Thank you for your generosity. Your videos are focused, structured and inspiring, and vocally safe. I am asking all my students and choir members to study your lessons.
@svenktarr, Thanks so much for you note! I hope that you are staying well during these times. I hope to be back with my students in person soon, as I am sure you do too!
This video really helped me prepare for the sight reading portion of my audition tomorrow. I've never really been the strongest at it, so it really helped me improve. Thank you Roger :)
Hi Roger - thanks for taking the time to do these videos. I am a music teacher (drummer!) working to improve my ears using Solfege. I am finding you're material very helpful. I downloaded the sight singing book and will get to it!..
Good morning maestro. I have a doubt about exercise 28 in the 3rd measure. F only equals one beat and E equals 2. Why does the exercise run as a two beat F?
Hello Dr. Hale, these exercises are very helpful. Could you please make a video on sight-singing minor keys? I'm having trouble switching between Te and Ti.
Just found your videos on UA-cam, they are so great, helpful and fun at the same time. I only find this concept of so called "Moveable DO" very confusing to me.
Hello Dr. Roger , thank you so much for these wonderful singing techniques, I’m not a talented singer, but it really helps to improve my voice. Do you have a video for practicing how to lower the larynx while singing ?
Salve spero che possiate tradurre la mia richiesta! È possibile acquistare qualche vostra lezione...ho un coro che devo gestire e ai quali insegnare. Thank you!
Ho un sito web solfasinger.com e i miei video finora. Occasionalmente inserisco i file PDF nelle mie descrizioni per il download gratuito. Spero che la mia traduzione sia ok?
Hi Roger, Clicking on the link takes me back to this very youtube page. Can you please check and share the PDF link (or the name of the resource). Thanks.
Hello Dr Roger I find your singing tutorials amazing. Thank you for sharing. However if I may say I find it a bit confusing that you sing do for a G when you sight sing. Shouldn't you call it Sol?
Hi @STEFY GOMBOS, The system that I use is called "movable DO" meaning that when you change keys in the key signature. The new key becomes "DO" Eb, "DO" is Eb; The key of G#, "DO" is G#. Does this make sense?
@@RogerHale yes it does. I suppose I am used to the Italian method where there is no C,D,E, etc. But just Do. Re. Mi, fa, sol. La . Si, but many thanks for your answer anyway

Do you have a video for practicing how to lower the larynx while singing ?
LenlenKit thank you! The best way to lower the larynx is to yawn and relax the jaw.

About 2018
Very help thanks for PDF book. By the way exercise 28 I think you miss the rhythm on the 3rd bar!
You’re exactly right. I did miss that. Sorry!
How can I figure out the key without key signature just by looking note
Most times you can look at the last note of the piece in the soprano or bass line. That will be the key.
Bom matéria de estudo...
@André monteiro, Muito obrigado por assistir assistindo meu canal!
good
Can you make videos with metronome?
Good idea, I will try to do that.
I don’t understand since excercise 31; what are you Singing and the pentagram
@Ma Muro. Please see if this video explains the system that I use. It is called "Moveable DO"
The 1st note in the scale is always Do.

try this secure site solfasinger.com @JeanneMarie68
Sorry, but song 28 you sang that incorrectly (third bar)
You are correct, sorry
Not to be nitpicky but your rhythm/tempo on #36 and #37 was inconsistent which definitely threw me off
Thanks Michael, I will check it out. ~Roger
Just read his hand signs and lips!!
Great work!
