Those are called bones haha! I actually first learned what they were back in April. Myself and the other bones player were shipped our own pairs before the season and got virtual lessons with an expert. They were deceptively difficult to get a hold of but we seem to have figured it out
The brand for these marimbas is Adams, and they are designed to have 4.6 octaves, so no modification here. Many other groups use Yamaha keyboards which are typically 4.5 marimbas (only to the low F). Fun fact our outside marimbas actually have 5 octave marimbas and they played licks going all the way down to the low C.
@tylerende Daaaaang that's crazy, I could never imagine playing a low C in drum corps lmao In my high school band the marimba parts are both written for 4⅓, but we have 2 4½'s so those just go to us older guys lol
The splices feel near seamless. Good job, I am gonna use this video to transcribe and learn this show.
share when you’re done please 🙏
3:42....THERE are the Conquest shots!!! Fave show of the year for me....even above my Blue Devils.

11:11 lol I played the right hand up the octave on the last stab before 162. Bummer miscommunication
It’s okay humans are ever evolving
Is the low E some sort of modification?
