The fact they are powerful is alluring and interesting even in the most 1 dimensional characters. I call it the broly effect because that applies to him. A big strong guy feels unstoppable, no Iris, clenched fists flexing pose. (Coincidence that dark sonic exhibits some of those features) But in the case of dark sonic I've seen people talk about him who really like him have the same way. Just being a strong force and that in itself is enticing and addicting
