He is put to use by fake hand offs and slot reads for the big play down field but still he should get more touches because he will wear down all defenders during the game.
Yeah, I don't think Bradford really has what it takes. He was great in college but I haven't seen that transfer to the NFL. And it's been like what? 5 years?
He didn't run a 4.25... but the 18 mph is an average. They aren't taking, instant velocity and acceleration at any one point, yet just the average it takes to run 40 yards in 4.35 seconds.
Keenan Allen is by far the best WR in that draft class and the San Diego Chargers stole him in the 3rd round. Teams fucked up passing on him because of his college injury.
Will Ford Tayvon Austin is a great punt returner...But I stand by my words that Keenan Allen is the better WR. He gave Richard Sherman the business and shook him out of his shoes at the line of scrimmage, and had 64 yards against Sherman in the Chargers defeat of the Seahawks in week 2... KA is 6'3" or 6'4", so he's 7 or 8 inches taller than TA. That is very significant. If TA doesn't get distance than the DB will usually prevent TA from making a catch, but in the case of KA, he's taller than any DB I can think of in the NFL. If he didn't break his collar bone I am confident my Chargers would've made the playoffs. It was win and we're in, but we had far too many injuries to beat the Chiefs at Arrowhead, unlike the year before....
BarYesu83 Tavon*not Tayvon…. also Kam Chancellor,Richard Sherman,Brandon Browner,Stanley Jean-Baptiste,Keith McGill,Sean Smith,Taylor Mays, and George Iloka are all 6'3-6'4
MrYoyoman12345 Yeah He was starting when that comment was made, and Kennan Allen Is raw but If you put them on the same team Patterson is starting over him. He's the type of guy that you just put the ball in his hands and watch him run. Idk why the Vikings either can't or won't do that
Dub V he was given the damn ball.. lets see what happens when they start given him the ball.. once again will be explosive.. I became a rams fan once I saw he was recruited by them
In Tav's 1st year in an NFL offense he admitted to not quite understanding the playbook and calls, which is why later in the season we saw his progression, it wasnt a new QB thing it was just him Progressing and Growing and the way I see it in his Sophmore season, expect nothing but intellegence and finesse
This guy has some special speed and (should be) disrupting defenses enough to give Bradford lots of offensive options - too bad they were both hurt last year. We need to keep our Rams in STL. I think we have a good young improving team, even though they play in the badass NFC West. STL fans, we always pack Busch Stadium 91+ home games for the Cardinals - lets do the same in only 8 games for our talented (yet young and underachieving) football team. One last playoff run will make me happy before Mr. Walmart builds the new stadium in LA.
how does this even relate to refllexes when he is expecting the ball? make a drill where sometimes the coach doesnt throw the ball or something and then see if he can still catch the balls
+Joey D When he throws the ball, he has to register the trajectory of the flight of the ball and adjust his hands to it. A cheetah may be chasing it's prey already but has to adjust for any quick changes in its path similarly.
"He's overrated" name one receiver who can perform without having the ball. Oh right, that's the point of the game - having the ball. I wish Ravon was drafted to a good team and not the fucking Rams. Or at least I wish the Rams had a not-shit quarterback that would actually stay healthy. Oh well, he's still young, he'll get his chance
The Rams have beaten the Seahawks, the Niners and the Broncos this year with 2nd and 3rd string quarterbacks. Those were the top three teams in power rankings. Give them 'a little' credit. It's their OC that's killing them. Way too vanilla.
Sempi10 Good point. But everyone has good games. Kirk Cousins for instance. Tavon is like Cordarelle Patterson at this point. Really talented but very young and not good enough to support themselves with a non-defined QB. Josh Gordon is the same, only he has that quality where he's just so damn good that he doesn't need a defined QB, just throw the ball near him and it's good to go. It'll be interesting to see. I might be wrong on Tavon, but I'm hoping I'm not.
Ohh my god you really chatting , you obviously dont play football all receivers have to play without the ball they block for screens and running plays, etc you really need to know what your talking about
Wasn’t Uasain Bolt’s top speed 27 mph when he broke the 100m record? That’s insane because Austin is ridiculously fast but Bolt’s top speed is 9mph faster than Austin’s!
Hey all u guys that don't think that they have wat it takes I like to see u guys try it so when u guys go to the NFL then come talk on the comment section so stop talking trash if u r ✌️
but one thing they dont factor in is they are always expecting the ball to be at a certain point they showed a good throw, show a bad throw to factor in his reaction to change still a beast though, js
No, the reflex to place your hand where the ball is coming. No ball is thrown perfect, every throw is different. His reflexes help him adjust to the ball.
XxpenumbrawolfxX But intuitively he expects the ball to be in a certain catch radius which makes the reaction timing easier. Unless you're playing with Tim Tebow or something, the ball will most certainly be in a certain area on each throw and then you have to tweak ya reflexes to make the catch within that area. When a Cheetah is chasing down a prey, it has no clue which direction the prey will go in, its straight up, raw reaction timing.
Khaalid Rahman Why tim tebow he could not throw at all if you seen him with the broncos he always overthrows his target or it is like 5 yards to the left of his target or on his right that is why no NFL teams want his ass as QB xD
4.25 that was handtimed so unofficial but his real time was 4.34 only person who is faster than him during that draft was marquise goodwin who ran a 4.25 unofficial but a 4.27 official
It's funny when they try to make the stuff they do sound out of this world!lol lets just use common sense. Tavon is not catching a 100mph fast ball from half the distance of the mound
honestly, thats kinda bs. I think its a little ridiculous when they say stuff like "Chris Johnson is faster than a cheetah!" I know they're (kinda?) joking, but its simply not true lol
Danny Hentosz you're a dumbass. He does outrun everyone. His acceleration, deceleration, cut ability, and overall speed is unmatched. Watch his senior highlights. If he was on a decent team or a team that actually gave him the ball he would have much better production. He plays 30% of the snaps and maybe gets the ball 10% of that 30%. He is used as a decoy. He needs to be on the field much more and needs to be given the ball much more. I'd be happy if the Rams traded him so he would have a better chance to show his true potential
Danny Hentosz Uh for the reasons I explained earlier. They don't give him the ball. and because he is on the Rams?? They do not have a QB. Even with Bradford they aren't good. If he had a decent QB tossing it to him he could have more production. Second the O-line is pretty trash. Like I said again college isn't the NFL but watch his senior highlights if you need an idea of the potential of this kid. He went 8th overall for a reason.
I'm sorry, but running a 40 yard dash in 4.34 seconds is not and never will be Olympic material. Also, this "experiment" has absolutely nothing to do with what the title implies. The only thing you'd have as a competition would be sprinting ability and the cheetah would obliterate him every time.
Being a rams fan has been in my family for generations LOS ANGLES RAMS THAT IS! COME BACK HOME.
HELLL YEAAA !!! I WAS PROUD TO MEET HIM AT THE NFLPA COLLEGATE BOWL THIS YEAR!
Imagine what he will do in another year or two in the NFL....God I wish we had him another year at WVU.
Wow. His 40 time was off. He ran a 4.25
4.25 secs 18mph
No he didn't. he ran what they said
ya 18 mph :/
No im talking about his 40 time. He ran an official 4.34.
jcerby03 watch the actual combine video he actually ran a 4.25. I watched the whole combine that year.
the dude is underused big time by the rams...
Agree ! He needs to be put to use.
He is put to use by fake hand offs and slot reads for the big play down field but still he should get more touches because he will wear down all defenders during the game.
Nono G ikr, he used to be my idol
I like him
Nono G yup
I want to see Tavon do big things in 2014. He got warmed up in his rookie year, now it's time to explode. P.S. Give that man the ball more often!
His team sucks, they can't figure out how to get him the ball in space.
Yeah, I don't think Bradford really has what it takes. He was great in college but I haven't seen that transfer to the NFL. And it's been like what? 5 years?
The Rams dont even use Tavon Austin!! Please go to another team
so far hes garbage in the nfl.... theres allot of players that are better than him so why would he play allot
Danny Hentosz i smell a hater
facts bro Bob Johnson
Hey just wait I'm waiting until Tavon breaks out and the Rams will know how to use him
Yeah I think Texans would be perfect with Dr Andre hopkins
3:05 very briefly you will see it ay 18.99 mph but then he says topped out at 18.85 mph...
im positive hes faster than 18 mph
You are correct, but still it takes more than 18 mph to run a 4.25 40, these guys screwed up somewhere, that number can't be right.
He didn't run a 4.25... but the 18 mph is an average. They aren't taking, instant velocity and acceleration at any one point, yet just the average it takes to run 40 yards in 4.35 seconds.
*****
Jake Sanfilipo 1
18 mph is still average im sure you can do that I can he cannot top out 60 meter you top out
Keenan Allen is by far the best WR in that draft class and the San Diego Chargers stole him in the 3rd round. Teams fucked up passing on him because of his college injury.
ummmm was Patterson in that draft??? that boy is by far the best taken in the draft
MrYoyoman12345 Patterson was starting at the time of that comment. So… you are stupid.
Tavon Austin needs to go down as the nfls most outstanding fast nfl player ever in NFL history
And as a 49ers fan, Tavon Austin is the truth!! I hope he has a phenomenal season for 14 games
I am waiting for this kid to explode. His rookie season was nothing compared to how he played in DubV.
Dub V he was given the damn ball.. lets see what happens when they start given him the ball.. once again will be explosive.. I became a rams fan once I saw he was recruited by them
Yeah same here. The rams really need to utilize him asap.
If it's genetic, I'm retiring
In Tav's 1st year in an NFL offense he admitted to not quite understanding the playbook and calls, which is why later in the season we saw his progression, it wasnt a new QB thing it was just him Progressing and Growing and the way I see it in his Sophmore season, expect nothing but intellegence and finesse

If u guyz worry bout this being genetic, then make the impossible a possible. prove them wrong. And u gotta train insane or remain the same
Cali in the building, He's still the Most electrifying player in the NFL💯🍻
This dude is about to wreak havoc on other teams behind the Cowboys OL.
and this is why i like the rams.
not overrated, WV misses you bro!!!
You mean LA Rams right?
this video was made in 2014 so.......
I call Tavon Austin "The Cheetah"
he's awesome
how does this even relate to refllexes when he is expecting the ball? make a drill where sometimes the coach doesnt throw the ball or something and then see if he can still catch the balls
Joey D Dumb comment.
+Joey D When he throws the ball, he has to register the trajectory of the flight of the ball and adjust his hands to it. A cheetah may be chasing it's prey already but has to adjust for any quick changes in its path similarly.
Never going to see anything like him again
Kirk Black Ikr
just wait 🙄
"He's overrated" name one receiver who can perform without having the ball. Oh right, that's the point of the game - having the ball. I wish Ravon was drafted to a good team and not the fucking Rams. Im going to call my kid "Ravon"
Danny Aldridge Yeah I tried to correct but the edit button is not on that particular post. Really annoying lol
Ohh my god you really chatting , you obviously dont play football all receivers have to play without the ball they block for screens and running plays, etc you really need to know what your talking about
no perfect practice makes perfect
Such a good video!
Ok cam newton top speed was 19 mph at the combine & he ran a 459 40 but acording to this video tavon top speed is 18 mph & he ran a 434??? BRUH
JayJae Green What kind of top end we're you expecting from a guy 5'8" ?
Tavon's quicker so he can reach his top speed faster but cam is taller and has longer strides but can't get to his top speed as fast
I’m 5’8” as well. But; I’m 205lb. So; I still wish the Rams R still in St. Louis.
TAVON AUSTN A BEAST
I bet he's hella good a video games with those kinda reflexes too lol
dis dude is sick
tavon jogged in that 40 yard dash.
A lot of similar traits to players like donnie avery, percy harvin, and roscoe parrish. Imo that is.
he topped off in the 40 yd dash at 18.99 not 18.85
1:25 Tavon Awesome
that's what they called him in college
that's what they called him in college
BEAST
Tavon Austin is good at punts
bolt tops out at 27 mph so I know this guy is running faster than 18 i say about 23-24.
ya it is
Welcome to the cowboys
Very fast will be a powerhouse In nfl
Wasn’t Uasain Bolt’s top speed 27 mph when he broke the 100m record? That’s insane because Austin is ridiculously fast but Bolt’s top speed is 9mph faster than Austin’s!
Let Austin play Osu and put it to expert... Lets see how fast he really is.
What's the inturmenstal song?
Tavon Austin is fast

goldendragon222 thats why I used him as an example.
Khaalid Rahman oh ok lol maybe i should have reread it carefully my fault on that.
Anyone here in 2020 knowing both the rams and cowboys have ruined his career
2022
Click Bait! Where Is The Race Between Him & The Cheetah? 😒
I thought his 40 yard dash was 4.25 not 4.34
4.25 that was handtimed so unofficial but his real time was 4.34 only person who is faster than him during that draft was marquise goodwin who ran a 4.25 unofficial but a 4.27 official
The 4.25 was hand-timed
Whoathereitsben Thank you
he ran a 4.25 tf is they talking about
that wasn't the laser time, the laser time is official
goodness
I think he ran closer to 20 mph maybe a tad faster.....
hella gains
good
god damn
Think deion said that first
Hh ran a 4.25 not a 4.34
+Ryan Lee his 4.25 was unofficial they were hand watches smh..
+QuickFap69 he had an official 4.27 at the draft
no it was 4.25 along with Marquise Goodwin both official FAT
DAT EGO!
If that cheetah is all genetic I quit...
TA does run faster than 18 mph
god dam
what did he say at 2:34 lol a
a humdah
a hundun as in 100
It's funny when they try to make the stuff they do sound out of this world!lol lets just use common sense. Tavon is not catching a 100mph fast ball from half the distance of the mound
Austin is the best
The cheetah is tyreek hill.
Lol at 2 min he bumped into s teammate and fell
Stop hating
Screw what he says it ain't all genetic! Don't listen to him hard work baby! That's all it is!
Looks like me
damn
MADE IN TEXAS////DUNBAR HIGH
Actually, it's a high school in Baltimore, Maryland... Not remotely close to Texas.
Yo shut up he's from my city Baltimore
18MPH STILL OLYMPIC MATERIAL HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
honestly, thats kinda bs. I think its a little ridiculous when they say stuff like "Chris Johnson is faster than a cheetah!"
I know they're (kinda?) joking, but its simply not true lol
What's not to get, all they're saying is that he has a faster reflex a than a cheetah
Jacoby Martin But he doesn't lmao
Think of it as over - exaggerating gees people.
Fast
hes 5ft 8 in..... it dont matter hes to short to be a reviver
dude no he doesnt

im a dumb ass??? its a debate dont get butt hurt... if he "out runs everyone" why isnt he doing good.... you "dumb ass"

word
Tavon would beat a cheetah
cream always rises to the top you cant coach speed he will be a pro bowler in 2-3 years he has to many upsides punt returns, kick returns
he ran a for 4.25
That was handtimed aka unofficial, laser timed in whatever the fuck he said in the vid
Andre Miller no he actually ran a 4.34 Google it
Spicy trout 17 it was 4.28...
Shane then he should of had one of the fastest 40 times ever Google it
H
bust
Hight dnt mater..... i ittlize tavon austin
Tavon is not fast
no no not at all
And that's why you're a Giants fan. Cause you're dumb
He was faster in collage
I'm sorry, but running a 40 yard dash in 4.34 seconds is not and never will be Olympic material. Also, this "experiment" has absolutely nothing to do with what the title implies. The only thing you'd have as a competition would be sprinting ability and the cheetah would obliterate him every time.
