Imagine a EVGA Intel GPU, that would sell faster than any cards released last 5 years
Yep if they made B570 B580 EVGA cards theyd all be top sellers on amazn.
one could only hope 🥲
B770 with an aio. it would be crazy
If they would make a B770 I would trade my 4060 and some cash in a heartbeat
Yeah, that's what I thought too. Instant buy, I don't give a damn. Just to show our EVGA and Arc guys some love. Even if I needed to go higher spec - I'd just hang it on a wall in a frame. We need exciting tech, not calculated most bang for buck crap.
damn 1st hard Rs now P Diddy
Wut

Ah got it.. where was the hard R tho??
"Dozens of peiple are playing starfield" LMAO
ngl, that caught me off guard🤣
he was so generous with that
I'm waiting for it to go on sale as cheap as Fallout 4 gets, meaning
Still garbage. Same Slog, same shit. I absolutely hate it. Runs like a crusty dried turd that was shat out the ass of an unreal 5 game.. . yes I know its not UE5, but still
@@HardWhereHerostarfield wish its engine was anywhere near ue5 instead of actually being forced to run on an engine from 1997 with a thin layer of makeup on 😂
I think this requires a new intel arc challenge
I second this!
I third
I forth this
Probably need a new name too
I fifth.. sixth?
Gotta give Intel credit for reviving the budget GPU segment. Now I hope the ARC division can make it onto Celestial and Druid and eventually start to compete up the stack!
cap the msrp is fake
Intel should really try to court EVGA.
NVidia would send the hitman 😂 but yeah that would be nuts
Amazing idea. That would be crazy. Would make Jay's two cents cry with joy
Unfortunately EVGA is sunsetting as a company. It won't come back in any form once they'll have exhausted all the open warranty windows...
EVGA wants to be on top. Intel GPU is good but they aint on top.
Or AMD
"Do you have any idea what it felt like to wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy" - Linus, Linus Tech Tips, 2024
the mask is showing new cracks again. There is a pattern here and became a trend at this point.
I just love the title
22:50 we shall never forget Intel for finally doing the right thing and Linus for reminding us to never forget who helped steer the ship to actual fair priced graphics cards. glhf fam
p.s. i remember the 1060 6GB... good times.
For me, was the RX580 8GB. This is more homage to that IMO. It was not trying to be a flagship, not trying to be too budget, didnt spoil like milk. It was just a Good Product at a Good Price for the Product.
@@YaKillaCJ And it was super easy to port to from consoles...making it uber-performant in esport and less complex titles. My hope is that RDNA4 will follow the same philosophy in response to Battlemage. I've been happy overall with AMD lately and I would love for Radeon to bring back the fight rather than having to consider to swap driver once again...
I REALLY hope this sells extremely well. It’s the first budget gpu worth buying since the GTX 1060 and rx 580. Both nvidia and amd got complacent, Intel has a huge opportunity here to punish them for it, if they can produce enough.
It already is, always sold out here at my local microcenter lol
@@sarkaranish do you work there? What’s the supply like? Selling out means nothing on its own. Selling 2 cards vs 20 is huge.
Mind Faxtory numbers in europe are 90 cards between every store. Absolute paper launch.
@@Sir_punchwood that's a very reasonable number of cards. Just be patient they're always restocking
@@tiduszk no they get like 100 a week or something, I don't work there but yeah it's a lot of cards being sold
I do miss the old graphics card videos, but thanks for putting in perspective why they've kind of had to go away for so long.
In two years they iterated from initial release to a successful product launch. Less time than NVidia took to go from RTX 40 to 50 series. Intel's AI upscaling was out and viable before AMDs offering.
And they fire the guy orchestrating all these plays into the GPU and AI market right before launch. Crazy.
If you told me when I bought my first ryzen 1600 that I would be rooting for Intel in 2025 I would have probably laughed at you.
But not that you root for them because AMD f-ed up but because they are now the underdog
Legit Intel showing the others that there are intangible but important benefits to cards priced where people can afford them was not on my 2024 bingo card.
It's not about Battlemage being exciting (22:39) but rather it's a GPU that the vast majority of PC gamers can actually afford.
sure but the driver tho not yet
The Drivers suck. I can’t recommend those cards. And the fact that Arc is shakey when it comes to certain games
So glad we have someone else for the GPU market creating competition.
Pat helped design the 486 man. Big respect.
Linus wakes up coved in baby oil
Annual cycles are awful. They teach software devs to push the hardware. They create a constant sense of FOMO. They generate a ton of waste, and they put financial pressure on purchasers. I'd be happy with a 5 year cycle, with well optimised games. GPUs and CPUs were never supposed to be disposable.
5 year cycles are a little bit.. much. every 2 years would be a bit more sensible IMO,
Computer hardware has always been disposable. It's relatively inexpensive and easily replaceable (at least here in the US).
Same, 3-5 year buy an old card and be amazed it just works!
@@maxstrong1999expect the silica sand isn’t and when it runs out that will make things really interesting
This is very closely related to console generations, and is why devs prefer to develop on consoles -- over time the hardware and the SDKs for it get consolidated, so after 1-2 years it's not a pain to develop for it.
Note that if SDKs are good enough, the difference in hardware implementations becomes less and less important.
I like how the graphics card is priced the same as LTT backpack
Intel is doing what I've been wishing AMD would (good raytracing and upscaling) to compete with NVIDIA, but is cheaper.
Mind blown
enter third user (at least on the GPU side)🙃
Intel doing this , is so much better than if amd did ..this is going to fix the budget gpu in the future with 3 companies competing

Time for a new Arc intel challenge
Second this
i bult a new pc in the end of 2022 so i absolutely don't need a new pc but I want arc to win so fucking bad
amd won hearts and minds with the x3d lineup and I hope that intel can do the same or similar with arc
came out at the perfect time as I'm building a new PC for my partner
Sue did an interview a week or so ago. There was a little line in the interview I think a lot of people missed. x3d is probably coming to their GPU lineup. Don't know how. Don't know when. But she held a lab product sample they were testing and said it had 3d v-cache. From the sounds of it though it wasn't the generation which will release in a month or two but the generation after. My best guess is they are taking the new stack design with the ram under the cpu instead of on top and pushing it into GPUs.
It won’t. Because what casual consumer would look at intel for a GPU, when the vast majority of consumers don’t even bother with AMD PCs? This is why prebuilt use *NVIDIA*
@@REXae86 Nvidia is under investigation for anti-consumer practices like paying PC builders off in how many countries again?
Can we get EVGA intel cards?
one (we) can only wish🥲
Its the new baseline. If your gpu is $100 more but only 10-15% better people are gonna raise an eyebrow.
29:55 It might actually be a good video idea to review old cards again and see how much extra performance we got from driver updates. I think you guys did this before but it was a long time ago.
I’ve been putting off a complete PC upgrade for a bit now, my 1660 TI and i7 9700 have been doing good enough up until about a year ago. I plan on supporting Intel Arc for my upgrade, not only because it’s about all I can realistically afford to spend on a hobby item but because I strongly believe in voting with your dollar and I hope Intel keeps doing what they’ve done with Alchemist and Battle Mage.
Based! I did the same when I built my first all new PC last year and jumped on alchemist
Good. BTW I would keep the i7 9700 for now and just buy the B580 (and sell the 1660 Ti). There's nothing significant to be gained from a CPU upgrade unless you're playing competitive tournaments at 1080p.
@ I’ve considered that, but I’ve been leaning towards upgrading to a 5700X3D. I’m already going to be replacing my GPU and motherboard so I figured I’d just do the CPU at the same time and hopefully be able to go a good long while before I need to upgrade anything again. I also planned on passing down the guts into a new case for my parents even though it’s certainly more power than they’ll ever use.
Starfield is so badly optimized, at launch it even ran worse on AMD than Nvidia and it was an AMD sponsored title
I'd be delighted to buy Arc B700 if it existed. Just to be safe for 1440p for the future and maybe even 4K
It’s crazy reading “The Nvidia Way” by Tae Kim, that Nvidia was the distributor in the market and created the lower end cards.
I was not expecting 30 min of positivity
wasnt the last decent priced midrange gpu the RX480-RX580 polaris era? but that's 2016 lol
I'm definitely going intel with my next build. I'm hoping for a 780 but that said I don't need a higher res than 1440p for a whike
If you’re looking for content im sure alot of people would be interested in cool homelab/tinkering stuff, especially since it can run on next to anything meaning more people can engage with it
Scalpers got all the B580s!!!! Reselling for $100 - $150 over retail!!!!!
That's just stupid, there are better products out there in that price class.
New Arc challenge when? 👀
Excellent title
I love how scalpers skip me in line and then try to sell me the card because they skipped me in line and I couldn’t get it anywhere.
Worth the wait ..expecially if it’s weekly stocked weekly .. very happy with mine and gotta wait to get another for my wife .. and not breaking the bank for getting 2 !
Also from 13:00 linus is doing a great bill burr impression
YES, FINALLY! SOMEONE ELSE SAW IT!
Nice rant Linus. Thank you for voicing what I feel about these ridiculous GPU prices.
I've been rocking my GTX 1070 since release, and once it croaks or I can no longer play the games I want to play I'm switching to Arc.
Transparency, truthfulness, and fair benchmarking are very important in this industry. These will make the whole pie to grow faster.
In sweden the B580 is ~$315 and the 7700xt is $510
Thats crazy in Netherlands b580 is ~330 usd and 7700xt ~340 is like linus said
DO NOT START Paying 400.00 Plus for it they will up the prices to 600.00 700.00 Buy only the best prices or do not buy or the point of having a Excellent priced card will end uop costing a small fortune again.
My last GPU purchase was a $400 used GPU. For me, Intel was just a year or so too late. But if they can keep going, I will seriously check them out when it's time to upgrade again.
Worth it… very happy with mine
Im thinking about putting an arc in my nas for plex transcoding
well keep thinking because you can't get one
@@Elatenl sure he can, because he only needs an A310 or A380 for that. No trouble getting one of those.
@@ryanspencer6778 yeah B580 is way overkill for NAS an A380 will handle that handsomely
Idle power draw is 2 much. Might want to opt for n100 or similar instead.
@@RawmanFilm How do you even _buy_ an N100? Is that even available for retail, and not just to OEMs?
clickbait its actually 31 minutes of Linus Sebastian from Canada ranting about the company Intel.
Would you say it's intel about...Intel?
No there's a solid minute about Kesha
8:55 I don't know what that is, and even YT caption can't generate that part
8:46 - 8:55 "... do you have any idea what it felt like, to wake up in the morning, feeling like P. Diddy?"
Celestial is not baked but xe3 architecture is. They use xe3 architecture to make celestial gpu hardware. Xe3 is basically the core architecture and celestial will be designed around it.
Damn it. I had that Kesha lyric running in my head before you even said it. So you're not alone.
"waking up like P Diddy" reminded me of Linus's "hard r" moment lol
So how is the 580 for video editing, blender and streaming?
The only thing that I hope isn't the case with theses cards is that they aren't priced so aggressively, perhaps at poental loss leading?, specifically to get a large userbase then slowly creep up the same way Nvidia and AMD have.
But at least there will be more competition then, and they are certainly being competitive now.
Intel sort of needs to establish an install base so that games and graphics applications properly support their cards at launch (which is why the pricing is so competitive). Having a third (proper) GPU developer is definitely good for the market though, duopolies are not much better than monopolies at the end of the day.
They almost certainly are selling these at a loss but I hope they can mitigate the loss by clever logistics and parts sharing or economies of scale. They need to gain market- and mindshare and also really need people buying it en masse to help driver development. Now is the time to be aggressive (even at a loss), profits will come later.
These cards are being sold at a loss, or maaaaayyybe the AIBs are making a couple percent on them. They can't sell a 4070TI sized 4 NM Die with 12 gigs strapped to it with a quality cooler for $250. Nvidia is making 50 or 60% margins at 550, and they get a better deal on TSMC silicon than Intel does.
Waking up in the morning feeling like P Diddy
You could revisit CPU-GPU tests, how they changed/improved in performace.
For example, in February, you should revisit and compare Arrow Lake performance to see if Intel has indeed fixed ArrowLake.
I hope Intel doesn't kill off Arc GPUs, they're just starting to get successful
Anybody else feel like B580 was a paper launch?
If i didn't already have a a750, i'd be gettin' a B580
How's it going so far? also, what are you running for a cpu?
@@Vtarngpb Only about 92% compatibility rate, so so far Starfield and TLoU Remaster didn't work. 12-600.
Honestly, if in a couple months Intel comes out with a 400$ 4K-capable GPU, I'll buy it, no questions asked. I'll get the B580 in the meantime.
I've been putting aside a PC upgrade for about 6 years now, and I'm finally compelled to do it.
UA-cam adding audio popping to its re-encodes for three days now. When will they notice.
Intel taking Ls with their CPUs and Ws with their GPUs, and AMD slowly taking over the CPU market. What a time to be alive.
PS. I just feel like 'Celestial' in not an RPG class. It sounds more like a race than a class. C for Crusader sounds... better???
There are NO B580s avaible in Romania.
I ordered one from Germany for 325 euros, which is around 350 $, not including shipping.
The 7600 and 4060 are around the same price over here.
It is what it is...
Alza has a preorder available for around 294 euros
@ggs4869 sure but the one I got is already shipping, not a preorder.
So the NZXT segment from the previous WAN show wasn't worthy of a clip here. Not surprising after the very soft handling, but very telling. It's a shame because LTT always pride themselves in having a policy of "simply doing the right thing", but then sugar coating a blatant scam by saying "Well, others were worse in the past!". That's really disappointing to see.
(For the record, I don't think it's due to any grudge against GN, I just think they don't wanna leave NZXT behind as a partner by calling them out which still contradicts their own words from the past.)
Was able to get the new intel arc ..my wife wants one next .. very happy with it !!
B580 isn’t that great of a value card. There are several older cards that offer similar if not more performance per dollar that you can still buy “new”. But on the other hand it is nice to see a new release of a product that matches that value proposition that some older cards offer for a low price
A friend is looking to buy a new GPU soon, she's considering the 6750XT a 4 year old card, told her if she could find a 580 for about the same price or lower (price will change after import taxes) that's the one to get, excellent performance for the price, very modern architecture and will only get better with driver updates.
i remember the 1060 6GB... good times.
Im still using a 1060
Yeah thanks linus you got me fired. They called me into the HR office and told me that I had been talking to you and that I will be mopping force for them ever again.
In my country, I found a listing for B580 for 500$
Intel does what AMD used to do decades ago: offer low to mid end GPUs for a really good price.
Selling 200 gpus at 250$ each is better then selling 10 gpus at 300$ each
15:00 wrong. Influencers like your channel have more power and impact on the industry than you think... The best example was Fisker downfall made by...
Imagine - LMG, Gamers Nexus. JayzTwoCents, Hardware Canucks, Hardware Unboxed, Marques, and others would say "dont buy those GPUs at this price because it's scalping"... You have the power and you can influence the market. You only need to bundle your power.
intel marketing team is literally so stupid they need this advice from linus. Actually crazy how they went from 95% market share in CPU to 70% still being so high because of laptops and the stereotype against AMD still being a thing for not informed people. Otherwise we would have a larger market share for AMD for sure
I think, one of the reason that reviwer's get better results than Intel's is the CPU
Prices have started creeping in Norway, I did manage to order one before reviews started coming.
So I will maybe have it later today, it was supposed to come at my door yesterday, but a lot of storms made it late.
However I got it for ~330 USD (lowest price in Norway), now it is ~370 USD.
While this is more expensive than in USA, here the 4060 last week was about 400 USD (when the B580 was ~330 USD).
Now some of the 4060s have started going down in price, I see some for ~360 USD and ~350 USD.
I would still buy the B580 over the RTX 4060 however, as the 4060 has so little VRAM that textures pop.
SHould be said up untill now, I have just used Nvidia GPUS and I do use 4090 on my own rig.
I also have a laptop for the kid with 4070M and Intel CPU, but I am open to trying new hardware as always and the b580 looks like a nice product for my kid, so I chose it quite easilly over the Nvidia.
If the 7800 xt was a tiny bit cheaper (like 500 USD), I would have paid more and bought that. But cheapest I see it is 600$ in Norway.. Which I think is a tiny tad too high for what I expect (I know its much quickler than the b580...).
Soon at netflix: Begging is the new ranting
It feels like we feel pity for Intel.
He should rant about getting back billet labs' prototype back next
B580 prices are already creeping up in the UK, I watched the card climb twice in price in 1 day! now I don't mind paying +10-20 for ''OC'' models ect. but besides that they need to understand this is not an Nvidia card! it wont just sell for being a GPU regardless of the price! as soon as it reaches 300 or more it is no longer worth the risk of going with Intel! Amazon only stock scalp priced B580 having Gunnir cards mostly asking 330-390!! 🤡😂Imagine being Amazon and not stocking a GPU that had a ''sold out'' GPU release! 😂🤣 and only stocking scalped cards! Intel should put a price ceiling on this card or they will miss their opportunity at the market share.
Price ceilings don't exist for scalpers. Scalpers are independent individuals, they don't sign contracts with Intel to keep prices down or something.
I get your point, but personally, I would buy any Intel GPU right now (almost) regardless of the price, just so I can mess up with AMD and nVidia, and help Intel take marketshare.
The last thing we want for the next 2 years, is for Intel to not succeed long-term, and be forced out of the game, leaving us again with only AMD and nVidia options. That would be 2016-2024 again.
You know, sometimes it's not about the money. Sometimes it's about sending a message.
@cristinelcostachescu9585 I agree and I'm trying to do the same thing... if people refuse to pay artificially inflated prices, they will stay at MSRP or under... like every other product on the planet. Prices stay down, more people buy the card and not just people wanting to "send the message" regardless of the cost... more GPUs sold bigger message sent. So I agree with what your standing for just not how your willing to send it. 250 is what Intel intend the card to sell at, OC' models maybe +20-30 maybe +50 for a pointless would never happen water cooled model. People just need to stop over paying for GPUs period! If its not its release price or less... dont pay it! Retailers will quickly notice and adjust accordingly! If all MSRP cards are selling out and they can't shift a single card lol.
wake up in the morning feeling like p diddy.
FBI kicks in ur door!!!!!!
Just look at the die size of the b580. Intel wanted to go for the money. Tried to create a product that could compete with mid-range gpu's but failed. I'm willing to give Intel a try, but the price have to be competitive for me to justify the worse drivers and larger power usage compared to the competitors. 330 euro is to much for this product.
Ive just upgraded to a full amd setup moving on from nvidia for the next few years and maybe on my next upgrade i could do a full Intel build. Lets see how the next few generations work out.
Amd 7800xt dropped to $700 aud for 16gbs. I looked at it and went finally a price i will pay for a high end card
Im all for Intel continuing to improve and make a space for itself... but my eyes are set on a RTX5090, or RTX5080. Not only do I want that maximum power for the graphics enjoyment on my 4k 160hz monitor, but for anyone trying out and enjoying AI the nVidia Tensor neural net cores are essential. If Intel can make a better AI card then nVidia, that would catch a lot of people's attention.
Dont increase the price, update drivers regularly and get enough stock to buyers. Simply.
how is B series ark on linux?
Wendell tested that. It's passable, but still rough as of now. Also, you'd need to be on the bleeding edge kernel. So no Debian I suppose.
However, Intel does have a track record of supporting Linux, so we can expect it to get better soon.
Give it a month
YES YOU do have power You are not just a snooze off the street . YOU are a multi millionaire With PULL .
Nvidia is worth TRILLIONS. Thats all data center money. Gaming is a small piece of their pie. They dont care if they lose a bit of market share. They havent cared for 2 generations of pretty heavy stagnation. They have proven that 3090s or 4090s and soon 5090s sell, AND sell instantly. They beat AMD which is why AMD isnt competing with the 5080 or 5090 this gen.
fire title
Every year they bake new architecture like xe2/xe3/xe4 but it takes around 1 year to launch gpu using that architecture. If they keep doing this they can launch a newer generation of graphics card every year. If this happens they can match or surpass both AMD and Nvidia in a few generations. If not and they take two years to launch graphics card based on a couple years architecture they'll still bring performance closer to Nvidia but their cpu will surpass with integrated architecture and gpu based on that architecture will launch at later a year later.
2yrs from now and Team Green will still have 90% of the market.
Linus Knows people there Not just the janitor. WOW The episode I can die now Intel Fab tour in 2022. oh yes Vids do not lie.
Luke, come on. Still with only putting Nvidia as the "product to wait for"? Shouldn't we hope that Radeon brings the fire in January rather than sucking up to the usual ones?

Linus: *rants about AMD not releasing the none X-Version of the CPUs*

AMD: *announces 9600 release date* 😆
Now if AMD and Intel could actually work together for once to provide meaningful support to developers and even the people working on engines for actual optimization so that we stop getting stuff like medium settings with frame generation to get 60fps on 1080p on the ~$300 GPU range would be a great way to finally get rid of this era of flicker, temporal smear, noise and "upscale looks better than native!" Nvidia wants this to justify prices and AI BS that we shouldn't need. If they actually had the intention of DLSS be great at increasing fps and making cheaper GPUs feel better, then they would give people the VRAM for such use.
Competition is king.
