Thank You!
It must be so satisfying to hear actual music come out, sounding good.
Just a tip for soldering the final version: bolt down your transistors to the heatsink/spreader before soldering them on to the pcb. Once soldered you can unmount if required. Soldering them without mounting to the final heatsink will result in more effort trying to position correctly and stressed leads.
The JAT 801 really rocks, its such an fascinating, fun educational project.
Thank you for putting in the time to share it with us all.
Can hardly wait for the next installment.
very cool John, Nice to see it working :)
Thank you for the upload.
Thanks John, just want to see how the 3 JAT comparison after they all finished.
Followed the JAT501 series thoroughly and I'm really liking the JAT801.
Am I sensing a JAT1101... you know, down the pike ?
Beautiful transistulators!
Sounds really good
Looks Cool!
Great job John! Any word on the power supply from KISS Audio for the 501? 🙂
Eddie works on it off and on. It is up to him to finish it.
Awesome ! congratulations........cheers.
Greetings from Mansfield! Will you be attempting any distortion /performance analysis using ARTA as you touched on in previous videos?
If I can revive my old computer. My current one does not have as low distortion audio for measuring.
@@JohnAudioTech I've pondered if adding bypass caps and magnetic shielding to a motherboard would reduce the noise floor for this sort of testing.
@@jimcoleman52 Maybe we should all cash in and get John a Topping D10s DAC or something. Also, I would totally buy a kit for a even more powerful JAT model.
Sounds good John! Will boards be available?
I think he'll post gerbers and then you can order boards from whoever you like. With some board makers you can even get them in different colors.
@@1pcfred John and sooo many other creators use JLCPCB, so I'd tend toward them. They also offer multiple colours.
@@CraftAero they're as good as anyone else is I suppose.
Toshiba transistor are more better quality in my experience when I did measurement with my curve trace. Less distortion , if can get them with the same wafer even better
I like more better.
Which one? There are many different transistors in this amp.
Id like a board please 👍
It's not done yet.
Send a board to Williston Audio Labs. Do it bump?
You big dummy!
@@JohnAudioTech I would like to see him dyno it though.
What a nice idea
It will be fun
I can see it now. JAT the BassHead. Rocking his Pyramid Amp and his Watt Puppy Subwoofers! LOLZ :-)
What class is this amp ?
AB but it can be biased at A with a lower supply voltage due to the intense power dissipation of class A.
Super classy
