Sadly they didn’t included Beverly Sills who’s was not only one of the greatest sopranos of all times (when her voice was at her peak) but also when she retired from singing gave decades to the arts helping young artists and raising money for the Met and the NYCO and the opera in general. It’s very sad we don’t realize how much we owe Sills and how much we need to learn from her.
Me encanta que deje su legado .Es muy cercana a sus alumnas es tan fundamental .Felicitacionessiga su didáctica con ángelical ternura .Ésta es una carrera tan fantástica siempre y cuando se estudie con toda el alma .
@fourniturev She was amazing in almost anything she did. Have you heard her Mexico Traviatas? It sounds as if Flagstad had learnt to sing coloratura. I highly recommend. :)
callas might not like Carmen but she was one of the best carmen :) and that live recording of la traviata is the best la traviata recording, no matter crack or not. I doubt if lohengrinT is really callas fan.
i have a question to Italian reader: why does the language teacher stress out to pronounce "ricordo" with an open "o", in Italiano Standard it is closed. Is it an comon sence to sing every o and e in the open variation? How does this apear to an Italian native speaker? For me as a German wrong vowels are annoing.
Violetta must sound sweet. For no sweeter opera character exists. Callas just sings badly here, as often. But what intelligence! What musicality! Her Tosca really works! Great singing!
@@mckavitt Not only mine, as a matter a fact, you are in minority with disputing that Callas Violetta was not a good one. But everybody has their tastes and we all should stick to listening to what we like. Good bye.
Daniela d No, I am not in the minority amongst opera critics for this role. There are several sopranos who are considered to be better as the adorable & so wronged Violetta.
I love Callas's speaking voice. She sounds so classy.
Wonderful to experience Kiri's teaching like this! Thank you.

There is no doubting the talent and the beauty of Callas.
"Parts 3 and 4 were blocked by the Royal Opera House" - nice work! Not. There is not a penny to be gained by this, only a lot to lose.
Well said!
Dame Kiri is phenomenal. What a beautiful woman she is!!!

Vielen Dank für das wunderbare Video🎶🎵

Kai Yan RIGHT! All that Squillo!
Gracias por el video...
I heard most of them. Nothing came close to Nilsson. That was a total experience
Where do I find this Recording? I would like to buy it
Goddamit, it cuts on the best part! Where can we buy this doc?
Is the 'o' of 'tesoro' open? I would have thought not.
Where is Montserrat Caballe?

Where are parts 3 and 4 of this documentary?
thanks
i know right!
Just had the same problem and dig some digging. Parts 3 and 4 were blocked by the Royal Opera House because of copyrighting.
:(
Callas: sing everything with bitter hatred feeling
but she still better than most of modern singers
Kai Yan T all depends on what moves you.
Shut up
@@shaundudley4576 I am sorry, who are you?
Someone who has had enough of fools who think pissing on blessings is cool.
@@shaundudley4576 if you say so
Whenever I want to hear perfection, I listen to this Callas ' Vissi D'arte
i listen to monserrat caballe
It's unfortunate there is no film of Callas in her prime.
Callas might have fared better as a mezzo? I love her as Carmen

You are right. The film is wrong.
hey that's my name at the beginning.. hahahaha
Para querré como te quiero
What the devil????!
Why does Kiri make her sing white and spread? That's wrong.

Daniela d Violetta is no mere prostitute. Don’t you know the opera?
@@mckavitt Yes I do, and Callas gave the best interpretation to what Verdi put on score.
Daniela d Your opinion.
