I love Lucas, but I don’t see how in the world, anyone would try to make us believe in his and Elizabeth’s love story after watching how these two look at one another and behave with one another! If you wanted to make us believe that Elizabeth loved Lucas enough to marry him, they should have kept these two away from one another. Lol! I am surprised Lucas did not become suspicious. I mean, have you noticed how she smiles at him with lingering looks. Talk about looks, she is even looking at him when he comes around WHILE she is with Lucas. There was the time she was looking through the binoculars and stopped on Nathan. That first dance choice she made, she was watching him leave while dancing with Lucas. When she was dancing with Lucas as Nathan danced with Faith, she was communicating with Nathan. Nathan seems to take her breath away. Ever notice the deep breaths she has to take when he is around? Now, she has found opportunities to hug him! I am telling you, if you write interactions like that on a Hallmark show, we can pick up the tell-tale signs!❤❤
I know! Right? The flirtation has been there ever since Nathan came on the scene. It is so obvious. When he asked Elizabeth, "WHAT do you want?...we knew it was him! Obviously she knew it was him, too. She could only lie to herself for a time. That time is over. Team Nathan all the way!!!
@@normasmither202 Yes. The flirtation has been there all along. I guess when the new writers came along in season 8, they thought to try a new dynamic and go the Lucas route. I could sense the shift right away. Suddenly Lucas was turning from this mysterious person with a past to one of the town’s champion. This would make him more in line with Elizabeth’s character. I actually quit watching for season 9 and 10 but went back after I started hearing rumors about a change in course once again. I actually liked who Lucas had become. But I also noticed that he never really challenges Elizabeth like Nathan will periodically. If he does something Elizabeth is displeased with, he quickly accommodates and seem eager not to make waves. Don’t get me wrong, I love it that he wants to make her happy, but sometimes we need to be asked, “WHAT do you want?” so we can do some self-examination. Lucas likes a challenge and from the moment he met Elizabeth, he began to flirt. Well, he “won” and then he seemed to want to hold onto the “win”. Just my take after going back to watch. I am not saying he did not love her, he just seemed not to “know” her and so you had him trying to build the fancy house she did not want. Things that were good but they were not Elizabeth. Anyway, we know, depending on the writers they can decide to make anything happen. 🤷🏽♀️
