Never understood why people do these stupid test gaming on battery. Ot makes you look amateur like eho buys one of these to Play on battery seriously? Anybody whos know anything about these knows how stupid that sounds lmfao there absolutely no resson in 2024 anybody who reviews should do s test on battery for one of these we already know its always gonna be an hour an its just not something anybody does an make it hard to trust your review
So by this comment you mean it's very stupid to play games on any laptop. Only desktop for gaming 🖥️🤔 Well my Acer Predator Helios Neo 16,72, beat 75% of any Desktop gaming 💻.
Its not stupid, a lot of people who buy laptops are on the move a lot, so they try to squeeze in some gaming sessions on the move, between meetings, flights etc. Some laptops can go 3-4 hours on battery while gaming depending on TDP and specs. Please delete your comment.
Problem ist doing disclosures at the beginning have the effect of more people leaving the video early on. Measured it in older videos.🙄 (Short attention span is a thing, and it would have disturbed my introduction with the silent mode...) But I'm thinking about a button that I can use instead while I keep on talking 🤷
One small thing no one has mentioned in their reviews of this: Since it only has 1x M2 slot, The MicroSD can be crucial for even doubling your storage capacity. Not for gaming but you can store movies and music etc on the MicroSD. So my unanswered question is, How far does the MicroSD card stick out of the laptop when inserted? Is it safe to travel with it installed? Im gonna buy one but I've been wondering about that. People complained it wasn't a full size card slot, but if its intended for my use case, it would be perfect that.
Shit. You're absolutely right. I should consider that for future reviews. 🙈 Unfortunately I don't have the test unit anymore and don't recall how far the micro SD card sticks out (if at all). But you should contact the Asus support about that!
get another laptop. By buying laptops like these people support soldered RAM. Most other gaming laptops support if so if you buy one of those you'll be able to upgrade it for much cheaper.
@@TabalugaDragon the 4050 g14 costs as much as a regular 4070 laptop & the 4060 is the same as 4080. Dam expensive, its only cheap in the US. 850$ when on sale. I would rather get a 4070 & oled monitor/tv
@TabalugaDragon Intel is switching back to modular RAM for the next generation. Although soldered RAM is more efficient, faster, takes up less space, and has lower latency, it is a premium component. Modular RAM, on the other hand, is cost-effective and allows for higher profit margins. As a result, they will opt for inferior RAM next year, though most people likely won't notice the difference.
howd you get a black version? I was planning on getting the g14 zephyrus 4070 with 32 gb ram which is around 2000 on bestbuy. But its only white, is there a way to get a black version of that?
Shame about the soldered RAM and lack of ethernet port. What a shame! The price (1800 euros and up with 1TB of SSD here in Greece) is very high too, but by the other two just kill it. Thanks for the video.
RAM is a bummer but the lack of port which can be added with a cheap USB adapter is hardly a deal breaker for any serious buyers. Its 1200 USD here right now, which is less in monopoly money.
Finally someone who also tested iGPU gaming on battery. I was curious how much battery life you'd get. I really expected over 3 hours while gaming, a shame.
@@dampflokfreund well that's up to you. X86 universal tuning utility lets you choose that. And the xou is very efficient even at 15W. At some point both cou and GPU become more or less unusable though
You are saying that it's quiet because you play in silent mode but the performance isn't going to be strong enough to run some games. Once it runs at turbo mode, I heard that it's louder that most laptops.
70-75% is enough to run basically all games. Depending on the settings of course. On performance it's still quieter than most gaming laptops. And turbo is not necessary as it's only like 5% faster than on performance. On silent it's basically sub 40DB which is REALLY quiet and only very few laptops can reach that while still being able to play games.
@@JoonKimDMD thermals are fine as mentioned:) won't get hotbon silent due to the low tdp. But you could configure the fan curve and tdps yourself aswell
Lift the laptop up at the back, remove armory crate and my asus after u claim warranty and install ghelper ( when uninstalling amory crate pls use the tool available which you can find in the net )...after that remove all the bloater and your laptop is perfect for the next 5 to 10 years provided you maintain cleaning the display and fan internally once in a while ( also dont play on bed , close carefully the display and regular play in air conditioner room cause the material is aluminum and it can get cold extremly fast = hence higher performance )....i have the 2024 model g14 32gb with 4050...its perfect
The Laptop uses the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS. That's a CPU that comes with the famous integrated Graphics card called "Radeon 780m". If you disable the dedicated Geforce RTX 4050, the Laptop can still use the 780m within the CPU. This is noticably slower, but enough for lighter gaming. It's the same GPU as in most recent gaming handhelds like the ASUS ROG ALLY or the LENOVO LEGION GO. So it actually comes with 2 graphic cards/GPUs to be precise

i havent seen most laptops with igpu go over 2 hours with heavy performance tasks
Depends on the TDP you set the CPU to. There are some that can go up to four hours of gaming with low TDPs.
@@Hubwood What's the lowest TDP you can set CPU and iGPU to?

it really depends on a game. also if there is a way to change power limit of the CPU the battery life would vastly vary based on that setting.
Great video
