Wouldn’t the fact that you alerted the rental manager and landlord to the issue before the flooding happened mean that they should be held liable for the damages to your items? Considering you made them fully aware and they basically refused to do anything about it.
JamieAiken919 true
I agree. If they were aware of the issue and didn't move fast enough, they're liable, I'd think?
JamieAiken919 true if anything is broken they should be held accountable for the damages
It baffles me how... level-headed you are about all this. I'm generally calm but my basement being flooded would bring out an insane level of anger and frustration from me.
My heart broke when I saw the water in there. I would be so sad if my studio flooded like that. Hopefully everything dries out and works ok. I think the art room upstairs is a better idea even if the room is smaller. At least that way it doesn’t happen again.
I’m sorry this happened! Take your time to get sorted before you make videos again 😊💕
Seeing all the water I couldn't help but think this in my head:
Who has an art studio under the sea? BAYLEE JAE!
I'm so sorry 😂
*Time for a 1,000lb bag of rice*
LOOOOL!!!
Mood
I’m done for the new challenge 😂😂
And Chinese food!
Lmao btw don't forget the Chinese
Ahhhhh the struggle!! Most of you viewers is artists...I'm pretty sure everyone understands! Lol
Oh yea I'm a artist and a gamer also and if that happen to me with my PC and art stuff I'd about die and couldn't be near is calm my PC alone is 2k$ and all ur furniture and stuff lord how r u so calm
Beast mode, you got so much done yourself! Proud of you!
I was literally jus scrolling to see if you posted yet and holy guacamole what great timing!
You poor babe that’s terrible that this happened to you of all people!
why is the thumbnail such a MOOD
Omg, I was just gonna comment this!
Righ this is me when i have science
like I laughed so hard at this thumbnail because that is me!!!
It's a baylee thing...
it really is lmao
I feel weird liking this video, but there's nothing I can do to help other than show support for the channel. It would be stressful and heartbreaking for anyone to get their stuff flooded, but when it's your buisness as well as your home it must be doubly frustrating! Also, I think with all the moving the chinese food will be burnt off already so I wouldn't even consider that breaking the diet :)
Grace under pressure! You might not have felt it but dang, grl, you sure looked like you took this situation in stride. I LOVE your ring set!! Take all the time you need and hell, film it, it's content!! Thanks for sharing the hard times as well as the good. We appreciate you so very much!!
If you don't own your house you might have to ask your landlord but you can get a really long ethernet cord drill holes in the floor run the cable up to the ceiling to the wanted room, or if you can't drill holes (or you have concrete floors like I did in my first house) and just run the cable along the walls, up the stairs, and along the walls into the room that you want, good luck
Your motivation and outlook on the situation is honestly so admirable. I would have been useless and a hot mess and just...bad. But I’m glad you found the positives of this and very little actually got damaged/destroyed. 💜💜
Also, YES you deserve every bit of that Chinese and I’m so happy you got it lol! I cheered somewhat loudly when I saw your plate of Chinese food and scared both my dog and my cat by accident 😂. Oops 🤷🏻♀️
anyone else heartbroken at the thought of her getting rid of her desk..? I’ve been here since she’s worked in animation and I can’t imagine her not using that desk 😭
I know right? It's so sad to think she won't have it anymore, I can only hope all of this ends well and as soon as it can. And her new desk will be nice and she loves it too.
So sorry. I can feel your pain. We had a flood this past summer that was bad. I cried many tears
Baylee the owner of you apartment needs to pay you for all your property that got damaged my the water
Jesus Duarte that’s what tenant insurance is for. Landlord is not responsible for the occupants items unfortunately :(
I love not to far from Baylee and been through a flood
No they don't. This is why renters need insurance
@@aquariusbabe8639 They could be under certain circumstances.
@@mjcookieLOVE srsly not? Where I live the landlord has to pay such stuff owo
Kelsey A If the flood occurred because of the landlords negligence then they could be responsible for her damaged items. But if it was out of everyone’s control, then yes, she would most likely need renters insurance.
When I saw your last video my heart dropped. That was an artists nightmare and I'm so sorry that has happened to you. I hope everything goes well. God Bless!
Just praying 🙏🏻! So, thankful you are alive! Your Landlords better be praying that you were not seriously injured!! Prayers!
I'm so glad they are ripping up the floors and checking all the walls! We got a toxic mold problem after water damage that made my husband and I (and our cats) extremely sick. I know it's a pain now, but I'm thrilled to hear they're being so thorough.
i feel like it is time to find a new apartment/house. so sorry this happened to you. i dont know what i would do if that happened to me, but seems like ur handling it well
EeveePisces seems like she’s been having a lot of problems with the property. Feel so bad for her 😭
@@Jade-zx8md yeah me too all her electronics might be damaged but hopefully they still work. cause if its not workable, then she has to get it fixed or buy new ones and that costs a lot of money. my family has been living in the same apartment for 9 years and they dont want to move. she did mention in one of her vlogs a while ago that she loves her apartment and dont want to move for a while, so i can understand that.
It is so crazy to see your art room so empty! I'm so sorry that happened and I hope nothing is damaged badly. Btw, I hope moving your art room works out well!! ❤️❤️😘
omg, u poor thing!! D: your eyes were all bloodshot(red) in the end T_T I really love your channel. I bet you'll be up and running in no time! best wishes! and take it easy!
I'm super glad that your computer seems safe out of everything, i hope you saw that message about silica packs and wiping off everything for corrosion.looking forward to the follow up vlogs and the new art room bailey!!
you could ask the landlord if you can remove the wall between the cat room and the spare bedroom ehich would give you a way bigger space
That would be awful for future listings though so i doubt she will allow it
@@03souse as true as that may be cant hurt to at least ask....
How are you so calm?! Like actually I would be crying so much and maybe screaming in frustration and stress
Went through this last Spring! There was as much water as you have now. Our basement pump stopped working and all the water that would have been pushed out of our well type system ended up in the house and not in the yard where it should have gone. It was standing water and literally as high as yours was, not too much. Called in people and 3ft from the bottom of all the paneling had to go and be replaced. Since they come in sheets and no longer make what we had....80's home....we just tore it all out. Of course carpet went bye bye but laminate and concrete was fine to stay. Over all it took about 2 month to clean it all up. Our whole basement had to me moved into the garage or our attic. Our basement had 30 years of stuff plus it was primary storage. The one thing to remember is if this happened once it WILL happen again unless a well system is put in to flush out water. Best course of action is to use flooring that will basically be water proof and have nothing on the floor that will get ruined, everything up off the ground from now on.
Don't worry about the cost it is worth it i have had 17 floods in my house and I recommend redoing the floor with tile it is really handy
I remember about a year ago we had a huge monsoon storm (what we call rain in Arizona lol) and our living room and dining room flooded because it came in through the sliding glass door and we had to move EVERYTHING so they could rip up the carpeting and bring in massive fans to dry everything. That was awesome to wake up to as well, so I feel your pain.
The Animators Survival Guide!!! I love that book. I'm so sorry to hear about all your troubles. Take all the time you need.
I'm surprised the rental company didn't pay for movers to pack up and move your stuff as it was not your fault for the flooding. Also, if you get pictures of all that their insurance should pay for the things you get rid of like bookcases that were wet on bottom, etc.
I think I’d go completely nuts if this happened to me. You’re taking this so well. I admire your calmness!
You worked really hard to clear out your room. I am hoping things return to functioning order for you soon! This sort of situation is awful in the moment and can be tough to recover from, but one thing I’ve always noticed about you is that you bounce back really well.
Water restoration is what my husband used to do for work. It really bites that you have to go through this. Im glad it wasn’t worse, some people have dealt with 2 or 3 FEET of raw sewage in their basements which the resto people have to suit up and get into. 🤢
Maybe you can use both those rooms for your art room where you have all your studio with drawings, desk with copies, dolls, and posters and the other room being your office with the printers, computers, button and sticker machine and such! So you can have room for so much more!
I'll be sad to see your desk go! You've made so many great memories with it.
Aww baylee! I can see how stressed and upset this whole situation has made you! Don't worry babe! These things happen, but try look at things from a more positive light. Take a break for yourself girl! You work so hard all the time! All the love queen xx
I'm glad your landlord is fixing it fast. Hopefully everything drys out fast. Keep your chin up!
This is a complete total nightmare! Water damage and flooding is unpredictable but when it happens it’s horrible! It’s good you have insurance and the house is covered but it’s a pain to have to deal with such destructive damage especially during the holiday! What a pain!!!!!
Your vlogs are so fun to watch 💙 They're light yet entertaining! Love from Malta 🇲🇹
19:31 that amazon box in the background is so relevant to the mood it'd not even funny
such a nightmare. I'm amazed seeing you relatively calm throughout this situation, I would be just devistated and panicking!
Wow that's freaking crazy girl. I'm sorry this happened to you. I hope and pray none of your supplies or electronics are damaged. Try not to stress too much about videos. You have enough stress right now. Just try to breathe. We love you and we will still be here if you need to take a break.
Honestly though I'm glad your rental company was being proactive rather than waiting
Or wait. Its still technically reactive.
At least the didnt wait for the rain to stop. Thats what im trying to say 😂
daniloosesit haha I. Would be importable to wait for the rain here :(
I’m glad they are being proactive with the situation as well. It’s going to be a messy rough few months - I’ve had a flooded basement before. Was really glad to hear they are ripping out bottom part of the walls to get the air in and flooring etc. sooner it can dry out less chance of mold. It’s all pointless if they don’t solve the draining issue outside first.
Talk to the owner of the property to see if they can pay you back for the damages. Also talk to your insurance. You shouldn’t be the only person/party to pay for this. Hope it all works out for you!
What a stressful situation. I hope it gets fixed soon.
Oh baylee!! Nooo not u .thats an artists nightmare! Hope all your stuff dries and works 😭love from England 🏴
Ugh! i feel SOO Bad for you, that must be SUCH A pain! I wish you the best of luck, and that your things aren't badly dammaged!
Just watching this is stressful. I can only imagine what you’re going thru. I hope things are getting better
Next time you should flip the circuit breaker before you moved all the electrical
Come summer time you're gonna hate being upstairs, portable AC is so loud and annoying especially if you are doing live streams and recording. Maybe even using the storage room as your new room would be good since it seems your current room is the low spot of the basement. I deff understand the worry though. I hope they find the cause before attempting to fix it and the reno doesnt cut into your trip back home, contractors aren't known for accurate time frames.
Glad you got your bling back! I was binge watching Twitch today while cleaning. Glad you are smiling!
I am so sorry that you have had to deal with all of this. I am super impressed with how well you’ve been handling it all!
I'm so imressed of your attitude in all of this :O I'm like in tears watching all of this happening and I know its just stuff but heeeell... So.. really hoped things turned out great during christmas, and that the ones responseble are done fixing this soon
Dont stress yourself out too much. You will get everything back together looking great soon.
I'm so sorry this happened to you Baylee! You are handling the situation so well
So sorry this happened...on a side note....your skin is glowing !!!!!
Oh my God! You handled it so well and all by yourself. Go girl 👧
You’re handling this so well! You can do it!! ❤️
Unfortunate that this happened but, this could be a blessing in disguise. Especially if you've been thinking about moving your art room upstairs anyways. If you do decide to stay downstairs, I would start thinking about how to elevate things, just in case this were to happen again. I'm not surprised they would want to cut into the walls - it's something we see here in FL quite a lot (or anywhere that floods). They have to cut into the wall up a certain amount above the water line in case of mold. I would probably turn the downstairs room into a library of sorts - but get bookcases that sit above the floor. At least there wasn't carpet downstairs.
Go girlpower! You're handling this like a superstar!
This happened to me last Christmas. My room is in the basement of our house and in the middle of the night on the 21st our sump pump busted, resulting in the lowest part of the basement to flood, my room, and our utility room. My carpet was trashed, and I had to sleep in our family room upstairs for a week during Christmas. We were able to replace my floor with laminate wood and placed a rubber sided plywood underneath to prevent anything from getting wet if it ever flooded again.
The flood that will force upgrades on furniture. Can't believe the large desk is going to go away forever :o
Girl you so deserve that Chinese’s bless you I hope that everything works out soon and that everything is dry again soona don’t have to much damage x
Gah!! I've been there!! We have a duplex and the attached house's sewer backed up and flooded through the wall. Le stress. I had to take the shop vac and suck up the water. My bf went next door and they had no idea. Their whole basement was squishy. I feel your pain. Ever since then we elevated everything on pallets and tables. Fingers crossed everything can be revived!!
Bless your hard-working heart!!! Do they know yet what actually caused the flood??? Sending love & hugs!!! ❤️🎄💚🎄❤️
OMG girl I can't even imagine!! I am so sorry that happened to y'all!! *hugs*
awww riiippp
I'm currently moving and I haven't been able to film videos or had time to edit I know how frustrating it is. I hope everything is coming together now so you can get back to work! :D
I cried so hard when you said you had to move everything from in the basement I know I don’t know you personally but you feel like family to me and you always make me happy when I’m sad or mad and you make me laugh always and you are one of my biggest inspirations in the entire world and I love you so much and I hope you and Christian and the cats get through this ❤️❤️❤️
I watched the video on your main channel a few days ago, but my heart just dropped all over again. 😔
I am sou sorry this happened. I had something similar in the beginning of the year. It's extremely stressful, but eventually it'll be over and dry. I hope your landlord is making the necessary repairs so the flooding doesn't happen again.
You are dealing with this a lot better than I would!
Wow! You did alot! Sorry you are having to go through all this. I've had water leaks too...no fun at all!
I feel for you. My apt recently flooded, but mine was due to a sewage issue. I lost a lot of stuff. Furniture, rugs, etc. It sucks, but on the bright side I get to redecorate 😆 Best of luck with your house ❤️
That happen to my room a few years ago. Lots of furniture ruined and my charging cellphone under 2cm of water... while plugged in. To clean up i tossed a blanket to soak up, put it in bucket and down to the washing mashine to wrung it, and repeat.
I think the Chinese was the least you deserved after what seems to have been a hectic few days. To still be able to Vlog whilst going through what you have so far and then finding out it's much worse, with a smile on your face is amazing. I think you should be prod of yourself, and also to turn it into a positive with a room change, top bananas to you.
I feel so so so bad for you Baylee 😩❤️ I hope everything gets better soon 💜
Keep on keeping that chin up, Bayls! You are doing a great job! I can’t wait to see what the new art room is gonna look like! ♥️
This entire thing happening right before Christmas is awful, I'm so sorry! You seem to be dealing with it a lot better than I would! It's going to be sad without your big desk, you've had it for such a long time
Every time I see an update about this my heart just sinks. Your art room was so beautiful. How did the landlord not know that it had that problem? My husband says it's better to take apart the bigger electronics than to put them in rice (he's mad at the person that invented that). It's good for small electronics but for the bigger no? (I can't always remember everything he tells me) I hope everything gets better for you. Just seeing this is heartbreaking. I hope none of your beautiful art got damaged.
It’s kinda sad to think about you no longer having that huge desk seeing as it was such a big ass accomplishment and prized possession early on BUT this could be a good change? Hopefully you’ll like the next one just as much as you did your old one.
Here’s to hopefully pleasant new beginnings and this mess to resolve quickly 😓♥️
Wishing you every bit of luck with all of this - your strength is shining through this desperate situation which is the Baylee we know and love 💕 wishing you both a happy Christmas 🎄 and a great party 🥳🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Oh boi. I'm sorry that happened, good luck! You can do it though, you're strong.
omg im so sorry for u! i hope u are well, be strong :) i hope this gets resolved soon. take your time :)
Dude, you are so calm and rational. I would be having a quarter life crisis. Kudos to you. 🙌
I love how your cats just magical appear in a room
What a NIGHTMARE! I’m so sorry that this is happening to u. It’s awesome that your landlord is right on top of it and your friends sound so incredibly supportive. I’m sending u big hugs and good (and very dry) vibes. Xoxo
Your productivity astonishes me. Like how the hell can you get all of that in a day? I probably couldn’t even get 1/10 of what you did done.
Aye Baylee. All that stuff. I’m glad you have friends that could help you out and move some upstairs. I dread the day I decide to move out of my apt. 😂. Still hope things progress swiftly with the basement fixes for you.
Awww feeling so sorry for u rn, the struggle asdhljdllbhh
Okay must admit I cried I’ve been subbed (on multiple accounts) since 2015 and I’m gonna miss the art room so much
When you get everything sorted out you should talk to the rental agency or renter for your house and see if they could possibly pay for the damaged items and fix the house. That's the least they can do. ❤ I hope you get through this okay! I cant even imagine going a day without art so I am really sorry!
Baylee I hope everything get fixed and resolved good luck my friend
I wish I could help you!! **btw rn imagining all your subscribers helping you out irl** But I'm happy seeing you keeping a positive attitude while facing this struggle. You're brave! (And you deserve all the chinese food you want!) I'm sure the new art room upstairs will be like a whole fresh start (new year, new art room! yay), so excited to see how everything will be in the end!
Such a bummer about the basement. Hang in there and keep thinking positively ❤️
I think you are amazing to be able to move a bed like that without help and you seem to be able to fix most things by yourself. Good luck.
Baylee. I'm really sorry that you had to go through an ordeal like this. I hope everything will work itself out and that you don't get overly stressed out.
You can’t believe how much I want to be there to help you 💕
If you're not considering on losing how about looking into things that lift up your stuff a bit, just in case if there's a flood it won't expect it and look for plastic cuz it won't mold. We had the same problem for the longest time with our plumbing backing up in our old home and I have my business down there, so what I did is I put down there plastic light stage that is sturdy, got rid of anything that could contain mold underneath like wood and such ( that would be up to your lease owners they want to get rid of stuff like that) and it's very much once a year you check up on it see if everything is okay no cracks etc. And it should help your stuff not end up wet especially if you have lots of courts. It might be a little more costly but it also depends on moving upstairs or staying downstairs, it is a auction that's open p
Always such a nightmare! I do hope your insurance covers it, I don’t know if I would trust that contractor again! I know this is a bit off-the-wall but you might consider moving your art area to your main living room. Moving all that stuff (tv’s couch etc.) down to the basement. It may seem a bit odd but since you work at home why not use the largest area at your house as your workspace? Go down to the basement to entertain or relax for the evening. Something to consider. We changed our dining area into an art area. Made a big long table against the wall a couple of rolling cabinets and Wala “art construction area“!
good luck!! 💕💕
