Now that we've all had a chance to give the songs from this INCREDIBLE ALBUM the _'requisite'_ five listens; We're faced with a conundrum.
*I hear things like:*
"...best since *'American Caesar'.* "
So, we're knocking *'Post Pop Dep..'* down a notch?
"...best since *'Brick By Brick'* "
So, we're knocking *'American Caesar'* down a notch?
ALSO: (when saying THAT) Are we dismissing Iggy's recent stabs at _'mature-artistry'_ in the _autumn_ of his career?
(The French poetry? The rather beautiful *'Free'* ?)
I dunno.
*I'll even take it a step further.*
"....best since *'New Values'.* "
I am a HUGE fan of the _'Arista-years'!_
I also loved *'Blah, Blah, Blah'* for the EXACT SAME REASONS I loved The Stones
*'Steel Wheels'!*
i.e. My fav artists hadn't _'crapped-out'_ after all. They STILL had something to say!
*'Zombie Birdhouse'* has always had a place in my heart with some incredible songs found within all the _'weirdness'._
I have always considered *'Instinct'* a better entry than most other ppl seemed to think.
(STEVE JONES indeed!)
btw: I LOVE the (1977) _'France/Berlin'_ albums & *'Kill City'* as well!
Just not as much as most.
(IMHO: *'New Values'* was better)

Nice rundown of (some) of Iggy's career.
This album is making it hard to keep his last 20 years or so in a proper perspective.
With the guest-singer tunes & his own work, there's plenty to consider Great.
But THIS ALBUM! (right?)

What are you two favorite albums I think I'm going to go with zombie birdhouse and American Caesar to give a good blend of a certain something... there was a certain jukebox in an Irish bar and Red Bank New Jersey that was packed with great Iggy stuff but only a certain somebody that I knew from out of town knew what the heck was what... wish I could remember some of the mind-blowing stuff I heard.,? Anyhow the best diggy is whatever he's doing
