What a fantastic piece. Grateful that the youtube algorithm brought me here. Certain parts remind me fondly of some of the songs from a game called Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Love the work!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that. The Xenoblade Chronicles games are on my list of games to play eventually (they look so good). Thanks again!
The great thing about Skyships is that they exist in our minds or in the fantasy books that we choose to read, like Terry Brooks. Of course that gives you all of the license in the world to create music for said ships. And I think you strike a nice balance of music that fits a ship flying through the sky and I noticed a little percussion throughout which to me at least would represent a Shyship in battle! Very well done
Thanks, Robbie! Yeah, I love the concept of skyships soaring above an ocean of clouds. I love the traditional-wooden-ship-but-it-can-fly versions, but I also really like the canvas balloon ones. Just cool stuff. :)
Incredible to hear the full piece here!! I remembered the opening third quite well, and it sounds great hearing it again with the lyrical violins atop the more intense lower strings. I loved that middle section with the initial melody slowed down in the cellos, before we came back to the opening, but with some added orchestration like in the flutes and things to add some extra excitement. And you ended the piece (which I know we discussed before!) with that added E! The perfect harmony to end it. Lovely work!!
