Yeah looking back I realized I was mostly negative on 2023 media output: unimpressed with the back half of Ghost Game, did not enjoy what I read of Seekers, did not like 02 The Beginning. But the support for the franchise is legitimately impressive and I'm excited to see what's next!
@@thedigiknow and more non-humanoid or semi-humanoid characters this program if make Calumon to evo and it's themes beside circus are like western or Fairy Tale, holiday, alebrijes, dreamland, wonderland or etc but their designs not really humanoid just so weird what design structure their beside on?
Brigadramon is easily my favourite. Not only does it resemble WarGreymon, you could tell me it Digivolved from Xros Wars MetalGreymon and I'd instantly buy it. Quantomon is alright too.
It could but with Zieggreymon’s build Brigadramon just feels more for the d briagde line granted could easily switch out the emblem on his jets for a blue flare stamp
Technically brigadedramon was canonically created according to it reference book because the d brigade needed a mega since their last one darkdramon betrayed them
@@delllee4915 ultimate is the Japanese term for mega brigadedramon was made to replace darkdramon. brigadedramon was supposed to be their ultimate weapon after darkdramon JP- baby baby2 child, adult, perfect, ultimate En-fresh, in training, rookie, champion, ultimate, mega Side note the reference book mainly being Japanese that can then be translated into English via machine does not take into account English terminology for digimon
Fun fact: "Imaginary Digimon born from the daydream of a Digicore" is also how the Reference Book describes fellow prototype mega Digimon Dorugoramon and Oryumon.
I still enjoyed most designs from this year, like Quantumon from Ghost Game, the closest one we got if OG anime's "Homeostasis" ever get a proper form. Ukkomon from movie, a very unique one. And of course, Vemmon was my favorite, like a small and artificial version of Deathmon.
Vemmon(Bemmon) is actually an older digimon introduced in 2003! That said it's been really exciting seeing him get some love being included in the TCG And the Vital bracelet series! I love his design and his tcg counterpart has an interesting gimmick to build a deck around, being the only card you can have 50 copies of in a deck
Tlalocmon is my favorite out of the new ones, and I love that even though he doesn't look like them at first glance he looks like a great DNA digivolution for saber leomon and el doradimon.
Tlalocmon keeps striking me as a Natural Evolution of Deremon to me, despite being an Ultra-Level Digimon with ElDoradimon in between. The Blue Skin, Gold Noseplate, Regal Attire and Back covered in Overgrown Foliage perfectly Matches Deremon's Physical Design, and it has been without its Own Natural Mega-Level Digivolution for so long, that Tlalocmon just seemed to be Made for it! This could regardless give Namco-Bandai reason to give ElDoradimon as a potential Digivolution to Deremon, which AFAIK had only Baronmon and Archaelomon as previous Stages to Digivolve from, to link the seemingly Oceanic Folklore-based Bird Deremon to its Final Form...
Commenting partially for the algorithm, but also just wanted to say that I found your channel earlier in the year and really love and appreciate all of your videos! It's helped me get back into digimon, and your in depth take on a lot of topics are really interesting. Enjoy your holiday break!
Technically, we also got the new Magnamon X (Overclock? Gold Mode?) design as well. While not a new Digimon per say, it's been hinted at since Magnamon X first became a thing in 2003 and we only got the design now. Brigadramon and Cargodramon are peak though. I'm glad the D-Brigade's been getting more fleshed out. EDIT: I'd actually say the only one I really haven't been a fan of this year is BigUkkomon and arguably, SolLoogamon. The latter is just because I don't like the tendency to go from quadrupedal to bipedal, back to quadrupedal. That and it really doesn't look it shares the same design philosophy as the rest of the line since the initial stages are all based around Garm from Norse Myth; Sol just doesn't. HellLoogamon arguably looks more like a natural evolution to be honest, since I could buy the flames solidifying which result in the armor pieces of FenrirLoogamon since they seem to line up relatively decent.
I Personally feel like *the Dark Digivolution of HelLoogarmon,* much like SkullGreymon before it, is _a Rage-Infused Digivolution,_ taking Physical Elements from their Natural Form at their Later Stage, *but Corroded to its Bones from Digital Corruption.* Their Power is slightly higher than *their Natural Mega, Fenriloogamon,* but the Nature in which they reached that Stage drives them into _a Primitive Berserker State, attacking Anything and Everything without Reason!_ That's why I think *Souloogamon* is Humanoid in Appearance - _Stabilising Loogarmmon's already-Feral Demeanour to Prevent this Dark Digivolution through Human Companionship_ is what gives Loogarmmon Control of its Rage in it's Digivolved State, and takes Visual Aspects of this in *its Ultimate Stage, becoming Souloogamon.* Then once it's Learned how to Control its Rage, it can _Naturally transition Back to a Quadrupedal Form into Fenriloogamon..._ *02's SkullGreymon was capable of defeating Multiple Armor-Level opponents Simultaneously,* which is already an Improvement on its Debut Performance that only had Champions to deal with, so the ~Ultimate+ Power Scaling was there, and _other Dark Digivolutions have followed Suit, boosting their Strength slightly past their Next Natural Stage,_ but HelLoogarmon does something New - it seemingly *Skips the Ultimate Stage, jumping Straight to Mega! That's* why its Power Level is Through the Roof: It's gained *the Bonus Power Boosts from both Warp and Dark Digivolution,* making it difficult for even Mega-Level Enemies to beat - _requiring the Ultra-Level Omegamon to finally put it down!_ It may be *Classified as an Ultimate-Level Digimon,* but _the Conditions of its Digivolution_ gave HelLoogarmon Power beyond Mega - and since we don't know what *a Loogarmon Ultimate that can Control its Abilities without Human Intervention* can look like, we have to Presume HelLoogarmon _is the Natural Ultimate, only achieving such through Dark Warp Digivolution..._
This year definitely had some of my favourites especially Brigadramon and the other new members of the Brigade along with some surprise favourites like Shinmonzaemon and Arkangemon
Now I thought, a digimon with the appearance of a brown boar, on its back it has a perfectly round shell that is black and blends into the fur, on the shell there is a golden symbol. He has a head decorated with a small red Nordic helmet with a pattern, has these braids around his face, and has a long tail with a split tip, and one ring on each end of the tail.
Fusamon and Baomon are too cute not to love. I’m also pretty happy with Brigadiermon and Tuallacmon (did I spell that right?). Been a subscriber for a while, I truly appreciate your work on keeping us retired tamers in the loop. I’ve been wondering how the Digimon fan community is and what kind of fan-generated but original content is out there (e.g. Fan fics, fanimation, comics etc.)
My favorites out of this year would be Loogarmon, Tlalocmon, and Cargodramon. Loogarmon is a cool break from the usual wolves we get in Digimon by combining it with a wyvern, and giving it a mask to emphasize how it's trying to control its flames was a nice touch that leads into its next two Digivolutions (either losing control or retaining it). Tlalocmon is solid and that twitter thread shows how much thought was put into it from its Digivolution method to the details of the design (though I do agree with their criticism on the outfit, it could've been more colorful). Finally, Cargodramon is a great addition to the D-Brigade as they did want more fleshing out as a group and the new line does just that, with Cargodramon adding an aerial and transport aspect that was particularly missing from them while also being a cool take on a draconic aircraft.
Gonna say my top 3 favs introduced this year was 1. Loogamon 2. HiCommandramon 3. ArchAngemon Loogamons whole evolution line was cool and its nice to see an old style interface again like on Ryudamon and Dorumon. Heloogarmon is such a cool dark digivolution for it and what's more, as someone who's sister has always loved dogs and wolf like monsters and a bit of Norse mythology it is so cool to be able to introduce her to a brand new digimon and say "Check this out what if this was your partner?!?" And her get excited despite having been out of digimon for a long time. I feel towards the army-ish digimon the same way I feel towards the toy-based digimon: not nearly enough of them out there. So to see Commandramon get a cool Greymon style evolution line is cool! ArchAngemon is such an appealing design to me and ngl if I was forced to has a human style angelic digimon Archangemon is so cool looking!
Definitely a win year for commandramon fans. Hope to see a new fusion with him or maybe a similar upgrade like Fenriloogamon getting his dark souls Sif look
I love the Loogamon lineup, and I like Brigadramon as well. Hopefully, in 2024, they will bring a velociraptor like Digimon line-up and an Allosaurus line-up and not an armor digivolution.
Really hoping we get a Vanguard D-Standard like approach to Digimon TCG, the power creep now is bonkers, and a new format with a little bit more toned down stuff would be really good for the TCG I think.
Ngl, the triangular thing on the Loogamon's line reminds me of Dorumon's line So it feels like Loogamon might also be a digimon that contains the x-antibody
Digimon creators need to realize that they have the ability to take the IP to the next level. Imagine a game somewhere between Elden Ring and Pokémon Arceus with thousands of tameable Digimon. Game of the year already.
Digimon 02The beginning is messed up! “Hey Digimon partners are great…but we can’t have everyone get them! We won’t be special any more if that happens!”
I actually really like BigUkkomon. Yes it is a bit lazy and I wish it had a better name, but specifically the version with its head open and all the spiky tentacles looks so Edlritch and cool. Tlalocmon is super inspired and I hope it appears in the card game or a game soon. Same with Quantumon, who I appreciate for being a powerful Data Mega, which we dont have a ton of, and a cool supercomputer. Honestly, I don't love Takutomon. The projector hand is the only thing that interests me. But Dijangmon is just edgy and amazing. New Century has some great designs so far. These past few years have given us so many great new Digimon that I hope we get more games soon where they appear. The Ghsot Game partners haven't even debuted in a game yet.
Quantumon and the ghost game crew (humans and digimon) are already in the tcg. The next set of GG cards are coming to the West in Febuary along with BT15.
I really like Quantamon (though its debut episode could have been... better) and HelLoogarmon. HelLoogarmon is my level of edgy. I had no idea that its skin burned off, and we can see its bones beneath the flames. Sick af design. I had an idea for a custom Mega evolution for it where it takes inspiration from the Alchemical lion eating the sun and the theoretical Dyson Sphere. I also like to think HelLoogamon would be a great evolution for Fangmon.
Yeah I wasn't sure if it should be included since Magnamon X already existed, but Gold Digizoid mode / form had its art debut this year. However it was known years ago that Magnamon X had another mode / form and we just didn’t have art yet. So...it is new but not new. It was complicated! Cheers
The problem is we dont have video games with new digimon, and they over use digimon from digimon adventure, they are popular but it gets boring playing with them again and again I hope there is some fire digimon games on the making
The statement saying fenrilugamon is an imaginary digimon born from a daydream of a digicore is also in DORUgoramons reference book entry. I think its pretty much confirmed by that alone that he has some big connection to the dorumon line and alphamon of the royal knights. Not caught up on seekers btw as its slow and want to read in chunks so if thats already been revealed my bad but thought i bring it up anyway. :) makes me also wonder if a dexmon form or evolution will be the final big bad of seekers too. I at least know thats not revealed yet since the series is still ongoing and probably roughly half over by the looks of it.
Well seeker it current chapter is actually it last chapter which ends sometime in March of next year also about the digimon Even before seekers any digimon with the red interface on it head like dorumon ryudamon and loogamon are prototype digimon yes their connected because their species is the first that branched out in data , vaccine, virus Well a DeX digimon does show up in the chapter 4 trailer not dexmon tho it result of a dark evolution
@@Coomamon_Memes loogamon actually doesnt have connection to alphamon he jogress with pulsemon mega because the pulsemon belongs to his human partners friend and rival the royal knight in seeker don't have much a characters so far as much as they follow yggdrasil order to get rid of data contaminated by humans their gatekeeper the main goal in seekers is to actually crack the barrier so humans and their partners can reach the actual digital world to save the people who went dmia aka digitally missing In action those who went to long mindlinked their real body falling into coma while their minds are trapped in their digimon digicore On the note of royal knights having 13 jesmon technically became one so their 14 according to the creators of digimon
@@michaelliggett1622 You can tell at a glance hes a 1st gen prototype digimon. Thats a given. I was more talking is he related story and lore-wise. He feels like a addon to the royal knights or x-evolution storylines like jesmon was when he got added in to the series. Even if not in seekers, lugamon does feel like he will get added into x-evolution or royal knights lore elsewhere like how ryudamon was in the manga. Maybe hes gonna be the canine half of an omegamon style jogress with alphamon sometime in the future or something. That sounds like something the series creatives would come up with. Lol
Shinmonzaemon, a new evolution for Monzaemon, it is a vaccine type, but it is kind of more evil than Warumonzaemon, because it is essentially a predator of young digimon, and that's messed up
I really love brigadramon and his line. I feel like whenever they feel the urge to use a new agumon or greymon for a main character in an anime or series they should just do something like him or gaiomon instead of what they did with savers or recent digimon games. I love agumon. I dont want them to overuse him to the point i start to dislike him like i do other series mascots like pikachu. Imo new faces that make slight nods to him are welcome though and add agumon-like digimon for people who maybe dont care as much for him and his evolutions. Dont give me agu-variants. Give me agu-options.
20 is kinda low they could have created more, there are alot of ideas out there creating digimon i bet is much easier than pokemon which are just animals with some mutation and or magical powers digimons are free in terms of design imagine creating new digimons just base them on DUNGEONS & DRAGONS monsters/heroes easy 30 new digimons +
Yeah I wasn't sure if it should be included since Magnamon X existed, but Gold Digizoid had its art debut this year. Still, it was known years ago that Magnamon X had another mode that we hadn't seen yet. So...it is new but isn't? It was complicated! Cheers
@@thedigiknowNah I totally get it, it's kind of a grey area. I bring it up mostly because it was not only identified but they brought out official artwork for it. Yes, it technically isn't a new digimon but it certainly is a new form for Magnamon's X form. No problem either way. Hope we get some more Digimon anime stuff going into 2024.
I mean, a lot of people expected better of Digimon Adventure 02, but look how that turned out. I can't say I had high hopes for the movie. I still think it's unfortunate though.
Luxmon is such a cutie and a much needed angel bebe. ArchaiAngemon is pretty neat too, I'm glad they gave Dominimon his own line and a proper profile! I kinda love how Cargodramon deviates from the slew of Greymon-esque variants in the line. Dijiangmon is just an amazing design, it works so well as a Mega for Neodevimon.
Big ukkomon look creepy and nightmare fuel remind me straight out residents evil game Franchise or metroid enemy ukkomon look cute but also trying kill you but big ukkomon oh my gosh he huge that my thought.
This year was pretty terrible for digimon. The mediocre anime ended and the only new thing we got was a half assed web story. The card game is slowly dieing and for next year the only thing announced is a web comic. Also none of the new games released in the west. It really feels like digimon is all but abanonded in the west. I hate to watch my favorite franchise slow rot because of incompentent leadership.
I don't like the commandramon evos commandramon itself looks like guilmon variant more then an agumon variant, and I really hoped for evolutions that looked more like grwolmon, we have enough greymon family members
I would have to disagree it is Basically a agumon giving military program it looks nothing like guilmon Put agumon next to commandramon and it looks the same the only difference is the military garb
@@liquidarchitecture6109 they look like a agumon none of thing you list even resemble guilmon with commandramon body plan resembles agumon he doesn't have a long tail like guilmon It stand more straight with it posture than guilmon does their nothing resembling guilmon I honestly don't see what your getting at Guilmon has wing ears long tail 3 claws instead of actual hands like commandramon has A more stocky build slouched posture 3 big claws on the foot 2 in the front one in the back nothing correlates to commandramon other than being a dino/dragon digimon which is common across many digimon

Quantumon and the ghost game crew (humans and digimon) are already in the tcg. The next set of GG cards are coming to the West in Febuary along with BT15.
Digimon seekers brought us so many cool digimons, it should have been a series or a game instead
You forgot to mention xingtianmon.
Last one is Lugiamon
Why didnt you touch on the new Magnamon mode?
Yeah I wasn't sure if it should be included since Magnamon X already existed, but Gold Digizoid mode / form had its art debut this year. However it was known years ago that Magnamon X had another mode / form and we just didn’t have art yet. So...it is new but not new. It was complicated! Cheers
The problem is we dont have video games with new digimon, and they over use digimon from digimon adventure, they are popular but it gets boring playing with them again and again
I hope there is some fire digimon games on the making
Would be really cool if there were other videos for other years
I’ve been doing this since 2020 lol
Holy shit Brigidramon.
Yesssss
Not liking the Cargodramon design but the rest of the line looks great. They need a different ultimate form in my opinion.
Well seeker it current chapter is actually it last chapter which ends sometime in March of next year also about the digimon
Even before seekers any digimon with the red interface on it head like dorumon ryudamon and loogamon are prototype digimon yes their connected because their species is the first that branched out in data , vaccine, virus
Well a DeX digimon does show up in the chapter 4 trailer not dexmon tho it result of a dark evolution
@@Coomamon_Memes loogamon actually doesnt have connection to alphamon he jogress with pulsemon mega because the pulsemon belongs to his human partners friend and rival the royal knight in seeker don't have much a characters so far as much as they follow yggdrasil order to get rid of data contaminated by humans their gatekeeper the main goal in seekers is to actually crack the barrier so humans and their partners can reach the actual digital world to save the people who went dmia aka digitally missing In action those who went to long mindlinked their real body falling into coma while their minds are trapped in their digimon digicore
On the note of royal knights having 13 jesmon technically became one so their 14 according to the creators of digimon
Lol
Dexmon form is confirmed in the latest Japanese trailer for Seekers
@@JDReC100 that wasn't dexmon that was Dexdorugoramon
Has it really been 25 years!?
Oh look its zacian from pokemon
im a bit disapointed you mentioned and even showed BigUkkomon, but not his alternate form where he's...nightmare fuel.
Give me agu-options.
so fenrirloogamon is zacian. got it.
A10 warthogmon. cool.
I really like loogamon cute than evolution for loogamon look baddest I really wish would have adapted anime
20 is kinda low they could have created more, there are alot of ideas out there
creating digimon i bet is much easier than pokemon which are just animals with some mutation and or magical powers
digimons are free in terms of design imagine creating new digimons just base them on DUNGEONS & DRAGONS monsters/heroes easy 30 new digimons +
Fingers crossed they announce an anime or something for 2024, letting the frnachise slow down is a huge mistake
Quantumon is a guardman digivolution tho, its old..
Quantumon deserved more 😔
The only one you didn't include was Magnamon X: Gold Digizoid mode. Other than that, great video.
Yeah it was a tricky one@@xDinomanx ! Thanks for watching and here's to 2024
I mean, a lot of people expected better of Digimon Adventure 02, but look how that turned out.
"mega evolution" bruh
Actually there are more in the tcg like Gammamon's other digivolutions.
Those were 2022
@fanbutton898 ... Japanese or Western Release?
There's quite a few GG cards in the west now. Last release was this summer in july.
#DIGIMON
New digimon?! Lol
Digimon did almost nothing for 2023 and if Bandai wants a proper comeback their going to need to put in proper effort
Yrrrrr
I don't like the commandramon evos commandramon itself looks like guilmon variant more then an agumon variant, and I really hoped for evolutions that looked more like grwolmon, we have enough greymon family members
I would have to disagree it is Basically a agumon giving military program it looks nothing like guilmon
Put agumon next to commandramon and it looks the same the only difference is the military garb
@@michaelliggett1622 look at his body type, the long limbs and tail looks more like guilmon than agumon.
@@liquidarchitecture6109 they look like a agumon none of thing you list even resemble guilmon with commandramon
body plan resembles agumon he doesn't have a long tail like guilmon
It stand more straight with it posture than guilmon does their nothing resembling guilmon I honestly don't see what your getting at
Guilmon has wing ears long tail 3 claws instead of actual hands like commandramon has
A more stocky build slouched posture 3 big claws on the foot 2 in the front one in the back nothing correlates to commandramon other than being a dino/dragon digimon which is common across many digimon
@@michaelliggett1622 go look again, his body looks definitely like guilmon
@@liquidarchitecture6109 I already did it doesnt
Lugamon... more like Furrymon
... I mean you can say that about half of the digimon... you need to specify mate
First
copy pokemon?
Wow, they outright stole Zacian design.
