The history of all peoples of African descent across the Caribbean, North America, South America and other parts of the world is richly steeped with Heroes. We captured images of a sample of the most noted heroes that contributed to the fight against oppression and served as a motivating factor toward emancipation (Nanny, Dutty Boukman, Toussaint Louverture are just a few).
At the time of this video, the world celebrates 186 years of emancipation.!

** Remember, on 1 August 1985 the government of Trinidad and Tobago declared Emancipation Day a national holiday to commemorate the abolition of slavery. This was 151 years after slavery was abolished.
