This stuff should be mandatory in school. We had a teacher in the 8th grade that spent probably 3/4 of the year on the holocaust. I appreciate her for that I hope its still like that everywhere.

I am blessed to hear his story. We should never take freedom for granted. We must remember the survivors of the Shoah & WWII, and honor the millions lost. I am so proud & grateful to be an American. How …why …what …..the inhumanity! Is there a God? I was compelled to learn and read about the Holocaust and attended survivors testimony’s in my remote location in Washington State. Thanks to the foundation, I can learn more since I am unable to read much now. I was raised to be open minded and taught that a church was not necessary to pray to God. I believe religion has caused so much suffering and war. It is sad so many people don’t understand or want to….years ago I was upset at my own sisters, when they did not want to listen to me talk about the Holocaust. They said it was to horrible to think about, and I became infuriated telling them that we must not forget what Hitler did to the Jewish people or it could happen again! I wear a star around my neck, people ask if I am am Jewish. I was drawn to it, now it symbolizes to me the light and love of or creator. Also to never forget the innocent loss of so many Jewish family’s. Never forget….when good men do nothing ….evil prevails! My Uncle was one of the US Solders that liberated a concentration camp, he just passed a couple of years ago…. He was so tortured by what he witnessed he would chock up and not talk about it. The symbol of the cross always bothered me. I have recently listened to many survivor testimonials by the Shoah Foundation. Listening to your life’s story helps me to feel and see the time and era of this horrible time in history! You are a kind and loving man, bless you!
Yeah, for real. I listen to a lot of these testimonies just to keep in perspective how lucky I am. And given the right conditions, something like this may happen again. Almost all the testimonials say that they didn't run because they thought it just couldn't happen.
Water blast people we are here in America! Which most of us take the goodness of God in this country for granted. How selfish and unthankful of people we are. God bless is Jewish people that have so suffered in their life! How can anyone continue their life from the horrible past of suffering and not be affected for the rest of their life! What a nightmare they have lived!

A friend who was born in Czechoslovakia came here when he was 4 with his parents. The Germans had taken their farm from them. I don't know anything else. I was always too scared to ask him, I didn't want to bring up sad memories. He was a GREAT Guy.

It's SO sad to think, that for all the memories and horrors of the things they went through...you know there are so many other things they did not/could not ever tell. Locked away in the "safe place" of their minds, and stored there. And some things, I'm sure...were just way to painful to recall. SO sad to think that we are seeing things all around us today, that look like they could be headed in that same direction...History repeating itself. Lord, help us all!

This is by far the best interview about the Holocaust. I've watched this a few times and the intelligence of Marty and the way he tells what happened so well.
I honestly have on idea how all these people got through the holocaust. What was done to them was so horrific, cruel and inhumane. God bless each and every one of them. Total respect for them. It’s scary that countries are still in battles over religion and race, even now. 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️🏴

We had a family friend who had the tattoo on his arm. I asked him one day about it. He told me he and his Mother were Polish and they sent them both to Auschwitz, he was 5 at the time. I didn't want to ask him anymore about that. I knew all about Auschwitz and I didn't want to bring back more memories to him.

One of the worst camps was the stone quarry where thousands were forced to carry very heavy rocks up the “stairs of death “ at Mauthausen.
I sure wonder what all these survivors would think about politics of today and the anti semetism building today!

He was judging them but they were czech peasants etc. He had to deal with British and Nordic people to get the humanity he was looking for.
