I've seen Galactic live 4 times and it's not enough. Absolute killer funk band, the best around. Each musician is unreal, especially Stanton Moore, the finest drummer in the world. Keep it up!
How Seriously Awesome Galactic is! My first experience with Macy Gray was when she released 'I try'. But for me personally my favorite Macy Gray track is 'Still' The track is a Soul Masterpiece.
So which selection do you feel is worse? "Related To A Psychopath" or "I Try"? Both by the way are excellent tracks. But it's all a matter of opinion. All positive reviews, well except yours.
That's why people have opinions. Not to use them to agree with everyone else but to stimulate thought and growth.. The grooves on these tracks are just lame quite simply. Very sloppy and I usually refrain from using the word but it applies here....("white" sounding). Thank you for your polite response to my comment. I wasn't commenting to instigate anything other than people's possible re-evaluation of the tracks. Cheers

1st saw em in Augusta, GA on Jerry's Birthday, They played before Mule. That show I almost missed cause no one wanted the other ticket..a screwed up breed around these parts,so I thought, I'm taking my Mother. That was a night, a shitty day, but DEFINITELY a show I thank God & whatever other forces that pulled me there! 180-degree turn of feelings & I haven't been among people that nice since the 'good old days' of The Dead. Hope is in the sights again!

As I listen to this I am diggin how great this band always is. Isn't the bone-player Corey Henry??? He has a great funk-brass band of his own. Maybe his name will get introduced.
Try Corey Henry & the Treme Funktet on UA-cam. He also has a website (coreyhenry.com) and on FB, although I have not looked at them. His daughter is also a very accomplished horn player.

This show was so much better without Macy Gray... Galactic has had exponentially better vocalists who have no notoriety. When she walked on the stage it was like the energy was sucked right the fuck out of the room. I like the texture/style of Macy's voice but she just so fucking cookie cutter that I just cant.

I couldn't agree more. I was dancing so hard that I made eye contact with Macy and she started laughing. Buy the vinyl it's great!

what a great voice Macy has still got! Love the band, amazingly talented all around. Great backup singers too...her songs give me goosebumps.

Great bass player. Seriously. Pity we can’t hear him. Same with the Trombone. Terrific band, terrible mix. Very subpar for KEXP.
