an amazing dancer and she can even rap. PLEASE SHOW ME A WEAKNESS YVES SO I KNOW YOU’RE REAL.
her habitual winks that she can never seem to control xD
her awkwardness
That "me" you put over the staff covering his ears.... iconic.
The C5 vibrato when they were all together was actually Olivia surprisingly I think her range is gonna be underrated compared to others
Haseul is a goddess omg
HASEUL AND CHUU HAVE REALLY PERFECT VOICE OMG OMG OMG
I'm so happy you are an orbit. Your videos are always super well made (quality wise and the editing!)
This is a great video, thanks so much. I want Godseul to hit freaking G5 on the Debut song 😁
But she just did a B4.
I am so sorry.
😢
The first clip of Haseul had me *SCALPED* and now i cannot focus on anything else cause shes so good.
FOR SOMEONE WHO HAD TWO WEEKS OF TRAINING, YVES IS KILLING THE GAME!!
Haseul is a freaking goddess.
The E3 was really good! And it sounded kinda comfortable, which makes it even more impressive.
Elegant Taehyung profile pic suits your comment haha

THE INTRO
kim lip #1 stan Right?! It's the most aesthetic clip I've ever seen....
Will I ever stop being angry that JinSoul is being promoted as a rapper instead of a vocalist? The answer is no
Edit: I was wrong
Lena Carey
shes being promoted as a rapper?.. shes been doing both since sitr wdym
right she's mostly likely gonna be main rapper and lead vocalist.
I FOUND AN INTELLECTUAL WHO THINKS THE SAME WAY AS ME
HeavenlyLove47 actually shes a lead rapper, as I remember her stating back when she debuted that the main rapper is coming. So it's probably go won
in 'my favorite' she sang a lot so maybe she could be lead vocalist too
"A5 OH MY GOD! nevermind.."

And yet why does Haseul barely get any lines when she’s one of the best vocalists in the group
your video is quality content
That random zoom on Yves gay panic 😂😂😂 and Kim Lip looks really comfortable singing low, can she go lower?
Omg that A5 at the end, I wished I chuu would’ve continued it
she kinda did, it peaked kinda B5/C6
*WHY IS SHE SO AIRY COMPARED TO EVERYONE ELSE LOL* 😂
They really did Hyunjin like that 😂😂😂
bbc really needs to stop sleeping on haseul fr fr, she's got arguably the clearest head voice when singing high notes in loona and maybe even all of kpop, just look at let me in, her belts are clear as diamonds and she doesn't get as many lines as she deserves like the leader she is

I’m mesmerized by Chuu’s vocals all the time. Like even when I hear her parts in OT12 songs, I can’t help but smile.
Love your intro it makes me much more excited on their comeback damnn 😣😣
Can you believe Haseul is an actual angel
she's actually an angel, not a white bird
I have now found another singing voice I could die listening to. I’m basically that type of person who’s never really had a taste for unique voices like Rose, Jimin (aoa and bts), etc. but I’m more in love with smooth, more technique-focused voices like Wendy, Taeyeon, IU, Jungkook, Seohyun, and the list does on but basically my point is IM IN LOVE WITH YVES VOICE ITS SO BEAUTIFUL AND GENTLE LIKE HONESTLY

Well, this is one hell of a channel!
