You can tell this is 11 years old
The First receiver and dummy half can run once per set IF they are playing in their positions
If the first receiver runs onto the ball he will pretty much always take at least two steps before trying to pass because he can’t just stop AND pass at that level
A forward at first receiver will get smashed by the marker or panic and throw a bad pass or drop it most times
You can’t have a runner each side of the first receiverbecuase it crowds the tuck area and cramps the receiver preventing him from making a decision on which way to run
Holding the hand up to catch at shoulder or high chest height encourages the wrong pass target area for passers . Mid chest at best
The outside foot pointing pointed out eliminates a dominant footed player going one way EVERY time. If the receiver is running straight at the catch they will run straight and can choose which way and forces them to look up before choosing
You can’t rely on the tacklers to not jump before the first receiver gets the ball not the ref to call it so depth and width creates space
    Depth gives more time
Width can prevent the marker getting to the first receiver
Coaching for the next year in mind is always the best approach once the basics are down like catching and passing.
Encourage players to play in. Positions and roles and explain what each position generally does on the field . Play to strengths like size , speed , agility and skill sets including confidence
Developers confidence in kids by taking them out of their comfort zones and don’t be scared to experiment
Encourage clear communication all all cost between players
Fo whatever you can to prevent fighting over runs by getting the ball to all players in a game
Tailor training to specific needs based on skill levels
Practice what they are weak at in small groups
Train twice a week even if it’s a weekend arvo or early evening over summer. It will pay off even if you only get three players there a weekend.
    Ignore parents and agendas
Have the pre game talk away from parents and distractions and bend down to the kids eye level in a horseshoe not a circle with your back to kids
Encourage eye contact with the coach and trainer
Tell the trainer what you want them rob remind kids at breaks in the game and keep it to one or two things only pert message
    Keep everything simple
Register at the weaker clubs to prevent clubs from getting all the talent as it works out best for all the kids in your comp if the same teams don’t get flogged every week .
Don’t baby the kids and feed them bullshit. Be honest good or bad to make kids mentally stronger and ready for life.
Have fun and try and end all training sessions and games on a positive
Have fun as a coach. It didn’t last forever and you will miss it one day.
    I hope this helps
Yes I know not all of you will agree with my tips
No I don’t give a shit either nor should you.
In life there is no right or wrong way to do anything. Only what you think is best for others and yourself at the same time.
Work that one out yourselves. Lol.
No I can’t be fucked fixing grammar. I don’t care about grammar. You are at least a teenager so work it out yourself .
