I remember Eddie "Fast"Clark...Thank you very much James James!!!!
U are a bad ass guitar player. I saw fast way in Phoenix .AZ with Iron maiden an they both rocked the block . In the 80s . We need to bring back the 80s .
Dude that was awesome, I got this album when it first came out and my brother and I cranked it all the time, brings back memories, I lost my brother to cancer in 95, and every time I hear this song I think of him, and being a guitar player, I'm surprised I haven't learned this sooner, thanks James, keep rockin 🤘
Bought that cd when it was first released in 83' or 84. Nice job!
I’m currently listening to it on iTunes man times have really changed but the first fastway album is great no matter what you listen to it on!
Eddie Clarke in my opinion is really underrated. Fastway such a awesome band
Man, not only givin it up for my man Keef but Fast Eddie as well. You da man, JJ. 😎
What a great album that was!! Played the hell out of it in high school when this came out! Heft,We Become One and Give It All You Got were some other great songs on that album.
Love❤that shirt brother
Fast Eddie!! Great song and cover JJ!
one of my all time favs thanks
Did you know lead singer Dave is the founder and lead singer for many years now of Celtic Rock band Flogging Molly? I was listening to Shipping Up To Boston by Dropkick Murphys THE DEPARTED theme and saw in other similar and listened to a few F.M. cuts and searched history and was surprised..
Other than actually BMX racing back then, this album cover inspired me to get my first pair of Checkerboard Vans. That and it just plain kicked @$$.
Excellent. You are the only one I've seen include that slide. Thanks!
THANKS FOR THE POST..YA NAILED IT...! Always wanted to get it right. Saw another dude post this and he didn't play it right BUT BOY WAS HE CONFIDENT ON HIS WAY.
THANKS AGAIN.. AND BEAUTIFUL AXE 🤩👍
Hell **expletive expletive** yes!!!!
Anyone remember if they did or did not have a second album?
The second album was entitled "All Fired Up", featuring Jerry Shirley on drums for the last time... Fastway has a total of seven studio albums
Great song from an incredible album
Great Video!
I know this is a 7 year old video but this song had recently popped up in my head and after listening I just had to learn that cool riff got the whole thing down in matter of a day. great video bro.
Nice lesson. you got a very good ear. This is basically zztops "tush" with the chromatic riff at the beginning and the A chord at the end of D to C, then A. The lead is very simple too with the octaves. Listen to your lessons all the time. Appreciate your guitar input and all lessons.
great job
Awesome classic, bro!
Awesome playing brother and one sweet LP custom..
Man you are awesome!! I have been watching you for along time...first time responder..LOL Love your playing you make it look soooo easy!! Thanks for posting.
Thumbs up! Way up! :)
I should have known I will end up on James James channel when I searched for Say What You Will. Such a great riff.
Killer job Sir!
awesome riff!
Great tune James
Love it! Thanks so much for this one!
That white Les Paul Custom with cream plastics and gold hardware though…😮
Thank you sir
Wow, Great choice !! Kinda surprised, but happy
Call me crazy, but the bass line on this song is epic. It takes balls to play a line that simple without fear of being ridiculed by critics or your peers. ;)
Nigel!!
This always sounds to me like something April Wine would have done...
Nice! I would've never guessed you are a Fastway fan. I'm 47 and most people in my age group know nothing about this band from my experience.
I'm 61,and going to see them and Girlschool supporting Saxon on the battering ram world tour on the 2nd. November, next week.
Im 47 as well and my friend and i used to rock out to this in the 80's. I have it set for his ringtone! LOL They don't make music like they did back then i tell ya
a tribute to "fast" eddie clarke...rip
even more interesting is that YOU PLAY a MORE heavy metal solo than what is actually recorded... fast eddie's solo is very blues based... straight B minor pentatonic... right in the box...
nice job as always! what did you use for tuning and any effects?
Just standard tuning. I set the amp modeling on some kind of German heavy metal amp. :)
interesting that you hear the high E note smashing on top of the D chord on the first pass of the main riff..i don't hear that... of course i play it all on the whole chords in the first three frets.... also interesting that you made up your own solo... fast eddie's is really a lot simpler to play... kind of mundane-ish... but that was his specialty... never overplaying a part too much... very "ace of spades" type song....
Love a white Les Paul...
One of the most underappreciated guitar riffs in the rock business. Thanks for the great playing. Song brings me back.
