Y’all above me really saying it’s okay to dismiss your in-pain child because it might be “for attention”… Well, would you rather give an attention seeker attention by mistake or would you rather your child die and you go to prison for child neglect? Sure is hard choice, these two options… EDIT: I see Volkova a ways below me would also rather let their child possibly die. Funny thing is, most people would go broke to save their child’s life, bro thought they did something with that comment. And if your child has to fake dying everyday to get your attention, maybe they’d be happier living at the hospital anyway.
@@dragon22214 and it's a bad thing to want attention? Imagine how lacking is in their life that they have to fake an illness to receive some attention.

--- MY MEDICAL STORY --- So, when i was like 9 or 10, I was walking in the kitchen when all of a sudden I had a horrible pain in the left side of my stomach (i think some of you see where this is going). I was driven to the hospital and taken in. I couldn't eat anything as my body would just reject it. After a couple of days of pain, they determined that I had appendicitis after doing the x-ray. I went into surgery. BUT WAIT the story doesn't end here. After surgery, I said that I was still in pain and they said that was normal - until the pain didn't go away within a day or two. They did some tests and learnt 2 things. 1. I never had appendicitis 2. In the surgery, the surgeon messed up and put the knife through my bladder. Basically, if I didn't get treatment in like a week, I could die. Fun. I was transferred to a different hospital and got surgery there that stitchef my bladder back up. Though, it still wasn't great. Some of the tests basically were, lets pump liquid into his bladder until it leaks. yay fun, and painful! Overall, I was in hospital for 8 days I think but I needed another 2 or so months to fully recover. Luckily, I live in the UK so all of this was free. Fun fact - apparently the hospital stopped doing that type of surgery on children after but idk if that's true
Situs inversus is a rare genetic condition in which the organs in your chest and abdomen are reversed so yeah.... you will be fine(if you have the genes or not) its usually harmless
This happened to me, basically, except I was at a relative's house and they thought I was exaggerating/probably fine and my mom, a nurse, was on the other side of the country. I kept calling her telling her it was getting worse and worse. Once I finally ended up in the hospital, they couldn't figure out what was wrong, kept asking 10-year-old me if I was pregnant or could have an STD, aaaand I'm like, "no sir, I'm f-ing 10." Turned out my appendix had exploded several days prior and I was about to damn die lol. Two surgeries and a bunch of torment later (drinking that chalky CAT scan crap when your organs are all f-ed up and you're puking... basically impossible) - I'm all good now lol.
This happened to me too basically. But I was stuborn and didnt want to go to the doctor and my parents forced me to go. I had huge spider bite that made my whole arm red and swollen that the doctor had to take the puss out left huge hole in my arm. Idk if i was life-threatening tho but doctor said it would just keep getting worse if she didnt get the puss out. I had to do weekly checkup for a month and took a bunch of pills.
If it exploded you would’ve been dead. If it’s even swollen you’d be in excruciating pain. They take it out generally because of that. I think there’s some exaggeration there.
@@mikolee8522 I don't mean explode, like, the way a bomb explodes lol. Little bit of hyperbolic language - the actual term is rupture, it ruptured, so, it busted open and bacteria/pus/whatever was leaking into the rest of my body. That's sort of why I said I was about to die. Once it ruptures, you're in trouble if they don't do something quick. And I was in unbearable pain for days before they figured out what was happening. When I had to drink the CAT scan fluid, it showed it leaking out of the burst appendix. So, aside from my word choice of "exploded," I'm not exaggerating.
@@mikolee8522 Also, you can look this up, without medical care, once your appendix gets to the point where it's ruptured, you've got about a day or so to live if it's not dealt with. They don't know when mine actually ruptured, it could have been before I got there, could have been at the actual hospital, don't know. But, I'd been going downhill REALLY fast for the couple days prior to finally being taken to the ER, it was probably a total of like 3-4 days maybe of the pain, maaaybe 5, but it could really bad the last two days and I was vomiting constantly and just, immobilized with pain, whole body felt horrendous. It was very unpleasant and quite scary. But also, being about 10 years old, I didn't really understand how bad of shape I was actually in, which is probably good, because I would have panicked. If I was suffering that much as an adult, I'd have taken myself to the hospital a LOT sooner. The surgery nicked one of my ovaries because they had to do so much scraping around to get everything (because material had leaked out of course) and they had to do it open rather than laparoscopic for the same reason, I've got like 5 different scars, was in the hospital for weeks, ended up needing a second surgery b/c I developed an abscess after the surgery site healed too quickly on the outside or whatever, and was probably close to septic because my whole body was weak and ill from the infection getting so bad before they realized they needed to go back in and it wasn't just residual pain, blah blah blah. It was nuts. So, yeah, I used a colorful word, but still, that's what happened lol.
When I was a kid I was home schooled. Well watching something for school I started to feel sick and my back hurts. The day before I went down to a river that had a ton of ticks. I all over my body and saw a black dot and I already knew what it was. I started crying in fear that I had Lyme but my mom told me I didn't and calmed me down. After 5 days red circles started forming on my legs, a week later my arms. By the second week the circles were around my eyes and I only got sicker, weaker and hungry. I was always hungry and there was nothing to stop it. My mom was going to take me to the doctors by the 4th week but my dad made her think it was ring worm. The next day the stuff we used for ring worm did nothing so she took me to the doctors. After another week we got the results. The doctors said I had Lyme but it could be cured with meds. They said if we waited longer than 4 weeks I would have effects from the Lyme for the rest of my life. I took the meds for I think 2 months and the meds tasted so bad but the meds worked. I no longer had head aches and I was no longer hungry.
As a asian person, my dad would've pull out the belt to hit someone if they're making me faking my illness, my best moment is when he truly cares for me loves the most than my mom who continues ignoring my plead and neglected me further more, causing me to have mental health issues 💀 that kind of joke is making me offended, sorry. I can't relate.
THANK YOU for finally making a version of this “trend” where people share their seemingly fine at first injuries that could have been fatal but WITHOUT saying stay tuned for part 2 to find out what happened next!
Golly! My friend had his spleen rupture during class at the Uni. We were in class together and he looked okay at the start, but that day we were working in pairs for a presentation. Within the first 20 minutes of class (this is a 2+ hour seminar) He mentioned a pain on his side that initially was like a stomach ache and quickly evolved to something he couldn’t even sit down for. I had a bad feeling from the way he was shifting his body in his seat, and his expression. I told him at first, that he should use the restroom, then told him to head to the school’s medical facility. He just wasn’t feeling well. Finally I shut his laptop and told him to pack up, that we were going to Kaiser. (His provider) which was less then 10 minutes away. He kept insisting that he’d be fine. I packed up my own stuff and I dragged his butt out of class. On the way to my car, (I wasn’t gonna let him drive), I intercepted another friend from our study group. He didn’t have a class at the time. I caught him up to speed, and he offered to take our friend to the provider , so I can return to class and take notes or whatever for both of us. I let him take our friend, and in the group chat several hours later we learned that his spleen ruptured. He was home for the rest of the semester. :( he emailed his professors, and got the extended 1 year opportunity to finish those classes. As a study group, we took our notes, and forwarded him everything digitally and in person. We kept him up to speed and checked up on him. (He’s doing fine now! He recovered and graduated with us!)
Shout out to medical professionals who take you seriously. I had strange knee pain for a year that my family said were “growing pains.” I went with my great-grandmother to the chiropractor one day. God bless that doctor who saw me walk across his waiting room and asked my family to let him examine me completely for free. It was not growing pains. I had scoliosis. From 9 years old I spent 9 years in treatment and FULLY Recovered without surgery because of early detection. Thank you doctor. I now walk without a limp or any signs of misalignment and it’s thanks to you and my treatment team.
Wow that’s so great! Glad ur alr. Simulator thing happening to me rn. I have toy bad knee pains since I was 9. It started after I had done a 3k fun run for school and my mum also said it was probs growing pains and ignored it for months. There were some points at school I collapsed cause of the pain so my mum knew it must b smth worse. I went to physio therapy for around a year and a half and idk what it was called but basically rather than having an arched foot, mine is flat so I got theses insoles to support my feet. Apparently if it was left longer then it could’ve turned into back pains too and had a completely different result

My daughter had her appendix rupture at 7 months pregnant cause the Drs couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. She wouldn't believe me when a week prior I told her it was her appendix. The way I knew was an old fashion way my Dad had taught when I had a bad stomach ache as teenager. He had me lay down on back with a pillow under my butt. He asked did it stop hurting . I said yes. Good he said it just gas or an upset stomach. As he helped me up I instant threw up. Later asked him what if it hadn't stopped he told me if the pain had gotten worse or run down my right leg it could have been my appendix and would have taken me to the hospital.THANK YOU DAD FOR ALL YOU DID FOR ME . MAY YOU REST IN PEACE!!
Remembering a time when I felt sick and so my mom just said: you’re probably just sick. The next day I couldn’t breathe it was Sunday and my mom was like you might need to be elevated a bit. I ended up going to the doctors holding a machine to help me breathe. The thing is if your child says they can’t breathe and feel bad, take them to the doctor, they could pass out or die.
My foster mother was in her 50’s when I got into my teen years and she was the same way. She didn’t believe in doctors or vaccines ect. One day I noticed a sharp pain growing that didn’t go away and got worse. The pain spread from one side to my entire abdomen. I had no idea what was going on and I felt like I was dying and she completely ignored me and dismissed my screams of pain saying I was just being dramatic... I called 911 myself and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance with a severe case of appendicitis. If I hadn’t made that call, my appendix would have ruptured and become fatal. I was taken from her custody shortly after. I am now a mother and will never forget what I went through and will never ignore my child when he expresses discomfort or pain.

I remember when I was 6, I keep telling to my mom that my right leg hurt, and people at school often mocked me and laughed at me bcz of the way I was walking + my leg wasn't normal at all, it was longer than the other one. My mom's thought that I was just faking it for her to carry me (bcz back then, I always loved it when she was carrying me on her back). The day she believed me was the day I was getting an emergency surgery because I burned myself accidentally (it was bad) with hot oil, and I remember I told the doctor to check my right leg. Turns out I've got a disease since I was born (the name is too complicated), and if I wasn't operated earlier I would lose my leg, being disabled or in the worst case die. I'm 20 now, and I'm doing fine ☺️ sometimes my leg hurts a little bit, but nothing to be worried about 😄
Something similar happened to my mum back in March-April but she was told it's stomach ulsers she's had and that's bc if the pain she dealt with it for months almost 2years actually and slowly she was only able to eat a little food without feeling really ill, turns out her bowls had twisted and flipped, I hope your doing ok now I remember what it was like with my mum it wouldn't of been easy for 10year old you
Remember: pain is one of your body's only ways of communicating with you. So LISTEN when your body is trying to tell you something. And parents listen when your children say they are in pain!
I hate when people underestimate how serious something can be seriously I’ve heard story of women who have went to the doctor with serious pain and just being told it’s probably from their period or something like that
I was 10 at school once when I felt bad, I went to the medical room and they sent me home, by the time I got home, I sat down and realised I couldn't move, my mum called 911, they picked me up in an ambulance, I got to ER and they confirmed I had a twisted ovary, it was my bff's bday the next day so I refused not to go to school the next day to celebrate with her... 😅
I'm glad my mom always takes things very serious when come to our body. One time I woke up n felt a very sharp pain at my Abdominal area. I told her that & she asked me to squat down. I didn't know why she told me to do the action, but then she asked if it's even more painful. Then I said yes. Immediately, she drove me to the ER n the Dr who attended to me immediately confirmed that I had an appendix n proceeded me to a surgery once he got my mom's approval. Yeap, I'm glad my mom take things seriously. Children might lie at some things, but she always make sure we r really alright. It's no harm checking on ur child when sth is wrong with them even when they lie. Rather than being too late check on them pls.

Me too. Luckily I’ve never had anything like this happen to me. I did once have really bad jaw pain from a dental issue. I kept apologizing for waking her up but she said if I’m in pain I can get her up.
another story, my mum left the home for awhile well i was ten my lower body started to hurt so i went to the toliet and then i found out i had my first period
I remember my mom had really bad period cramps and she would have to miss school but my grandmother kept telling her painful period cramps were normal. Turns out my mother’s were so bad she actually needed morphine every month…
Fun story! When I was 6, I went on vacation with my parents, I was playing and having fun until my stomach started hurting, at first just slightly but it kept getting worse and my mom would just disregard it. Eventually she made up a game; whenever I told her it hurt, she’d look out the window and say: “oh look! There’re cats!” And in her mind, if I turned around to look, I was still alright… well, when I stopped turning around she finally got the memo that I was definitely not okay, so they decided to go to the coast guard and told me to get in the car, but by then the pain was to the point where I couldn’t stand up at all and my father had to pick me up. We went to the coast guard and they “checked” if it could be appendicitis but said it probably wasn’t, still, they told us to go the the hospital. We drove to the hospital and the moment we got there they said I didn’t just have appendicitis, but I was extremely at risk for peritonitis, so I had to be operated. Well, we were in Sardinia, Italy (I think), and we live in Milan, so my fathers first reaction was to tell the doctors “alright, no problem, I’ll book the first flight to Milan and she’ll have the operation there”, cause he didn’t trust a hospital he didn’t know… needless to say the doctors just looked at him and told him I was definitely not reaching Milan alive. Eventually I underwent surgery and they told me I kept telling the doctors what to do, because I’ve always been an irritating child… then when I woke up I only remember vomiting yellow and a kind nurse giving me Coca-Cola, so everything went fine. But I’m glad I gave my parents that scare cause they never take me seriously when I say I’m sick! Another thing they tell as a story, is the fact that when I was born, just a few months old, I couldn’t talk yet, I broke my wrist. Well, I was crying for weeks, but my mom just decided to ignore it because I couldn’t talk. Eventually my grandparents brought me to the hospital where the doctors told them I had broken my wrist, but apparently I kept it still enough that it fixed itself, so it wasn’t even a problem anymore… so that must’ve been fun!😂

So I call my guardian to tell her that something is very wrong, I think I'm dying and need to go to hospital. She told me I was faking and to come home. My boyfriend scoops me up and took me to the couch. His mother saw that I was ill and said that she was going with. We stopped to talk to my aunt before the E.R. she STAYED on the phone talking about clothes with her friend. Several hours later and medication at the E.R. and it was my appendix. She never even came to see me while I was there. I really was truly close to dying. I had a blood infection that required antibiotics. I in. fact flat lined on the operating table.

This just shows that parents need to be more aware of this stuff and that we're not always *dramatic* and that sometimes these kind of things is more serious than just a stomach ache, like this could have been fatal (deadly)
Why do adults never listen to kids until it gets so bad… When I was eight, I was sick for a week only to find out I was a Type One Diabetic. The morning right before my diagnosis my mother told me I was faking it (I can’t be too mad, she stuck by my side the whole week I was in the hospital) And at my first job, around 2021, I was feeling really sick at the middle of my shift and needed to go home. --- MY MEDICAL STORY ---
So, when i was like 9 or 10, I was walking in the kitchen when all of a sudden I had a horrible pain in the left side of my stomach (i think some of you see where this is going). I was driven to the hospital and taken in. I couldn't eat anything as my body would just reject it. After a couple of days of pain, they determined that I had appendicitis after doing the x-ray. I went into surgery.
BUT WAIT
the story doesn't end here. After surgery, I said that I was still in pain and they said that was normal - until the pain didn't go away within a day or two. They did some tests and learnt 2 things.
1. I never had appendicitis
JESUS CHRIST HOW CAN A SURGEON MESS UP SO BADLY

Man really copied a comment
This happened to me, basically, except I was at a relative's house and they thought I was exaggerating/probably fine and my mom, a nurse, was on the other side of the country. I kept calling her telling her it was getting worse and worse. Once I finally ended up in the hospital, they couldn't figure out what was wrong, kept asking 10-year-old me if I was pregnant or could have an STD, aaaand I'm like, "no sir, I'm f-ing 10."
Turned out my appendix had exploded several days prior and I was about to damn die lol.
Wait you didnt feel the pain when it exploded,
If it exploded you would’ve been dead.

So I’m having the exact same problem rn and they still didn’t see anything fr - then they were liek - nah you got problems using the restroom- then it was- you mgiut have an infections- then it could have been my apendix/gallbladder- 🤧
They said i had cancer 😅
Who else thought she was talking about a period
I was also thinking about that....
Imagine your mom says "see i told you it was nothing"
alternative title: that one time your parents listening to you while having a bad injury
Me thinking it’s a period pain 🌚🌝 realising I’m wrong 🌝🌚
On one hand, the ER. On the other hand, being able to point to this example whenever anyone says you’re overreacting or wrong.
The one thing children never lie about is pain. (Unless faking sick. But it’s obvious then.)
I went through something similarly in my teens. I was with my boyfriend and his mother. After dinner I was violently ill for an hour.
That sounds horrible, I'm glad you recovered; this must have affected your relationship with your mom for sure, I hope you guys are doing ok.
One time both of my organs flip I was dying I called 911 and a ambulance and I was rushed to the hospital and my mom and dad were in New York I was 5 :NEW LECTURER FOR THEM DONT LEVAE ME AS A 5YEAR OLD HOME ALONE
I can’t imagine the “mom guilt” your mom lives with. 😢💜 So glad you’re okay!
This just shows that parents need to be more aware of this stuff and that we're not always *dramatic* and that sometimes these kind of things is more serious than just a stomach ache, like this could have been fatal (deadly)
Ouch omg I feel so bad hope you feel ok soon ❤❤
Not me thinking it was gonna be her first period 💀💀💀
I have a similar story that happened when i was 10 and my intestines twisted!
Why do adults never listen to kids until it gets so bad… When I was eight, I was sick for a week only to find out I was a Type One Diabetic. The morning right before my diagnosis my mother told me I was faking it (I can’t be too mad, she stuck by my side the whole week I was in the hospital)
And at my first job, around 2021, I was feeling really sick at the middle of my shift and needed to go home. One of my bosses tried convincing my dad I was lying and then the managers were gossiping about me. I had the ‘rona virus and was out for three-ish weeks
People can tell when something is wrong and you shouldn’t just ignore them!!
While I wait for my first mental assessment I have predictions for what they might say for me, there’s a possibility of being bipolar(either type 1 or type 2 idk) or schizoaffective or being schizophrenic or having BPD, C-PTSD or something else-,OCD, autism(which isnt trauma based ofc) or adhd along with Atypical Anorexia, I had to research myself to find self treatments 🤣🤣 because Ik I’d kms if I didnt try to help myself not being in therapy and all. (no im not self diagnosing but the conditions I listed are just ones that seem likely based on their criteria and what I experience)
I hate when our parents don’t believe us,I’m like MsGuRL

A girl got pregnant at 5.
I thought she was going to say appendicitis. Lol. In 7th grade I faked being sick just so I didn't have to be at school and the next day I had to have my appendix removed... never faked being sick to miss school again. 🤣🤣🤷🏼♀️
I had an appendicitis in 7th too lol
O my gosh. Im also faking my stomach ache and walla✨✨🤣
I faked stomach ache one too many timess🥲🥲🥲 thank god they didn't remove my appendix 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
I faked having the flu a few months ago to avoid going to a family gathering, the next day I could not move out of bed turns out I did get the flu after all.
@@sreeparvathy1163 lol that's a good thing. My parents said I had to stay in my room and throughout the day I started to actually feel sick. I'm just grateful that it didn't burst because I should have gone to the hospital sooner then we did but I was to scared to tell my parents because I knew I had lied already.

One might say the story was quite...twisted.

New fear unlocked. Who knew an organ could just randomly decide to flip itself
My mom's uterus used to do that & the doctors all said she'd either miscarry any conceived children (she did my older brother) or never be able to have them in the first place...yet here I am!
Your intestines are typically attached to your abdominal wall. My mom went to the hospital with severe abdominal pain and had to go straight into surgery because her intestines weren't attached and had been slowly tying themselves in knots her entire life. Scary stuff.
Ovaries and testicles like to do that. I've had my ovary twist and untwist before. It feels like death.
Its extremely rare though so don't worry
Happened to my sister as a baby. I didn't get told when I was taken to my grandma's house near midnight and why my sister was in the hospital for awhile.
the way i’d probably be to scared to call 911- 😭
I hate it when I hear about moms not trusting something is wrong.
My mom once accused me of faking for attention after I sprained my ankle really bad and had to be carried by my English teacher to the office. She was super pissed I needed to go home because I couldn't walk, refused to take me to the ER...
I had a tendon on the side of my foot rip 3/4ths of the way through. To this day, 20 odd years later, I have a bulge on the side of my foot where part of the tendon healed wrong.
I feel like that's something that happens at lot with children who don't cry when injured. Adults automatically assume that they can't be hurt since they aren't crying.
my mom would be the one exaggerating it xD
i swear to god i struggle with most symptoms to the highest degree very single day and shes just like "no, you're just a kid"

I hate when parents dismiss when kids feel sick and ignore medical health and they wonder why their kid ends up with so many health conditions
Probably most often seen in the U.S. because medical care has to be paid for , even with insurance.
mental health too...
@@st4rryxxx1326 that too
my mom never believe what i say, like “oh stop lying!!”
mine are the opposite i say i feel sick and they need a daily status report lol
I fell off the monkey bars in 5th grade at school. The school nurse called and told her what happened. I had never felt this much pain before. But my stepmom refused to take me to the hospital, because she said I had a “low threshold of pain.” I had two broken arms. This video really got to me.
All kids deserve parents but not all parents deserve kids

@@emilyboyer9211 There’s a distinct pain when you break a bone. I know it well now, but back then I just knew I had never felt pain like that before. I knew in my gut. No one believed me until they saw it on the x-rays.
