I mean you can’t blame him. If I was a soldier fighting for the literal emperor I would be pretty mad that we are fighting some army of bandits rather than the actual enemies.
I can't see Darius as an Emperor, atleast not yet, his first character arc has ended and a second one has begun, but he'll only hail himself as Emperor when the Sons of the Empire name him that, it'd be tyrannical, and thus hypocritical, for him to take the title of Emperor himself.
This is the kind of RP I love in games. Darius isn't a paragon of humanity, though he sometimes thinks he is. He's fallible, hypocritical, and fickle, but he also happens to be a damned competent fighter and intelligent enough to manipulate the loyalty of his brothers in arms. He's an imperfect and dynamic character, living out his adventures one mistake, and one triumph, at a time. I especially love how sometimes things you didn't intend or expect actually make the story work even better, like being chased by several gangs of bandits all the way to Lucon's army. He lost his innocence in the peaceful little hamlet he called home, but he also lost a sense of purpose and direction. Swearing revenge, he ran off to find the army. Maybe they could do what he could not alone. He may have joined for his own reasons, but he convinced himself that he was a true believer in the cause after being saved by the very man he sought to find. His emperor would reunite the world under one banner and bring an end to the Mongol horde. Once his own goals were threatened, however, he began to see his leader's incompetence and quietly second-guess his every move. He still clung to the belief that his cause was just; that the dream of a united Empire beat in Darius' chest more fervently than a thousand war drums. But is that what really drove him, or was it bloodlust for those who ruined his simple life? Or could it be that he's developed a taste for glory during his time in the arena and on the battlefield? He's clearly better than Lucon, so why should he be following anyone? Why shouldn't others follow him? They should, and they must. Anyone who refuses to turn against Lucon is a traitor to the Empire. I'm not sure if you did this on purpose, but Darius' self-delusion is pretty realistic. He could make a seriously compelling character for a novel.
“Calradians! Countrymen! Dark tidings do I bear! Our Emperor, Lucon Osticos, is dead. But not at the hands of the barbarians or the traitors, defending our beloved Empire as it should rightly have been! No, it was at the hands of mutineers, who had him murdered like a common criminal! This betrayal being spearheaded by one Darius of Syratos, whom our Emperor had taken in when the eastern barbarians had left him destitute! And so he repaid this mercy with murder, as the Vaegirs did to the defenceless people of Lycaron! But this is still the Empire, and under the direction of the Senate, the law still holds true-“ -Ostican Town Crier being a Senatorial Shill, slandering our patriotic lad.
meanwhile "Today is a great day, today we have shown the decedance of the false emperor, lucon, all of you, true sons of the caladian empire that stood the test of time, men who fought and bled for its reunfication, only to be blinded by a man who's only goal is to ensure power to himself above the empire we all cherish Today is a great day, for a new dawn is upon us, and a new leader, no, A NEW EMPEROR, has risen to take the mantle of the great calridian emperor, one of us, a man who loved this very empire above all else, and his companions, Obron the red and Gorigos the Shark, they shall lead us to ETERNAL UNIFICATION ALL HAIL THE TRUE EMPEROR, ALL HAIL HIS LEGIONAIRES" - Archenio Decimus

Emperor Lucan actually took one city from them losing it and losing another city, all while he was chasing looters instead of the horse fuckers who took the city. So yeah Darius is pretty is pissed lmao
@@theberserker6000 let me ask you a question Lets say, you are at your country, whatever it may be, and then you are at war with a re emerging mongol empire Your army is losing land, every single day and the leadership must band together to make sure the nation survives and wins the war AND THEN YOUR LEADER TAKES A PART OF THE ARMY THAT IS SUPPOSED TO FIGHT THE MONGOLS AND USES TO FIGHT CRIME IN THE STREETS crime that most likley wont be great since most if not all countries would unite under their leadership to fight off the enamy .... I’d just like to point out an amazing thing Simo does: the recap at the beginning of the video is such an awesome tool to help engage new viewers and hook them into the series. I started on episode two and I was able to immediately know what I was watching without having to go back and see the first video because Simo does such a fantastic job ensuring the viewer is fully aware of the context of every situation. I’m definitely looking forward to all the future episodes!
Started watching when kenshi bandits first came out. Have watched basically everything since. You are an awesome content creator and the fact you listen to your viewers is awesome. Keep up the amazing work I’ll be checking my subscriptions everyday for the next episode! Thanks for proving grade a content!
Somehow I've been drawn in by this role play, but I'm all for it! Can you number your episodes? It'll make it easier for those who see them later on ;)
In case you don't know, I've played with Distinguished Service. You can actually give them +100 in up to 3 skills, each person, not just Medic for one and Smithing for another. didn't see a comment showing this, so wanted to help out.
you could try finding out who the main allies were of Lucon in the Empire and try capturing or killing them, as a sort of way to root out his corrupted inner circle. that way you can build up the empire anew
Keep the best gear for yourself and any new companions you make, liquidate the rest to keep the war chest healthy and hire more troops for your army or buy and sell trade goods. As the up and coming Emperor should learn a thing or two about logistics and trade as well as battle.
Ah shit, here we go again 1:17 I'm guessing they want more Rimworld videos, but really it could be anything. Not a single one of those looters had a lute, so technically they're just sparkling thieves. 5:40 now I'm not 100% certain that was the emperor, but he did disappear from the list after that throw... The emperor is clearly farming XP fighting looters so that he can try to make up for his weak bloodline and pitiful skills. You know what that valuable loot means? The emperor was keeping the riches for himself, while his soldiers starved! I say pimp out Darius and his brothers, it's important to keep the riches under control. Surely the rest of the soldiers won't starve. I can't wait for the young and impressionable Gorgios the Shark to realise how weak and cowardly his leader is, not taking the fight to their true enemy but farming XP fighting weaklings, and start his own rebellion.
Lucon did help eliminate the rise in banditry associated with a nation going to war. Less soldiers at home means more people left unprotected for criminals to take advantage of. But he refused to aid any of his armies in need of help against the actual war enemies of the Northern Empire. What point is there in combatting banditry in the heartland when the borders are going to have a bandit problem as well, and the enemy will have a nice time slaughtering them once they gain a foothold, thus gaining the hearts and minds of the conquered. What is the point of the emperor amassing a war party if he refuses to wage war? Sit in your castle and govern or go out there and fight.
Darius could go the rouge way, be a man of the people. Steal money and give back to the empires people, and slowly be welcomed back. Or he could fine the true emperor and make him rise to the throne with Darius as his spear that will cleave his lieges enemies. I know those two paths would be hard to get rolling but the narrative!
Emperor Lukon Betrayed his own men he had a chance to redeem himself and join the army to fight at the frontlines instead he enjoyed wine and luxeriouse foods when trampeling basic looter peasants and bragging about his greatness. His men grew tired of basic rebelion crushing and looter eradications. The only 1 guy to look up to was Darius the true Warrior amidst them all even with no Royal Blood his skills and leadership grew beyond the control of the emperor who has failed him. This spark grew in the hearts of the amry to leave the so called emperor Lukon even Darius saw that his loyalness to this man was misplaced. Lukon thought it where only nightmares of un spoken truths that a man would rise up between the ranks of his army and take his seat as leader. He said tratiors to him would die so shall the coin be served back to him thought Darius once he tried to talk with Lukon. A faithfull miss judge threat to the munity cost him. It could have been peacefull but he left them no choice so shall he pay for his eagerness and greed to control them. One that grows tall and high forgets his roots until he falls down. Darius grinded the Axe infront of the emperor and said this is no treath this is justice for the ones you abandoned. (CHOP) the birds outside stopped singing when it rolled and rolled accros the floor. Darius was Free and his men to who believed in him (i enjoy this series make more =)

By my calculation if he continues to upload this series Russia won’t invade Ukraine … no pressure
