I have a MagnetoSpeed V3 and really like it. The Lab Radar and MagnetoSpeed are accurate in different situations and slightly off in others. And yes, even for users of factory ammo it's nice to get your EXACT velocity from your SPECIFIC rifle. But we bandleaders absolutely must have a chronometer.
Have you checked out the JKL Precision trigger for the LabRadar? Been using one and it has made a difference. There are also aiming devices available for the LabRadar.
There are spigot mounts and arca mounts out there for Magneto speed. I’ve been leaning to the magneto speed. Compact, easy to use, fast, accurate and price. Everyone I know with a lab radar has a gripe of some sort.
Thank you for a very informative video. Hopefully when Starlink comes online we will all be able to get nice speeds in smaller cities and the country side.
I use the adapter that hooks to my handguard I do not strap it to my barrel. Oh my hand guards are close to the Break so I have no issues with bullet changes
Dammit, I keep missing the "LIVE" live-streams. Some of the other content creators post a "WXYZ will be live in: (anywhere from 30 minutes, possibly even earlier)". Is there anyway you could do something like that for those of us that have to keep Notifications muted or Notifications from multiple creators will keep going off up to 2-3 times an hour all day & all night long? I know that I would REALLY appreciate that!! 👍😇✌
Ray: I do not hand load. But I do not trust "manufacturer claimed" velocities, so I like to have real world velocities to input into my Strelok Pro. To do this, I measure actual target impact in mils vs. ballistic program claimed mil adjustments. My question is this: As I always "true" my ballistic data/impacts within Strelok Pro after zeroing, and adjust my input mil data accordingly to match actual impact, do I really need to know chronograph recorded velocities? Just wondering...
Great question and no. That was one of my talking points. The Velocity isn’t important since you can just input the factory info. We already know that it will be off. I.E. 16” vs 24” bbl. Therefore, the chronograph will only give you a starting point which Strelok Pro will already have in their cartridge database. This is one of the reasons I wanted to do this chat. I just hate the connection was so poor. Thanks for the question.
I still like my Shooting Chrony Alpha with skyscreens, nuisance to setup, but doesn't change my group or POI like my Magnetospeed. I've never used the LabrRadar. Skyscreen chronographs cost less too.
I’m excited for the arc bolt gun. If all goes well I’ll build one too. I’m looking for a good lower priced barrel that I can send a gun Smith to re barrel my 6.5 creedmoor. Where do I start?
Would u recommend the kestrel hand helps with the all the built in ballistic stuff? Think they the 5,500 5,700 series can’t remember right off. Been wanting to get one just not sure on with one to get
I can't speak for the LabRadar but had a chance to work with a scientific one years ago. It was close to $100k and would calibrate using the speed of light. It could get about 5 readings in about 20 yards depending on velocity, The magneto speed should read a little lower all the time since bullets will accelerate a little after leaving the barrel due to the jet effect from the gasses. Maximum velocity is actually several feet from the muzzle. How much depends on bullet weight and diameter and muzzle pressure (probably less if you use a break.)The magneto speed can't pick up the highest velocity. I am surprised the magneto speed is as accurate since it has to operate in a very short distance. You would think bullet length or shape could affect the reading but then I"m not sure how it works. The lab radar probably works with microwaves. They are sent out and bounce back from the bullet. So you have the emitter and a receiver. The one we had was about 2 feet square (just the emitter receiver) and hooked up to a PC and other electronics and wasn't really portable.
Good video Ray. I caught it on the replay, I missed the live stream tonight, I was passed out on the couch after dinner. I went to a PRS match today and it was in the high 90s. The heat has been beating me up this summer. Are you going to make a video from the testing that you did between the two units?
The Labradar is expensive and too finicky so why bother spending that kind of money. Buy what’s been tested and true instead. Wait until they work out the kinks if they ever do if your desperate to keep up on your toys lol

Thank you very much for sharing! We appreciate you, sir 🥰😘😍🔫💕
San Miguel Thank you San Miguel ! I really appreciate all of the support.

Great info, saved me some money again.
D Young1 Thanks D Young.
MK Machining has an off barrel mount that works well
Good info and explanations, thank you for sharing, would be great to see you better but you even look good bad :) - Keep up your great work :)
great information, than you very much.

rafardzrba Man I hope so. We have tried everything. 😂
I never realised I was using a magneet to pick up my stainless media.

Ray my Douglas barrel shoots good no complaints here
Great show!
p.s. just getting a labrador shipped over here in a few days/weeks/hopefully not months - but one never knows over here :)
A buddy had his at the range today... you will love it....its nice!
Oehler 35P!
If you dont mind the setup, I would go with a 35P. Its more accurate and consistent than those to options.

Great information Dennis thanks for contributing.
안녕하세요 Ray! 6mm ARC will give amazing results. 7-8 twist so can shoot heavy bullets (95 grain +).I like the vld 110's and 115's.
You are the reason I want Starlink to succeed lol
Me too!
The only problem with the Magnetospeed is you can't use it on .22lr lead bullets.
My V3 works with lead bullets just fine. Just have to set the sensitivity higher.
@@davidjackson9712 I have the V2. I'll have to see if I cant do that....
I have the magnetospeed sporter.. I have yet to use it...lol

They sure give you a bad time about your video quality but it’s how you explain in detail the products that is fine by me x-ring
Thanks Murray. I appreciate that.
I can se where the Lab Radar would be a useful tool , just don’t loan out your tools
Yes the video quality is lacking. The information is what we watch the videos for.
I may not have an AI, but my internet works. Wanna trade? I'll throw in like $50. LOL. Great content.
Patrick Aherne LOL! I have tried everything for internet. That’s the price I have to pay for living in the middle of nowhere. Thanks for watching.
I accompany you here from Brazil, but the image is very bad.
I tried to watch this but the video quality is garbage i have to bail it's driving me crazy
Bye Felicia!
Diet cokes are bad for you , my mom uses them to kill raccoons
