- Setting yourself up for a good position in the feature means staying on it all night long at a dirt track.
You always want to win, but when the day has been emotionally exhausting and your heart hurts, a win means even more.
We will always remember the win at Sycamore Speedway and Lucas Oil MLRA as the day we heard about the loss of Rich Eshelman, long-time friend, loved by all of us, (Baby and Munch, too) and World of Outlaws announcer.
Huge thanks to MLRA and Sycamore Speedway for honoring Rick with the missing man formation on the parade lap.
Starting third in the Feature event at Sycamore Speedway 1/4 mile dirt track, Jason captured the ““Swift Springs Move of the Race” by grabbing the lead from front row starters Chad Simpson and Dennis Erb Jr. coming out of two, to win the Harvest Hustle, their first Lucas Oil MLRA event.
“You’ve got to dedicate this to Rick Eshelman, our sport lost a great guy today,” said Feger on the sudden passing of World of Outlaws Late Model Series Announcer. “There’s no one like him, he always made you smile and talked to everybody and was just a great guy. I’m glad we were able to pick up the win, and we will honor him tonight and think about him and get back to work.”

Rick Eshelman is a HUGE loss man oh man. He was way better than anyone nascar etc. is pushing on us the man made every race sound like a 5 horse race, all side by side, while he had a $1000 bet goin’. Damn
Never will there be another voice like Rick's. His ability to be kind to everyone in the pits and to all the dogs was second to none.
