Odin lost his eye in exchange for cosmic wisdom
Guts lost his eye becoming aware of the astral world
Nice observation but I think a bit stretch
Gita discovered it around 200 chapters
Guts lost his eye around 90-100 chapters
Let this guy keep the utensils he's on to something!
Honestly I love berserk especially the final fight between guts and griffith when he says its time to go berserker mode 😎
And he berserks all over the place😎
And then berserks everyone around him

Another thing, Tyr was Fenrir's best friend and would pet him when he was a pup, and another reason that he allowed himself to be chained is because his best friend put his hand in the mouth.
i always thought, tyr was a germanic god, not a norse one. wasnt tyr like the god of war, instead of thor, or did thor became that after tyr lost his arm?
@@TheValinov nah, Tyr was always the god of war, Thor was the god of thunder.
7:00 Guts being Born from a coprse left him out fo the current of causality , so he is the only human who can fight against it
No being saved by skull knight changed fate. His birth was fate but like skull knight says, you cannot change the bigger details but you can change around the smaller ones and slowly change fate in their favor.
@@Guts-DemonSlayer that's not in the manga , the fact he was born from a corpse is mentioned in the manga as a reason for guts to be able to stand against the god hand in a way they cannot fully control/predict, it doesn't men they can't kill him or that he can't die , it simply means they cannot fully predict his future
Casuality is more like law of karma
Cause and effect
Griffith engaged with princess
The cause
He was tortured
The effect
I don't think it's remotely similar to a predetermined fate or destiny
@@mr.gamerkabir8142 nah nah causality is definitely this world's version of fate. I mean karma isn't really a way to look at it in some of the context that it was given. Like when void gave Griffith the visions before his transformation when he said that he was chosen by causality. Meaning the chosen one. One chosen by fate. I mean I get what you mean but look at it in other contexts.
@@Guts-DemonSlayer but I think it may be a hybrid
If you see

Events that unfold to the eclipse was avoidable
What if guts didn't hear griffith talk with Charlotte?
What if griffith didn't engage with Charlotte?
What if guts never left the band of the hawk?
Thing is peple are highly manipulated from godhand and idea of evil
And it appears as destiny
I might be wrong because it's been quite sometime since I reread berserk
I think there's an equally valid (maybe more so) interpretation of Griffith being Loki. Both being a gender ambiguous trickster and being the one who more directly enacted the start of Berserk's "Ragnarok" event (or events)
Berserk also has Hinduism references. All Brahmins (hindu scholars/priests) are believed to be effeminate. Odins effeminate (gender ambiguous) too. Griffith is a philosopher (a brahmin, reference his speech to Charlotte by the fountain). Brahmins are believed to come from the creator's mouth and thus have very strong teeth. Guts literally broke Griffiths sword with his teeth before, so he's likely being set up to be his equal, a brahmin, a philosopher. I think that's why they seem to have such a blurred line distincting them, they're two sides of the same coin. I think Miura is saying that Brahmins are gods. Friedrich Nietzsche is a big influence and he famously said, to paraphrase, philosophers are both beasts and gods. That's why Griffith is a batlike god. He became one by opening his crown chakra, the behelit was him sacrificing his earthly attachments to open it, symbolized by his ability to fly.
no
You really just didnt compare Grifith to Loki. STOP!
@@COLDHRTDKILLA why
@@panamajack5972from a Norse legend perspective, most things point to Griffith being Odin.
Odin is usually thought to be depicted as an eagle, falcon, crow or birds. fenrir the wolf was not always enemy of Odin, this became concrete when he was bound.
Odin was considered king of the Gods. Lastly tbh most of Loki’s antics weren’t in pursuit of power.
This video annoyed me because it reminded me how irreplaceable miura is 😭😭
Annoyed be not, for the legendary Miura made a contingency plan even for his own death.

thank u amazing berserk dude i missed your berserk videos
Really good thesis here, sir. 👌🏾
Finally someone making the connection between the beast of darkness and fenrir. had this theory a while now. the next eclips guts nor schierke will be able to hold back the beast of darknes, it will become so big it swallows the sun, like fenrir(or his son, depending who you ask) while guts goes full berserk and destroys everyone, including the godhand and femto
The dumbest thread I ever read on skullknight forums was an argument over whether guts' beast of darkness was dog like or not, lmao. The dog/canine imagery isn't even remotely subtle, and there were people saying it definitely wasn't canine like. That thread gave me cancer.
Yeah its by that clown Aaz who went nerd rage mode to anyone saying it was a hound and i used to read their forums, usually for the accurate translations and some other member theories some from Walter, but Walter for some time became a yes man to Aaz even tho Walter is both older, the site creator and has 10x better theories than Aaz... Aaz has so many misses i even have some screenshots of him berating a new member giving a theory of a past godhand, and Aaz went berserk on him, and whoops thats what happened... Also i loved to read theories but this guy would shut them all down cause "the theories confused new readers" even tho he had his own theories that went nowhere and were tinfoil theories unlike some much structured/imaginative ones... This censorship of fresh theories and hate of the new chapters i stopped visiting the site, and i've read some guys in the arguments saying the same pretty much.. what one toxic person can do.. i remember him raving like a lunatic in his wannabe japanese-french accent talking english about how he will ban the next person that calls it a dog and calling people who read Dark Horse berserk illiterate, dont wanna go on, he is a waste of time

I love their way of defending useless criticism against berserk
Theory related to berserk is a bit...sighs
Casca referred to Guts as a "mad dog," which foreshadowed the beast of darkness being personified as a dog/wolf creature.
The best parts of berserk are when it isn’t copying other stories. The eclipse, behelit, apostle forms, abyss, guts and griffith just being a dude/commoner and not having special origins, ect.
Berserk is one of the if not the greatest story ever told
Make up your mind😂
@@cormacdrennan8103 you’re the confused one trust me
It's among the greatests, there's no doubt for that
Berserk is the modren Myth, Hes our Brave Odysseus and Caska is his beloved Penelope and his freedom from the Godhand and vengeance is his Ithica.
its funny how berserk fans are shocked when they know about the berserkers in norse myth and at the same time me as a norse mythology enjoyer wasn't aware that berserk was an anime and only ever really noticed its existence after becoming a dark souls player
I don't like how irrefutably correctly you are here

Berserk content is always welcome. Good video!
wow... just wow man, you enlighten me every time with these deep dive videos. thank u for sharing
Keep up the great content
The fact that I never realised the name Berserk is specifically tied to the Viking berserker makes me feel so dumb.
Of course the series is analogous for Norse mythology, makes so much sense in hindsight 😂
Brand of sacrifice = bluetooth connectivity
This video is goated asf (I haven’t watched it yet)
Relatable
0:43 this is more akin to Wyald than Guts if anything.
Wyald commited atrocities beyond human reach, he caught Guts's sword by the mouth, wears animal skin and, like any Apostle, can transform.
So I think this was more of a Wyald thing.
I really like these videos, they’re like cool documentary quality. Thanks for all of these! I love these!
Femto could also be Baldur, and Skull Knight's attack on him would make even more sense.
Both were using weapons that seemed to be the only weaknesses of an invincible god (mistletoe vs Baldur, the Sword of Actuation vs Femto).
Baldur was known as the radiant god of warfare, and was known to be invincible due to all the things in the universe not wishing to attack him.
This is like Femto's radiant Griffith form and causality itself protecting him.
Additionally, you could liken Fantasia to Fimbulvetr, the harsh and foreboding winters that prelude Ragnarok. Fimbulvetr was caused by the death of Baldur.
Love this channel got me into berserk and I love the way he explains it
what a stretch
i love it, i'm in
Guts really takes care of his teeth. Remember to floss and brush everyday.
Best vod of the year (I haven't watched over a min 😂)
Another thing, griffith has some in common with loki too. Loki is a god of destruction and rebirth, in some myths he would literally break you or your stuff so that it could be replaced with better... If Griffith wanted to kill guts, hed be dead already
Berserkers are real all its really is, is how that persons adrenaline reacts to there body in fight or flight situations. Me for example: I was in a hurricane when i was a kid at my fathers log cabin in the woods. I was on a swing that was held up by two big trees, when the hurricane hit i just thought it was a lot of wind at first and was cool so i stayed and swung. but after a few seconds all the trees around me started crashing down fast (big canadian fur trees), as soon as this started happening everything felt like it was in slow motion, and i kept thinking to myself "this is weird, i must be dreaming" because if it. I decided i should maybe start heading back to the cabin and started moving, looking around while everything moved in slow motion. I remember looking behind me and all i seen was bark of a tree then black. A few minutes later i woke up under branches of a big Pinetree and the slow motion stopped. when i got out from under the branch and started running to the cabin i was holding my right shoulder and didnt even realise, when i got to the cabin my sister and father and his friends were freaking out when they seen me saying i was hurt, i was confused cause i felt fine, but when they said your shoulder to me i noticed my hand was on he and removed it, i had a large gash that went from between my shoulder and neck down to my chest. I was grazed by a branch from the tree the fell on me. I remember just being like damn i don't even feel it and was more concerned about all the sticky sap in my hair. my family thought i had enteral bleeding or something crazy so once the hurricane passed i was rushed the hospital and turned out lucky i just needed stitches for the gash.
I genuinely was curious about why i reacted like that and did some research on it and turns out people react differently to adrenaline, and if you are lucky you can react very positively to it and it will do its job of keeping you alive in situations where you shouldn't be. It turns off parts of your body your brain doesn't need to worry about at that moment and can make you hyper focused, not feel a thing when you are hurt badly for a long period of time, and like me it can make stuff feel like they are moving in slow motion which gives you more time to react to your situation. it genuinely feels like a super power. and i believe this is what the berserker soldiers had, good reaction to there adrenaline to make them push threw some insane things.
If i sound crazy to you, just do a bit of research around on adrenaline and fight and flight, you will be shocked on what some people can do on it.
dude, berserkers took serious drugs to become numb or enraged... both is quite good for a warrior you dont need to survive.
but yeah, in shock (physical and mentally) some crazy things can happen to you.
@TheValinov no they didn't. It's actually a debunked myth. They did take a psychedelic for ritual purposes very rarely outside of battle, but they didn't take drugs to go in to battle, that's a myth that's been debunked ages ago.
ALSO I'm pretty sure that Griffith would represent Odin. Since he did technically sacrifice part of himself (his humanity and the Band of the Hawk) for power. God I love Berserk...
I learned from Creganford that in the oldest myths, Fenrir IS Loki, just another name for him
Comparing the lore of Norse Mythology to the lore of Berserk is like comparing canned SPAM to Perfectly cooked Serloin Steak.
Best channel for berserk’s content
Wtf, I've never thought about that, haha. Great video! :)
Heard birkin and immediately thought of the greatest limited one shot ever produced, "bagserk".
"Aljizz" bro
The whole Berserk lore also connected to celtic mythology & kabbalah & probably rather obvious hindu mythology. I would like to add the "Forest of Demonic Beasts arc" likely to have inspired by the legend folklore of "Beowulf" or IRL journey of Ahmad Ibn Fadlan "Eaters of The Dead."
No one really says hindu a mythology except the colonials
Hindi "mythology"might be the biggest inspiration to berserk behind schoppenhauer and nietzsche
You just reminded me of 13th warrior and how much I love that movie
@@mr.gamerkabir8142especially in the indra theme where indra is blessing guts to fight against evil
Guts gonna use bear shit in his next fight 😬
Kintaru was absolute genius and his work is symbolic and actual his antagonist and the idea of sacrifice is something that happens every day you all know the people who which to feel superior at the expense of others because they refuse to do the work themselves out of grandiosity so they scapegoat everyone around them and sacrifice them these people live parasitic lifestyles while masking their dependency on their victims as the masters while they’re actually the one who needs the victim the most
You probably had a sibling or a parent or a cousin like that these archetypes are all over the world and since the beginning of time they existed and will continue to exist and the story of berserk is a one timeless masterpiece of humans tragedy
Holy shit after the new chapter 376, and the Kushan preparing for war. Maybe we really are being led to Ragnarok...
You guys are talking about Norse mythology, but do you think maybe Miura was into Egyptian mythology as well? Call me crazy but I think I know the Egyptian God
that resembles Guts/The Beast of Darkness the Most. It's actually Set! Not the stupid Devil character from Rick Riordan's books (UGH!) the actual Set from the old myths.
I mean think about it. From the very myth of Set's birth of tearing himself out his mother's wound already draws comparison to Guts being coffin born from his own deceased
mother, but do you know what Set was doing from the early stages? He was battling the forces of Darkness and Chaos defending his King 'Ra' and not only that, Set was actually
considered the 'Strongest' of the Egyptian Gods and Guts was the Strongest mercenary under Griffith. I know you'd think that Griffith would be more like Set since he wants to be
King and played a horrible dirty trick to get that way ala back-stabbing his brother, but do you know what God is a Hawk of Light and a War God? HORUS! Griffith could be compared
to Horus since not only was he a force to be reckoned with on the battle-field, and fits the Hawk motif, he was destined to be King, and what's the most shocking comparison
between Griffith and Horus is what he pulled to get there. Sure he could be like Guts with how he fought for his life as a child out in the wild, but he also betrayed a loved one in
the end. From the myths I read his mother Isis had pulled a spear out of Set (Horus lost an eye fighting Set. That sounds like Guts as Well.) right after they thought, and you know
what Horus did to his mom? He chopped her head off cause he didn't want 'Motherly interference' and since Set would've witnessed that right in front of him, that'd only 'like Guts'
fuel Set's anger and burning vengeance. Also Isis, isn't innocent. If that part of Rick Riordan's books, were correct than like the Midland-Queen Isis had plotted to poison Ra
in-order to secure her own husband Osiris on the throne, and eerily like how Guts found Griffith in that dungeon Ra was described to be like a husk of his former self when Isis
weasel out his 'true-name' in-exchange for a cure. As for Osiris...he isn't a Good-Guy either. I think the best comparison for Osiris would be the more obscure
Berserk character King Balzak since he was a King that appeared Good, and was masking his truer darker nature. Turns out from a discovered text Osiris was a Blood-thirsty God
who used demons to butcher humans (They encountered a Lion demon Named Shezmu in Rick Riordan's book 'Red Pyramid'. Said that Osiris gave him permission to butcher the
souls of the wicked. Maybe him and or Sekhmet could be a Nofferatu Zodd!) and since Balzak went on a rant about how he loved blood-shed, maybe Miura was drawing from that.
Back on the Guts/Set comparison, it was said that Set guided Caravans through the desert but people feared that he'd bring chaos upon the travelers, and you know what happened
in Volume 1? Guts had joined a random Caravan and had unintentionally brought chaos and suffering upon them. Set had also frequently fought Apep/Aposis who was a Snake
monster and guess what his first official apostle fight was? A Snake Monster! Set was often portrayed as a unknown animal that resembled a Dog and...yeah, that's basically
what Guts looks like when he's wearing his Berserk Armor. He's a Beast of Darkness that got consumed by rage, and so is Guts. As for Casca maybe she could be Nepthys since
she was called Set's wife and seemed a loving supportive goddess, but I also think she could be compared to Set's original wife Web-ejet. She was a obscure Rabbit Goddess 'if I'm
right' and if I recall, her story was she died briefly after she had a affair Set's brother Osiris and would've been reduced to a shadow-state witch aligns with how Casca lost her mind.
There is a God called Konshu that devours the Neter of troublesome Gods for the user granting them their energy, witch not only makes him sound like a God-Hand member,
that could serve as a explanation for Web-ejet's fate, and that whole...deal striking with Konshu sounds like the Behliet sacrifice and so forth. I could also state that Zodd is like
Sekhmet since he's lion-like and causes mass blood-shed on the battle-field and that Wyald is like Basshu a evil ape and God of Darkness, but what I can't figure out is where
I'd place Anubis. He was supposed to be Set's kid but Guts has no official children. Maybe he's the Moonlight Boy? Schierke? Maybe Rickert? He did dodge death multiple times
so maybe that connects Rickert to Anubis/Anpu but I think the best comparison would be Skull-Knight. He's a Skeleton so death personified and he does fit the motif of a wise
guiding spirit, so I think Skull-knight could befit Anubis. Maybe Thoth as well, since he aided Horus but he think he's more like Schierke's Mistress. God of Wisdom and all!
Oden is not the god of death I am pretty sure that hel job lokis daughter oden is the king of god and the all father
Nope, Odin is among other things also a death god. Loki, Hel and all that stuff only came later.
amazing!
Oh fuq wasn't Odin also missing an eye? Much like mr berserk himself? Uh oh boys
Guts will never see the End Credits
The second rune looks like Berserks version of the cross , the religion in berserk
you got me convinced berserk is gonna end ragnarok style it makes too much sense
God, imagine if Guts interacted with Vikings.
So there's a lot you left out or just kinda stifled into your own narrative. Let's start with Tyr and Fenrir, Tyr was the one to step up because he's also a God of Honor and Justice so for Tyr to step up it really calmed down Fenrir and allowed for him to be bound. Odin isn't a simple God of Death he's a God of many things like most Gods and Godesses in Norse Mythos he is more of a War god than a Death god, a god of knowledge, of magic, of runes, and of poetry, along with more. One egregious oversight is totally leaving out that while Odins most notable animal servants are Huginn and Munin the Ravens he also has Freki and Geri the two wolves who followed Odin into battle and were rewarded with meat from his plate and a place at his side. Their names also mean 'the greedy one' and 'the ravenous one' if you'd like to read further into that.
There's more but I'm tired lol maybe I'll update this comment in the future. Oh, also Slepnir, Odins eight legged steed, is another child of Loki. As is Hel, the Goddess of Death and ruler of Helheim, this is where souls who did not die in battle go when they die. Also contrary to popular belief not all warriors go to Odins side after death, his wife Frigg (more commonly known as Freya) gets first pick.
I think Miura cooked way to much on this

hmm ok ok…so according to my research Berkano is like Berserk and it means rebirth so Griffith was reborn as a baby chic then he aJizzed on her Assgaurd while making awkward eye contact with a dude cuz Odin had an eyepatch? Yup. Totally sounds like canon to me. I heard Miura was totally gonna write “more a” the story and I did some digging and it turns out he actually was! Cuz miura sounds like more a? Like when you say the words.

Good video but your pronunciation is killing me
It hurts my ears how you butcher all those names with your 'murican accent.
It's a fact guts father had this same demon on him or same armor containing this demon. Guts mother could've gotten graped by the armor bearer. Guts broke his chains watching that blood vision. That shows the demon armor is stronger. With guts armor transforming showing chains its possible guts power is growing
