Some people may go to church every Sundays but still have an evil heart. I’m a Christian but I respect all religions. I still eat the food that they made and be friends with them.

Just because you go to church on Sundays don't make you a Saint. Just because you claim to be a Christian don't mean you are a good person. My parents are non Christian but I married to a Christian family, Base on my experience i do see that more Christian do disrespect the non Christian more, however this depends on the person and how their parent raise them, many people that I know uses Christ as an excuse to blind their eyes, as a Christian you are suppose to accept everyone regardless what their religion is, god doesn’t pick and choose but many Christian claims they are Christian but their heart are very evil and hypocritical

My mom goes to Church and my dad and siblings’ beliefs are shamanism. When my mom want to pray, out of respect to her, we all participate. Closed our eyes and let her do her thing. When my dad call the shaman and do our thing, out of respect to my dad, my mom never once said anything bad.

This family's situation is too messy. The nyab & son should've respected your traditional beliefs & You should've respected their beliefs. Your son is an adult now, You need to let them go! Growing up Shawman & now married into a Christian family, never once have I heard my husband talk such nonsense about my family's religion. Maybe it's because he's not Hmong but he still participate in helping my family when they're doing a ceremony. Christ teaches you to love all, be non judgmental of others & respect EVERYONE!

Yes we have to honor our parents but the first commandment is to Love your God with all your heart and your soul. Love them, but just don't participate in doing anything that will offend God. God said He is a jealous God. You either Hot or cold, do not be lukewarm; like most church goers. 99% of church goers are lukewarm. We must spread love, evangelize so people have a chance to be save. But the decision is up to them to accept or not accept. After evangelize, leave them be. Jesus didn't say you believe in me and keep it to yourself. He said, go and make deciples of all nations. He said when everyone in this world hear of the good news, then He will come. Because God loves people so much he want everyone to have a chance to hear about Him.

Doesn’t matter what you choose to believe it’s all about who you are. This family is just pure evil. Has nothing to do with their belief. I am a shamanist but I take all kinds of blessings. I have morals. I know some church people who claimed to be so faithful to their God but does some shady ass/ unethical stuff. Therefore, it is not what you believe, it is who you are!!!
My parents are old tradition, when I was younger, we lived in a small town there were some Hmong people that goes to church and some don’t. The church goers, don’t like us old tradition. We go to their gatherings and if they pray we will close our eyes and pray. But when they come to our gatherings, when it’s time to eat, they run away. They won’t eat our food but we eat their food. It’s a weird Hmong segregated community.

Listening to this story, I believe that this disagreement has turned into a level of belittlement. Everyone has the right to choose a religion in America. Whether it’s intentionally or unintentionally, both sides are using religion to hide the real reason behind this family feud. Which is not right at all, it is said in the Bible God wants you to come as you are not to come at your very best outfits and suits. And yes, this grandma might feel offended that her son praises God before he thanked her. But if there was a level of respect from both sides, there would be no feeling offended. Now days I see there is no one way to follow a religion even though it is written in the Bible, due to the level of respect, some Christian will still participate in some shaman stuff. But that is what they have to live with and it is their belief. Just because you see others participate doesn’t mean you expect others to do the same. It is their own convictions that helps them determine to participate or not. So it all boils down to respect and especially treating your parents well. No matter the religion if you mistreat your parents, there is still karma.

Our true Christian believers respect other beliefs. We must not violate the US Constitution the “freedom to religious”. I sense that this young couple might go a little too far as Christians…the wife already committed an adultery that God will punish her. Compromise is the key word for the son and mom.
