I am the son of an immigrant, but seeing how unplanned immigration has ruined Canada makes me cry. My work is related to immigration, and I can tell you that every day, thousands of people seek asylum at ports of entry, with no signs of it slowing down. Meanwhile, good, hardworking, and well-meaning people are leaving Canada.

I was at a lineup yesterday at a play park with my kid waiting to reach the admission and my kid pointing out something so i looked at it for a bout 10-15 second. At that point the line moved up 1 person. The young indian family who was behind me the whole time instead of warning me to move up theu just budded me and literally stood a hair away from the person i was lining up behind, i guess to prove to me that i lost my spot. I was so shocked when i turned around and they looked at me as if nothing was wrong. I got angry and told them that i was before them. And they backed off, but this 3rd world behavior is very common in canada now

Moved to Canada 23 years ago as an immigrant. Always was grateful and loved this country. Not any more. The country changed drastically to the worst. Crime, cost of living, taxes are getting worst and worst. My husband lost his job 6 months ago and still can’t find a new one. He is an engineer with tons of Canadian experience and knowledge. Never voted for liberals. Unfortunately, Canadians chose this future for themselves by voting for Trudeau.I told my kids to look for better life outside of Canada.

Land transfer tax when you buy, income tax on the rent, property tax every year, capital gains when you sell. Income tax on employment income, sales tax, carbon tax , paying well over 100k a year in tax. Scandals, like the renewable energy slush fund that nobody talks about. 400m$ of taxpayers money. I go to emergency and have to wait 14 hours for a couple stitches because it is over run with all these people taking advantage of free health care. Baby bonus of 700 a month. If I had 5 or 6 kids I would definitely come to Canada, we provide everything. Easy life. Housing education Healthcare, on and on. I am a temporary immigrant from Poland, but the only reason why I'm here is
    a) fact that I have quite a good job here
    b) I like people here and your nature,(including the winters - yes, I like cold and snow 😉).
Unfortunately, from the economical point of view it's easier to live in Poland, where, despite a lower incomes, costs of live in relation to salary are better. I'm talking about it, because it's amazing, taking into account where both countries were 30 or even 20 years ago. At that time Canada was for an average Pole like a promised land and now I don't even considering to stay here more than a few years. It's so sad, because this huge and beautiful country, with great people have so big potential to be this promised land, but instead is going in an opposite direction 😔

Sadly, I have to agree with this one. Canadians are politically apathetic, and are more concerned with planning their next fishing trip than they are the state of the country they're living in. They've been conditioned to accept the massive tax hikes, the unaffordable housing, the investment flight, and the corruption. It starts and stops with the voters.

It’s legal to be a sex worker in Canada?? Wow!!! that’s a shock because I remember years ago and especially going back to World War II. Canadians were more conservative than American and they were always at church. Americans were at church once a week and Canadians were there three times a week and that’s just an example. I think since the 70s Canada, the USA because of the Democrat party, you have no damn morals at all, and forcing the LGBTQ hormones on kids and trying to sneak around behind their parents for that stuff.
Trump is banning the DEI garbage when he gets into the White House and if people want to have LGBTQ care and hormones or surgery, they can do it when they’re 18 but there will be no any of that minors. I’m sure it’ll go before the Supreme Court but the Supreme Court we have will say that as long as the child is a minor it’s up to the parents to decide.

As Canadians, many of us feel that our quality of life has been slipping. We’re seeing changes in our communities that make us uncomfortable - from safety concerns to cultural shifts that don’t seem to integrate well with our values. The rapid and unchecked influx of newcomers who aren't engaging with Canadian culture has led to neighborhoods feeling less safe and streets becoming dirtier. When did we, as Canadians, start needing security cameras and extra safety doors just to feel secure in our own homes? In some areas, even personal freedom, like how women dress, is being restricted due to radical mindsets that don't align with Canadian principles of freedom and tolerance.
It’s frustrating to see our country change in ways that don't seem to prioritize Canadian values and safety. We need leadership that genuinely cares about preserving what makes Canada great.

As a English Canadian we are not only financially bein forced out but we are bein forced out of most working areas especially in trades. They pay there workers much less then what we make so employers are swapping to them. And meanwhile once they get into the hiring position they will pretty much exclusively only hire people from their culture and you don't see any more English Canadians. Culturally Canadians wanna help other people where is cultures like Indian will always help themselves 100% of the time over anyone else and they will also hide their intentions. Kinda like what the Chinese did with the real-estate market. Once these cultures get into government they just start doing business illegally with their own race to make themselves rich at w.e the cost.. usually a cost of selling some part of Canadian life... something they owe no loyalty

I want to share my journey as an immigrant from Europe to Canada, where I initially pursued my dream of becoming a doctor. Armed with a medical degree, I faced a challenging reality: navigating the extensive red tape in the Canadian medical system to have my credentials recognized was daunting. Despite my passion and commitment, the restrictions imposed on internationally trained medical professionals and the skyrocketing cost of living forced me to pivot to another field within the medical sector just to make ends meet.
After spending a decade in Canada, I made the difficult decision to leave and relocate to the United States. Here, I have found a thriving medical practice where I am not only utilizing my skills but also achieving financial stability. Reflecting on my time in Canada, I truly appreciate the experiences and lessons I learned, but I believe there’s an urgent need for reform in the Canadian healthcare system. Without changes to facilitate a smoother transition for internationally trained doctors, the ongoing physician shortage could become even more critical. Canada's rich potential can only be realized by embracing the talents of all medical professionals eager to contribute.

Thanks to the tremendous problems this city has because of homelessness, overdoses, addiction, violence, theft and vandalism. Maybe it is time to pack our bags and go back where we came from...in my family's case, Northern Europe. At least there, we BELONG- where as here, we are accused of living on "stolen land". We have absolutely no trust that the country will shift direction, or CAN shift direction. We believe it's too far gone at this point. The damage wrought by the radical Left-wingers in power will take decades to fix. The bureaucracy is bloated, the courts are packed with extreme-radical activists, and the senate will shoot down any and all bills that a Conservative government under Poilievre will seek to implement. I'm usually a long-term optimist, but when it comes to Canada, I've lost all faith. It's nothing but an over-taxed, Orwellian hellscape. Art decorations and events for the many holidays and customs (both Taiwanese and western, such as Christmas and Halloween) are also funded to improve quality of life in Taiwan. Considering direct gdp number as base for comparison of any two countries is so dumb that stupidity of it should be criminalised in every developed country. Per capita gdp of India is about 2000 USD and for Canada it's a bit of over 52000 USD The sheer stupidity of the argument as representation of the quality of immigration and how it will affect the future if it stays is terrifying that can only end up as 3rd world country in snow@ss_230

I'm definitely one of them. I'm an immigrant who has been here for 24 years. I have come to love Canada as I have been here most of my life (I came when I was only 13), but lately it has changed so much in just a couple of years with not only the cost of living rising which I know is pretty much everywhere in the world right now, but crime, addiction and other problems. I'm a professional and earn a decent income with my own practice and I still have a lot of debt even though me and my husband are not big spenders and we have not gone on vacation in more than 2 years. Now we are definitely looking at leaving, we speak a second language so are looking into European countries that will provide us more of a work life balance without having to live to work and still be in debt. I am definitely sad that I have to leave behind everything I worked for and start from scratch in a new country, but the outlook here is not good.

interestingly, freeland was fired from her role on Friday when JT told her that he didn't want her to continue as the FM and to reshuffle her back into the cabinet. On Monday, she resigned from the cabinet. Then the guy who was supposed to be the next FM, quits before he even started. It was written in her resignation letter that there were strategies and policies that she did not agree with and no longer had confidence in JT's leadership. Seems like there were many things happening in the background where FM was being instructed by JT and she didn't buy-in but followed through cuz JT is her boss. Seems like Freeland got out before everything collapsed, looool.
i do not envy the person who is going to take her place... he'll just be another JT puppet and destroy his/her political career.

Great video. I was once proud to be Canadian, but no longer. I’m 48 and haven’t had my own home since my mid-30s. I’ve had to live back with my parents for the past 10 years due to the housing market and high cost of living. To move back to Toronto, or really anywhere else in Canada on my own, is to walk into a trap. As a lifelong traveller, that is torture for me. Living overseas for the long haul while working for myself online (Geoarbitrage) is what makes most sense now.

Every country has its pros and cons, this issue with canada is that it used to be that people had a spirit of improving the country whereas now people dont believe thats worth it, turning the canadian dream into "making enough money to move to a cheaper nice weather country for the rest of my life".
The worst aspect is that when people give up on the canadian dream they often become nihilistic drug abusers, alcoholics, or mentally ill.

It's why I'm moving to Asia.
My house that's paid off cost me over $8000 in property tax, my house insurance and utilities add up to around $1600 a year.
Just to live in my own house.
When you add up food transportation etc.
Its totally ridiculous how expensive Canada is.
I could live like a king for $1600 a year in Malaysia or Vietnam.
A 2 bed room apartment costs about $600 a month, and they provide free house keeping 2 x a week.
Health insurance is about $75 a month, and that gives you next day access to a specialist dr.
Not like a year or more for a specialist appointment in Canada.
    There is no comparison.

    Housing...ok!
Years ago when I worked in an architects office, we would do condos.
Half way through the design process, the boss would tell us to send pdf files of the condos to someone in China in order to pre-sell them there.
The clients there would then buy three or four units.
Only much later would anyone in Canada have an opportunity to put a downpayment for one.
And the downpayment was usually way too high that only speculators and inversors could afford.
Now, the units that the Chinese bought are sitting empty, because the owners don't need to rent them; they have enough money to not worry about such things.
In the meantime, there are homeless sleeping on the street.
Can you fault the developer for that?
    Yes, you can!
Firstly, they get subsidies to buy the properties onto which they want to build on in the hopes that they will actually build affordable housing.
They get fast tracked thought the whole planning and building process.
And yet, what does an average Canadian who already payed into that process get?
    Nothing!
Suggestion; anyone owning more than the place they are living in, should be taxed 100% of the market value of the second or thrird or fourth property they own EVERY year!
And ban anyone who is not a citizen or a full time resident of Canada from owning any properties here.
    Out!

Canada is in serious trouble. Mismanagement has allowed the population to increase too quickly while not building enough housing. When families can't afford to own and can't afford to rent (if they can find a place), what are they supposed to do? Never mind people lucky enough to have a roof over their heads but struggle to pay the exorbitant cost of groceries, gas, repairs, etc....When a situation like this develops in a resource rich country like Canada, catastrophic failures in policy have occurred. People in the third world struggle with these issues, but it's not supposed to happen in Canada. Major changes need to happen now, not later, or I fear for what will happen.

Social demands under the banner of social justice have led to wage stagnation, extreme taxation to sustain subsidies, and an expansion of regulations so burdensome that inefficiencies are crippling rather than aiding progress. What would a 3% wage increase per year accomplish when inflation outpaced your income and new costs or taxes go up, in addition to the fact that we are not building homes to satisfy demand? Since 2009, taxes on a home have surged from 12% to 30%, meaning that to finance what we call a "better system", authorities take a larger share of our hard work than corporations. The irony is striking-we often blame the wealthy for inequality, yet it's the government that by imposing escalating fees, regulations, and inefficiencies we drain resources and limit opportunities for everyone. It's nonesense!

    In that 70%
    -15% in taxes every quater
    -25% annual tax
-15% in retenu à la source(another fancy tax) also annual
It is really hard to grow a company with 20-25%

I think it NEEDS to be noted how Florida was used as an example when Florida's policies are almost the exact opposite of Canada as a whole. And that Canada's policies are more similar to California, and they're facing the same issues. But Californians solution to the problem isn't to accept that it's their fault, but to move to other areas with diffrent policies because living costs aren't stupid high, get annoyed by how they run things differently, and vote to make it more like where they're from, and ruinings locals homes in the process
