I appreciate your minimalistic take on journaling! When I first got started, I put so much pressure on myself to make it artsy, that it took the joy of journaling from me. Every video I saw either showed „a piece of art“ or it was a very rigid bullet concept. Neither appealed to me. Now I just do my own thing. I just wish I could have everything in one book. I have 4 active planners right now and can’t choose and am even looking at more. I am waiting for my order from Paper Plus Cloth which should arrive on Monday. I bought the vertical weekly undated x2 and the insert that has Tomoe river paper. My plan is to use the standard size but I also am loving on my passport size and also my hobo weeks and I have an a6 Midori notebook diary for 2023. Ugh!!! Today i was looking at Happy Planner and last night i was all overt the artistic bullet journalists’ YT channels.
I hear you, for a while I wanted to keep everything in one book too. What helps me is commuting one book to each purpose that I need a planner/journal for. So for planning I have my bujo, braindumping I have my regular tn and memory keeping my passport. But also sometimes it’s fun to try new things and switch up journals! If it’s fun and not stressful then why not try different things 🤗
Right now, I like having 3-4 different books for very specific different things. I 'supplement' them with some post-it notes in the front so that if I need to write a thing in one book while using another, I can take a note and when I'm done, I'll do that Other Thing. Before, the ADHD thing kept getting me distracted so I'd jump to another book and forget to finish the first thing. And then I'd actually get nothing done. Some years ago, I was in a similar situation to you. I got a mini-binder (after a regular one was too big) and had different sections. Those were divided by plastic dividers that could be bought as mini-binder inserts. I could make my own pages or buy pre-made lined, agenda, or blank pages. I used a mix of both. Different sections were things like goals/catchall; my agenda (one month on two pages, followed by 3-4 days per page); personal journal; and usually Stuff I needed to work on, like school notes that I could do while on a bus, copies of year passes to a park, projects I'm planning out, etc. I had tried getting a blank book and dividing sections with washi but pages started falling out or I couldn't insert things easily, couldn't move anything around, etc. and it was annoying. I could do all of those with the mini-binder. It's one option you might like and I got all of that stuff at Target or an office supply store (Wal-mart didn't have any of it.)
Ooooh, I love those thin washi tapes!!! What brand are they?? I also find it more manageable to keep my work and personal together in my bullet journal.
