  • This is a video description and sound demonstration of my DIY Pelican 1060: 2X100W home audiophile amplifier/BBE sound processing inside a stout protective plastic hard case. The SURE 2 channel amplifier features a robust heat sink cooled by a small fan, over current/under voltage and thermal protection. It has a wide voltage operating range of 14-39VDC and four fixed gain settings. Great sounding, easy to build and relatively inexpensive amp to power almost any home audio speakers! Major source components and cost listed at the end of the video.

      Gonna need some BIG panels..
      Considering you`ll need 12V, 20A for full effect, lol

    Thanks for the great video. I would like to use the XR1075 with a TDA7498 board with onboard Bluetooth 4.0 and a 24V 3A power supply. I have a few queries as below:
    1. Will the same 24V 3A drive both the TDA7498 board and XR1075 or do we need separate power supply?
    2. Do we need any step down for the XR1075?
    3. If we use the XR1075 as a pre-amp at the input stage, how would we have access to the Bluetooth 4.0 chip on the TDA7498 board?
    4. Is there any humming or popping sounds when you add the XR1075? I have read that the LM1036 processor and TPA3116 amp combo has a lot of hiss and noise.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi, looks like a great build. But how do you connect the amp AND the balancer with only one power supply? (I'm a bit confused, sorry). Thanks!

      @MoDIYHiFi  7 років тому

      All components are connected and powered in parallel but only use one switch for power.

    i see that the amp is "6 ohm", or i found a place where it said "RL = 6 ohm". So does that mean i can't use it on 4 ohm speakers?

    my friend i already see many videos from you, different kind of amplifier, but what do you think is the best i see the ta 2020+ from lepai, the tda7492 and this tda7498, what is better? whiich one have better sound quality? which one is more stable and sound loudly? and the last question.. how good of the XR1075 bbe sound processor, what is the sound impact or difference when you using this sound processor when you dont use it?
    i know many question, but.. you have so many experience in this area.!

      +Joeyd Santos All the amps I tried are very good, you'll have to choose to match your speakers load and overall design. XR1075 allows the SURE electronics to trim down the volume and fine tune the tone (bass/treble).

      oh nice, but the xr1075 improve the sound? if i use the lepai 2020+ that comes with bass and treble controls knobs... would be a good idea to add the xr1075 bbe sound processor?
      i want to build a boombox for family party outside.. so i need a very good quality amp and loudly.. so i dont know..
      my friend thanks you so much for every reply.. it support me and all the people like me that we are starting a new project..

    • @MoDIYHiFi
      @MoDIYHiFi  8 років тому

      Yeah if you go Lepai with tone controls you don't need the XR1075. But the Lepai only has 20W/channel. If you went 50W or 100W/channel then I'd add the XR1075. Good luck with your build!

      XR1075 improves the sound drastically.
