S AV Absolutely! Channel 5 are far worse for carrying out the British governments agenda of demonising, shaming, mocking and baiting unemployed, poor, low income people. They have been waging a campaign for years. Note the sheer volume of “benefits” shows on that channel”. The print media has been at it as well.
And shows trying to encourage young people to be talentless celebs, who make a living selling dumb stories about their designer handbag they can't pronounce the name of, so they don't want to be anything useful.
U say that but channel 5 have changed lives benefit street one of the woman was in big brother so there is benefits there is literally nothing from Jeremy Kyle show they just get people on there just to humiliate them

Not put my tv on for 18 months realised it was a only habit so I kicked it. It won't be put on again!
The viewers only watched the X factor shows early on to watch the deluded contestants with serious issues making a fool of themselves in auditions..... once the first few weeks past and those shows ended and the “so called talented performers “ took over the contest nobody was interested..... a sad indictment of modern tv

Good, it was just a platform for Jeremy Kyle to bully troubled people while hiding behind his security. He was quite clearly the most troubled person on that stage. Now he'll have to face the real world and deal with his own obvious self-esteem issues.

@Pete Coventry, clearly he wasn't in the right frame of mind to be able to make that choice. That's the point, most of the people who appear on the show are too stupid, drunk or simply insane to give reasonable consent for the show to make a profit from taking the piss out of them.
If in fact, his illness was serious then "his choice" is not worth the paper it is written on. Duress is another way to put it.
Anyone who commits suicide will result in some form of enquiry so the whole throwing yourself in front of the train theory then throws the question of why wasn't this person sectioned? This is why the larger, now government enquiry is happening to answer these questions. @Pete Coventry
Because it's a horrible exploitative show, and if it didn't exist a man would still be alive. For too long it has gotten away with parading what belongs within the privacy of a therapy room in national television so smug daytime telly viewers can have a good laugh at other people's expense.

Christian first words about 'bearpit' great, the rest was lost with his political views. *People need to know how appalling the Kyle set up was.* People were wound up for hours before their appearances- THAT'S why you'd see people charging onto the stage in a rage. The testimonies of the participants AND the fact lie detectors are NOT 100% reliable make Kyle and the show creators into worst people possible.
Heard that if the detector was at 50/50, the producer made the decision. It should have been inconclusive.

1 suicide in 15 years of Jezza is too many, 2 in 5 years for Love Island is fine.

I have to agree with Terry, 100%.
On Terry Christian's first TV appearance as a member of the public (before he was a presenter) his views were the same as here - he has remained honest and consistent in his views and politics.
Have to say that it WAS partially Jeremy's fault, as well as the executive producer.
My reason for saying this: The Jeremy Kyle show in its entirety was Jeremy's and the show's exec producer's own Idea, they went to ITV to convince the bigwigs to let Jeremy & exec producer to let them run the show in their way, practically having free rein in a sense, as long as it brought good enough ratings. He had a decent amount of creative input especially regarding the format and the style of the show.
Truth is, Jeremy was MUCH more than "just a host', he was essentially the Co-creator/Co-founder of the Jeremy Kyle show.
This came out on the Channel 4 Documentary, Jeremy Kyle: Death on Daytime.
Kyle made a fortune out of other people’s misfortune

I know here in the states that Nancy Grace had been taken to court for bullying that caused suicide. I don't think she was ever held liable In court. It's a hard one to prove that THAT'S exactly the reason they committed suicide.
Whenever someone doesn’t open a door for Terry or drops rubbish on the floor Terry blames it on Brexit.
That was a robust interview and it gave Terry the chance to state his case, which he did.

It isn't just ITV though. The National Geographic and Discovery channels are perfect examples of what TV has become. Reality crap.
I watched the JK just to show that there are people with worse lives than me lol
I think lots of people did. A lot of people who can't get out of their homes (again not through any fault of their own) and faced similar problems. Could start their day watching this show to numb their own pain. And it would make them think GOD at least my life is not as cr@p as this. That was part of the pull. I know people who did this, me too when I was bedridden for a period of time. So glad I started to get out of my situation so I stopped watching that trash!
