- Escher's work covered a variety of subjects throughout his life. His early love of portraits, Roman and Italian landscapes and of nature, eventually gave way to regular division of the plane.. Over 150 colorful and recognizable works testify to Escher's ingenuity and vision. He managed to capture the notion of hyperbolic space on a fixed 2-dimensional plane as well as translating the principles of regular division onto a number of 3-dimensional objects such as spheres, columns and cubes. A number of his prints combine both 2 and 3-dimensional images with startling effect.. His art continues to amaze and wonder millions of people all over the world. In his work we recognize his keen observation of the world around us and the expressions of his own fantasies. . M.C. Escher shows us that reality is wondrous, comprehensible and fascinating....
For those who are Esher fans .There is a permanent Escher Museum in the city of The Hague ( the Netherlands) Located In the old 'Paleis Voorhout ('small 'ex -royal palace ). Beside his original work, there are some rooms hallways, 3d projections/movies etc blend in, to mimic Esher's reality'.

MC Escher totally SCREWS with my mind....in the most awesome way possible. You can look at his pictures and seriously go insane if you're not careful. He really makes you think when viewing his art. Amazing decades later!!!
Great choice of music. A beautiful, haunting Chopin Nocturne that was published posthumously. One of my favorites, so charming in it's simplicity and appeal. The Vivaldi is very fitting as well.
If you have an opportunity to view Escher's works in person - jump at the chance!! Some of the pieces are much larger than what fits in a book!! LOVE his mathematical mind!!
Fell in love with this artist on my visits to the Metropolitan Museum of Art while attending P.S.6 in NYC.
MC Escher was a unique genius on the planet Earth. Incomparable and discoverer. He was very unique as an artist and did not imitate any other artist. MC Escher I already found in countless books. Often as an enclosed inspiration of an article. MC Escher is immortal. He will still be remembered when we are all dead and forgotten.
Thoroughly enjoyed this brief introduction and especially appreciate the Chopin nocturne in the back ground. Thanks for uploading. I can never cease to be fascinated by Escher's art. Would love to see his works in person someday.

It is a wonderful story that Penrose communicated with Escher about "Improbable" spaces from the first Escher prints. Escher gave Penrose some original prints of his earlier prints. Their different worlds were combined. Escher went on to make more examples of "Improbability". Escher's work may lead us to a dimension we have not found so far!
Highly admired this language of balance & mastery. With a punch of mystery! Believe he motivated me on my blacks & whites I did long ago. I see him as an amazing and enigmatic artist born way before his time!!! 🌷⭐️

I enjoyed all of it except the last few minutes
The last 2 minute and 36 seconds of this video seem to deal with the clear light -- the place where all creativity and art come from -- the deep well from whence all thought arises -- the tabula rasa where individual ideas are born without built-in mental content and that therefore all knowledge comes from subjective experience or perception -- the unified field where all matter and energy are held in a state of constantly departing while always arriving (as per Laurie Anderson).

Could there be a correlation between MC Escher and e=mc2? Silly idea, . . . isn't it? But, isn't it sometimes the silliest or simplest idea that deserves the greatest deal of credit for possibly opening doors to broader perspectives?

I actually have the first pic on my wall , didn't even know who made it just thought it was thought provoking.
I think it is wonderful. And that does not do it justice. Have you seen that movie 13 Ghosts? this or something very much like it, was in it near the end. Also in the movie Contact, two, you see two of these encasing the things for space travel. (I am sorry I am sick with flu...) and something not the same but similar was in one of the Lara Croft movies...though I really need to look that one up before referring to it, but it was a similar concept.

It has an Argon Port, and stabalizers...I am a nerd but yes I just misspelled that lol, anyway, as to the official mathematical name of what it is called now your turn to surprise me, but I am telling you, it was in movies and supposedly a version was actually built and had purpose and tested, though not the result as was in 13 Ghosts (lol), or Contact...it is what it said, "Looking Glass"
