He had a modern game in the 70s. Simply amazing.

I imitated this guys game. Was one of my favorites. He could do it all. His reverse dunks in the game with defenders on him were spectacular.

In my opinion at one time, Marques was pound for pound the best small forward in the NBA, I also remember whe he lead the Milwaukee bucks to a sweep over larry bird and his Celtics in the playoffs

About the only thing I have in common with Michael Jordan: we both had Marques Johnson posters up in our bedrooms. I was so lucky to get to watch all the Bucks games with Marques when I was a kid in Milwaukee. He was also nice when I asked him for an autograph.

Marques was a great player and one year helped lead the Bucks over the Larry Bird Celtics back in the early 80s. He was unselfish but you could count on Marques for 20+ ppg, 8 boards, and a handful of assists.

Yeah, they swept the Celtics in '83, but lost to that great Philly team in the conference finals, 4-1. That Bucks team was loaded, but they had to deal with Boston & Philly.

@@MrBronx61 The Bucks were in the top few teams in a very strong eastern conference in the early 80s. There were some great teams in that time period, I loved watching NBA basketball then with all that talent and skill.

He needs to be in the HOF!!! Come on. He was probably the 3rd best forward of the era. Erving and Bird were better overall, but Marques was better than Worthy. All of those are in the HOF. Give the man his due. He was one of the best at his position. Toni Kukoc just got elected averaging 11/4/3! Marques' numbers are roughly Chris Webber's numbers FYI.
