- Have you ever wanted to learn how to make the wormhole optical illusion? Well here's a way to do it in Adobe Illustrator. We're going to be using concentric rings that will be pulled into the center of the image, giving the effect of a black-hole.
Now this process does take some time to finish removing all the lines from the image, but you can also increase the line spacing and make your life a lot easier.
In this tutorial you will learn how to use:
- Blend tool
- 3D revolve tool

For those who get a different 3D menu when adding the "Revolve", for the one like in the video, choose "Revolve (Classic)". In 2023 there is a new interface by default. THIS is using the classic interface.
Hi, it's a great tutorial. However, I'd like to go feather and make some adjustments. What about if I'd like to merge the pieces altogether to get one shape? I tried to unite or merge option in pathfinder, but the outcome is a little bit weird. Do you know any better way? And what if I'd like to change color or apply a gradient to the lines? I'd be appreciated if you answer any of these questions.
Nice! Thank you.
You're welcome!
Neato, just what I was looking for, thanks.

Hello and thank you for creative video. Can You please let me know if this can be created with any photograph in adobe illustrator?
And what software to use in Adobe CC?
Thank you.
The software is Adobe Illustrator, it's part of Adobe CC.
I don't see "release clipping mask" after the double ungroup.
me either dude. im so confused. someone help lol
you have to have it isolated, then ungroup
deselect and then select again
Thanks for adding the clarification!
@@Dens3Macabre I don’t get it
I mean... Why didn't you just leave a quarter of a circle before making a 3d shape. And... you guessed, no? Why didn't you just make a TWO colored black and WHITE pattern for the 3d shape instead of deleting black stripes behind the 'transparent' (or rather non-existent) lines, ok, not lines, gaps. Weird job.
