Number one for eight weeks. Mind boggling. The song Stay was a definitive part of my early teenage years. They were vimar German silent film imagery meets Kate Bush meets PJ Harvey meets Post New Romantic and Pre Goth. Amazingly underrated acts of the 90's hands down.
thanks so much for posting this. I remember watching this interview. 7.22 male groupies throwing their underwear, they said it never happened..LOL. The next night they played Montreal and of course, I brought a pair of my underwear...LOL! good times. messaged Marcy last year to let her know I am still listening :) sweet
Not once did Siobhan, Marcy or the interviewer Mike utter the “Bananarama” name during this interview. I suppose before the interview it was said not to bring up Siobhan’s past with Bananarama and to focus on the “Hormonally Yours” era and the Shakespear’s Sister band as a whole.
@@jushinliger8545 They had quite a few other great songs on the album. Hello-Turn Your Radio On and Goodbye Cruel World I think are better than Stay. They got back together last year and have new songs.
Siohban should have stayed with the Bananarama. Anyone who grew up in the 80s can still relate to them to date. Well, she is now back with Keren and Sarah which is where she belongs really. Last year, they had a great reunion tour worldwide. They still have a ton of fans around the world. The Shakespears Sister was more like a project and a phase that she went through more than anything else. Afterall, Siobhan literally grew up with Keren and Sarah, they lived and clubbed in London together even before they became the Bananarama.
..and now she has left Bananarama AGAIN and reunited with Marcella and doing Shakespears Sister AGAIN in 2019. Healing old wounds seems to be the theme for Siobhan and good on her.
She who spelt it delt it😂 jk spelt is a past participle and is correct spelling, it is just used wrong, so grammatical error not spelling one. Tell dude to shove off 😜

I saw them at RPM in Toronto that night and I made my way to the front row - they were absolutely fan-freaking-tastic!
Marcella was Trinity from the Matrix before Trinity even existed
🤔😁🤣❣️🇬🇧
i love you siobhan fahey so cute

I love this
me too. :D I love the chemistry between them. :D
The body language between them is intense you can tell how much they dislike each other.
Not true
You should watch their performances and interviews from 2019. They've clearly resolved their differences and are writing new music again!
@@grahamkey8496 That is good news and thanks for the update. I will go and see how they are doing again.
@@grahamkey8496 tension
clearly so@@grahamkey8496
Interesting interview. Unfortunately they split up a short time later. They were dynamic together but obviously something went wrong.
Clearly it was hard to promote them after stay other songs were ok but stay defines them as one hit wonders

Why Mike Williams???

Siobhán
If Paige from the WWE & Trinity from The Matrix formed a band? They'd look a lot like...
Never heard of them and if I heard their songs was not aware it was them.......love Bananarama.
You've gotta watch their "Stay" video. Different from Bananarama for sure but this song will stay with you.
I don’t care if you talk about me
I just don’t care
Marcella Detroit is the 🧠🧠's behind the band ✌️❣️🇬🇧
Marcy doesn't look very happy here.
great writing, great guitarist, great harmonies...horrible painful screetching...stay is my least favorite song...
